In a van down by the river

Hey all,

While pondering yet more ill-advised purchases of tiny toy soldiers, I seem to have hit on a theme of expanding my burgeoning Soviet horde. I already have plenty of Strelk, tanks of almost any stripe for LW and artillery. So, based on what I already have the elements that are clearly missing are Engineer-sappers (for some reason I think the body armor looks nifty), Spetsnaz (Recon...lacking from the horde) and Katies.

However, I'm not sure which version of the Katyusha I should be looking at more between the BM-13-16 or the BM-31-12. Obviously there's something to be said for the Heavy version on the "bigger is better" scale, but that just as obviously comes with a bigger points footprint, and with most artillery that seems to be a big gamble. I figured I'd see if any Soviet commanders out there had a preference on which launcher they would take for some reason or another.

Thanks for any thoughts or opinions!

Tend to stay with small and cheap, two of the small ones with extra crew, four at most, allows them to hide out of sight.

Use them to pin or hurt infantry that dares to move.

They can hurt armour, probably won't but can, frees up points for more infantry to assault with.

I use heavy mortars to hurt things BM-13 to scare them

That massive pizza box is nice, but doesn't do much
