I want/need some of the above, male and female, in the context of a zombie/survivors game format. It's just something to add a little realism, y'know?
I can get 'insurgents' in traditional dress but they tend to have extras such as webbing and hardcore weaponry. That skews the image of improvised survival equipment.

Google is not being helpful, it offers me ancient Arabs which is absolutely not the same thing ... so I wondered if any of you nice Dakkanauts would have prior knowledge of such things.

Check out Spectre Miniatures. They may have what you're looking for. Also, they did a Kickstarter for a 28mm technical a while back, so that may show up soon.

Some great suggestions there, especially for African or Afro-Caribbean featured survivors. Some of the Islamic types have potential too.
Thanks for the suggestion!

It's a bit of a quest, but Mongrel Miniatures used to produce 80's Intifada Palestinians which might suit, but I can't find a source for them - Newline Designs represent the ranges in the UK but don't have them on the website. I think Mongrel's range got picked up by a guy in the US and he doesn't run it as a 'proper' business, so the stuff can be hard to find, but some Ebay searches might be your best bet.

Have you checked out "The Assault Group".

They seem to have quite a few options in their "ultra modern" lines that aren't covered in military gear.

One other thing to consider is if you are setting your zombie game in another country, many places are so exposed to warfare that military equipment is ubiquitous even among civilians. In fact, here in the USA, in many places military and tactical gear is pretty widespread among civies.

Lastly, with brighter colors lots of military gear can be made to look a bit more like camping gear.

Best of luck with your project. Diversifying your zombie survivors is a pretty cool idea!

Ah, Google pointed me in that direction but it came up as a dead end. Glad that me not finding anything wasn't all my fault, though.

I just thought it was more representative of a multicultural community struck by zombie apocalypse, to have some survivors who weren't all white and slim.
When the big one comes, it won't be so discriminating - there will be survivors from all nationalities, faiths and cultures. Why not represent them?

I see The Assault Group have had a website tidy-up, it's easier for me to find (and want, and buy...) minis...

I like the Africans in native dress as well as the Arab/Afghan militias, I can easily imagine characters dressed like them in something like the Walking Dead or Z Nation.
How come all the survivors in those programmes look like Westernised Christian types, anyhow?
