Subject: British Pioneer platoon questions

Hi there, I'm new to the game and started with a British(Canadian) infantry company, I have the market garden book, and recently discovered the ability of pioneers to lay down minefields with a supply vehicle. So I put together a quick list and notice that my pioneers don't actually have pioneer supply vehicles. ( pg 197) I'm just wanting confirmation that I am reading that correctly, because every other pioneer platoon I've looked at for US, Germans and British airborne has at least the ability to upgrade to have supply vehicles. I've looked through Nachtjager, Road to Rome, and Devils Charge.
Also I found a PDF that for all intents and purposes looks like it's from bf titled pioneers to the front that says any British Force can take royal engineers. Is that legit and still valid for v3?

I think the PDF is a little out of date! It references a book 'hurlers fire brigade' which I've not seen in print for a very long long time.
Sadly Brit infantry doesn't really get supply trucks

That's what I was afraid of. Is there reason for this? Like why are the Brits singled out like this? Cause it's really kind of annoying that my defensive army can't get mine laying abilities while my friends panzer division can get them.

historical reasons normally, in a few lists in MW you could get royal engineers, but there was a PDF (not official, but i bet when they do MW for forces it will be) they removed the option - i think it's because the RE units were never that front line
Also I would say that the british infantry is just not defensive, i think it's probably the best offensive infantry in the game, you get good APC (sherman/Ram Kangaroo's) Night attack, and Mike target is great for hitting units on objectives - would really build them as an offensive army

So in your opinion who probably has the best defensive infantry in the game?

IMO Russian for raw numbers or USA for numbers per platoon and anti-tank ability, German comes 2nd due the anti-tank ability and anti-infantry ability and vet but the high cost kills it.

Late war Finns. Large platoons of fearless vets covered in panzerfausts (with a counter attack re-roll against Soviets).

Probably US, I'd start with the 2ID list in Devils charge
