This is your one and only chance to receive a set of exclusive laser-cut acrylic objective markers. All you have to do is buy your copy of Team Yankee on launch day at any participating game store, and the objectives are yours absolutely free. These will never be available again, so they will forever identify you as a Team Yankee launch-day veteran.

They've certainly poured a lot of their plastic resources into this It still leaves me cold but it will be interesting to see if any of these game mechanics migrate over to FoW's other periods.

I may look at the rules, but honestly can't see getting into it. Hard enough to find FoW players as it is, and I have too much invested in that system.

I could see maybe doing it in 6mm and then picking up both Red and Blue.

I'm not sure that releasing the helicopters for individual sale before the tanks is a good idea. Aside from that, however, I'm looking forward to seeing how this plays.

That's not a bad idea. Getting 5 M1 Abrams and 2 AH-1W's from GHQ would set you back $24. I just imagine the problem would be acquiring the cards, as apparently they're not on the release list.

All unit stats and lists for the initial release are in the rulebook. They can be seen in the video preview of the rulebook that Breakthrough Assault posted earlier this week.

I'm not sure what the plans are for subsequent units, though. We know that the Germans and British are supposed to be released next year, and it's not clear yet whether a book will be released along with them.

Hey, that's good to know.

I guess it will have to be another book - maybe a softcover, as they won't need to include the base rules of the game in it.

I've got my eye on this one but I'll wait until the UK and German forces are released before making a decision I think.

Anyone else feel the starter sets are a bit light in the models department?

Open Fire! and similar sets for Flames of War have spoilt me, obviously!

Shaping up to be an interesting release though.

They were also supposed to have support vehicles (US) and BMPs. Unfortunately, those were cut due to issues with the injection machines causing a delay in the release of the support vehicles.

I'm pretty stoked about this but I've also got a push on the game from the locals here so I should have folks to play.

Without seeing the rules in hand, but only complaint at this point is the continued use of on-board artillery. I really wish they would have made it off-board.

It would have made a LOT of sense for moderns.

Don't know yet, as only a few people have seen the rules. Preview copies should be going out shortly, as my local store is expecting one. We won't know until then.

But I doubt it. The new rules are supposed to be a lot faster, and more streamlined. Adding Overwatch would complicate things and slow them down.

20 euros isn't bad for the rulebook, worthwhile picking up to see how they play I think.

Agree that on board artillery is laughable and you must assume is only done for miniature sales. Would be keen to see if there was a player-made amendment that perhaps either increased the points cost or perhaps made it less effective.

Some of the miniatures look very nice. A bit pricey though, are there any alternatives from other companies about for this scale?

Khurasan has some moderns in 15mm as well, though some, especially the US is a bit too modern.

Soo normally I pass on FOW as it is not my cup of tea, however this redesign of the rules has me interested.

And the models ofcourse. Battlefront has never lost me on the models.

My FLGS has almost a dozen people who've pre-ordered the rules and a starter box. The level of interest is pretty high for an historical game.

Its about as historical as some of the Flames of War games I've seen. You know, the ones where the Americans are fighting the Americans or the Russians are fighting the British

Historicals these days are Vikings fighting against the EIR Romans. So yeah, it's historical.

You mean like every other historical game on the market? You can do that with literally any historical ruleset.

Seriously tempted by this, was thinking of 6mm using the excellent GHQ models however a couple of things putting me off so will probably go with 15mm.

1. FLGS will carry the BF range but doesn't carry GHQ (despite prompting) so its not supporting the place I'll actually play in.
2. its 6mm, I'll lose them
3. Its 6mm, while easy to paint I'll go mad doing it

So 15mm it is, and will probably be both the starter boxers as someone has to kick this off locally. Helps both boxes are tanks so will be easy to paint.

We will ignore the goblin franticly pointing at the soviet armoured box thats hardly been touched in months, and then laughing pointing at the Great War stuff, also still boxed..

Can see getting a few of the Tamiya paints for these, at least for the base coats

BF has announced a delay. Apparently they were unhappy about the tools being used to make the T-72, and have pushed the release date back two weeks. There's one bit of good news, though. They're adding an extra tank to the initial wave of starter boxes (and *only* the initial wave) to apologize for the delay.
