Hello once again everyone, with my Farsight Enclaves army nearing completion I am finally being able to focus on rebuilding my Elysian Drop Troops Air Assault themed army! This will make up exactly half of my overall planned Imperial Guard forces (other half will be Steel Legion using DKoK models) giving me a "competitive" and "casual" force of Imperial Guard. Idea behind this army is too overwhelm my opponent with flyers backed up by hard hitting veterans with a few "fluff units" tossed in because they look awesome. I will be using the rules found in Imperial Armor Volume #3 2nd Edition, let me know what you guys think and thanks for posting!

Hi there! Looks like fun. From my limited experience, I'd say the following:

1) Your command squads can take special weapons, and in this style of list, I feel like a high density of strong weapons is a good thing and something you should try and make the most of.

2) Las cannons on the valkyries don't make much sense to me. The main thing is that it's just BS 3, and is going to want to shoot at very different targets than will the multiple rocket pods.

3) Melta sentinels are not cheap; have they been doing good work for you? For the same cost, you can get a pair of avenger strike fighters, 2 more vultures, or most of a platoon.

4) I don''t know how you feel about allies, but an inquisitor with 3 servo skulls helps out a huge amount when you're deep striking multiple fliers onto the table turn 1.

5) Some way to manipulate reserves would be helpful. Is the navy officer like the one from guard? If so, relying on passing ld 7 is probably not so good. Maybe a skyshield or aegis with improved comms?

What about some Deep Striking Heavy Bolter Tarantulas? They're such an excellent unit to combat drop behind the enemies Aegis Defence Line
