So, I am thinking about putting my HQ with/near my TWC, they would be a 'In Your Face' Anti-Heavy group, also,
using my Land Speeders to get close to their Heavy's to blow them up as well.

My Long fangs to pick off troops coming across field to get my Obj's, and bother my greys.

Drop my Dreads in the back field, to apply pressure to them, and challenge them. Murderfang in first, followed by my Vern Dread. the drop pods to give fire support from the back field as well

First battle, is prob going to be againest my brothers Imperial Guard. (So go me!)

Suggestions?

Not if he is running a regular CAD.

If he is running Wolves Unleashed Detachment, then yes, 2 HQ are required.

For your Long Fangs, go all Missile Launchers [if you can afford to buy the bits, if not just proxy].

Give your Leader a Bolt Pistol.

If you are putting your HQ near or with your TWC, make sure he is on a Wolf mount for he can keep up. I would personally run a Wolf Lord over a Battle Leader. Lords get the Belt of Russ which is a 4++. Also I'd give him a Pair of Wolf Claws. The mount alone gives him +1S, +1T, +1A. Plus the Wolf Claws add an attack AND strength. Giving him 6 Strength and attacks, Rending and Shred. Then load your TWC out with Storm Shields and Thunder Hammers and go to town on those silly IG. Keep your Lord behind the TWC, even though he has 4++, the TWC will have 3++. That will be a mean little unit.

I feel your Grey Hunters need to be in groups of 7/8, and in a Rhino or Drop Pod. depending on what your brother is running, IG tanks are going to pick off those Hunters before they can do anything. I'd just give them CC Weapons, Bolters/Pistols and toss a Melta in there in case a tank comes close. Don't really need AP 2 against IG. As for the Wolf Guard, I like giving them a Storm Shield and Bolt Pistol, but again, that's just me.

Murderfang? IG Infantrymen? Have fun killing every single IG soldier he runs into. Seriously, the heavy flamer alone will ruin your brothers day if you play your cards right. Drop Pod is just bare bones.

Wait, another Dreadnought? Do you hate your brother or something? Give that Dread the classic Axe and Blizzard Shield. 3++ save for any attacks made to the FRONT of the Dread. It will give your brother a headache. He either has to get around to it's sides/back or hope for some bad rolls on your part. You can also attack with the Blizzard Shield and it's FREE. Smoke is a great for this guy as well to protect your sides. Drop Pod is also bare bones.

For your Land Speeders, Multi Melta is great, but to save points just use the heavy bolter for your other weapon, you will still instakill infantry with that.

Hope this helps, I even came up with a list for you if you decide to go this route. Have fun! FOR RUSS! FOR THE ALL FATHER!

I agree on most things, especially the Wolf Lord/TWM over the WGBL/Bike (putting a Bike in a TWC unit, you lose Fleet, and you basically lose Turboboost)

I'd probably split the difference, with a 10-man Grey Hunter unit in a Drop Pod and a 6-man unit in a Razorback. Keep the Pods to an odd number to take advantage of Drop Pod Assault.

3 Thunderhammers and 3 Storm Shields on the Thunderwolf Cavalry seems like overkill in a 1500 point match. I'd go Powerfist/Storm Shield, Bolt Pistol/Storm Shield, and Bolt Pistol/Chainsword on the Pack Leader (your guys with Invuln saves can Look Out, Sir! him, and you can keep him in the middle of the pack, so they probably won't need to). That will still be a huge number of attacks, with the TWCPL getting the extra one for 2 ccw, and the Lord with his 2 Wolf Claws... all of them potentially Rending, and the Power Fist closing the deal against models with armor. And you'll still have 2 shooting attacks in the Shooting phase, which can't hurt.

In this build, I kind of agree on the 4 Missile Launchers. If you're going to split a Long Fang squad between Lascannons and MLs, I usually prefer 2-3 Lascannons (for Mech) and 1 ML (to Frag Troops with Split Fire or join the LCs and Krak Mech), but against blobs of Guard with mostly light armor Mech, You'll probably be better served with lots of Frags (and you can pile on the Kraks, if you want to/need to).
