Curious to get your feedback on the below. We'll be using a 30 point Azyr Comp model to build the list, but will be playing the game using the core rules and nothing more. There will be no house rules at all in play.

Prince on Steed (4)
Mage on Steed (2)
Mage on Steed (2)
20x Ellyrian Reavers (20)
Repeater Bolt Thrower (2)

The idea is that in a 30 Azyr point environment, I'll likely be outnumbered as my opponent only needs 34 models to outnumber. I'll choose Assassinate and let him pick the target. All of my shooting will then pour into the target. All I have to do is kill one model to get a Major Victory.

The Prince is there only to use his command ability and let the Reavers re-roll all to hit rolls. As such, the Reaver unit will generate ~22 wounds that need to be saved per turn. The Mages can potentially generate 2D3 mortal wounds. The Bolt Thrower is very hit or miss, but has the potential to do up to 12 damage if the dice roll well. I should be able to kill just about any model in a few turns, even with cover or Mystic Shields in place. With the Reavers mobility (14" move + 2D6" before or after shooting), it's very unlikely that I'll be charged before I achieve my objective.

If I'm not outnumbered... well, given my damage output, I think I'll be able to kill 35 or fewer models without too much trouble even if they're tough models.

My biggest scare from a match-up standpoint would be another fast and shooty army.

Reavers are fast and deadly.
How would you configure a 40 pt list?

This is my general plan as I'm pretty sure we'll end up escalating by adding a 10 Azyr point blob to the existing 30 points.

30 Azyr Point List
Prince on Steed (4)(General)
Mage on Steed (2)
Mage on Steed (2)
20x Ellyrian Reavers (20)
Repeater Bolt Thrower (2)

+10 Azyr Point List
Repeater Bolt Thrower (2)
Repeater Bolt Thrower (2)
Repeater Bolt Thrower (2)
4x Great Eagles (4)

I'm only adding 13 models to my list, so I'm still likely to get the same Sudden Death objective. The core of the army behaves exactly the same as before, with two differences. My Repeater Bolt Throwers are now far more of a threat and can be deployed to 'see around' terrain and make it harder for my opponent to hide. I can also focus fire and eliminate units blocking my real target if needed. The Great Eagles are in there to harass, annoy and draw fire. They can Fly and move 16". This will almost guarantee they can charge whichever unit they want. Additionally, they have a garbage save (6+), but 4 wounds each, so they're semi-durable. They can also make a 3D6" free retreat move at the end of the combat phase. They're a great, annoying hit and run unit.
