I'll be making an Airborne Army as a Christmas gift for my son; he knew that I was a bit of an Anglophile, so he said "No Brits".... I have essentially collected all the components for the build: An HQ pack; Bazooka/Mortar set; three squads of Paratroopers; an M-18 Hellcat; an M-8 Greyhound; a 75mm Pack Howitzer. I also picked up a Jeep Driver....which scales nicely with a ninety-four cent Matchbox Willy's Jeep.

Great start! Looking forward to seeing them painted and kicking some Wehrmacht butt.

So far I've only "cleaned up" The Hellcat and the Greyhound.... The Hellcat is really spectacular; the Greyhound took a little more effort to clean up, though it will look great when finished. Rough week, being a Mailman dealing with the hordes of Black Friday fliers signaling the impending doom.

I am about to start my British Airborne army as well.
The movie "A Bridge Too Far" should come with a warning label.

Got some work on the miniatures; I was fortunate to have unprecedented warm weather, so that I could prime my vehicles..... actually got some paint on them too! I have a long way to go....

I have been diverted from building a British Airborne force by the ridiculously low price I have found on some Russian/Soviet troops.

These pics are pretty washed out. Hard to see any real detail. Looks like you're off to a good start though!

The Missus is the better photographer in the family: I was going for the horde look.... I'm giving myself about two weeks to finish up; Illness and a heavy workload put a halt to my progress.

I had planned on doing a British Airborne army as a follow-up project, but the a bargain Russian Army fell from the sky. I noticed new boxes of the plastic Soviet Infantry for sixteen bucks from an Amazon store; I ordered two. I found some low cost Tamiya Soviet vehicles on Amazon as well. and picked up some of the Command and pseudo-command blisters from NWS.

I ordered another truck; I don't have any tanks for my Russians per se, I do have three of the Revell "toy" Sherman tanks and a single Lee tank. I plan to do more work on my Son's stuff today, mixed in with my "Honey-do" list. Wish me Luck.

I have a few more things to finish tonight before I ship these out to my son tomorrow; essentially, these are the all but finished items. An intense work schedule and prolonged illness prevented earlier completion.
