So, new year, new thread - with all the INFINITY News and Rumors, and only a little bit of off topic chatter too!

How to begin?

How about with CB's 2015 Year in Review?

http://infinitythegame.com/article.php?id=137

The 2015 of Corvus Belli

By Carlos Llauger Lorenzo (AKA Bostria)

What? Already? 2015 is over? Really?

Ehm… I cannot believe it! This year has come and go so fast!

I will try to sum up the roller coaster that this year of 2015 turned into. But let’s be brief, for once.

First Trimester: January, February, March 2015

While we were pouring out more and more miniatures the gaming community was raging. Due to the N3 release, the new rules edition, they wanted to play Infinity more than ever. They were demanding the miniatures they needed to complete their lists and they were threatening to burn Cangas to the ground if the usual support tools from Corvus Belli for their game did not show up: The free rules book ready to download, the updated PDF with all the troops, FAQs, Army 5.0 and new a Tournament Season.

Corvus Belli tried to satisfy all those needs but it was not something that could be done in a day.

To make things better, during those months, Ángel Giráldez did not have better things to do than publish a book about how to paint INFINITY miniatures and goes in and sells 15.000 copies. How could he?

I must point out that during this first trimester CB’s mail inboxes were filled with support messages to cheer us up, written with exquisite manners and taste.

Yup…

Second Trimester: April, May, June 2015

While we kept feeding with new miniatures, redesigns and concepts this monster that we called INFINITY, Corvus Belli was already testing and preparing their next book entitled “Human Sphere N3”.

April was a great month quality wise and some miniatures of USAriadna started to show up, pointing at a whole new project that was being kept secret until that moment.

Third trimester: July, August, September 2015

Woha! Big news! Something that we wanted to show so bad: USAriadna Ranger Force. An Army Pack, containing almost all the designs for the USARF to date. The best way to start an army in Infinity.

Following up, August was planned as a “soft” month so CB could manage four circumstances at the same time: An HQ change, producing eight thousand copies of the USARF Army Pack, surviving the extra effort put into GenCon and the Vigo Interplanetary Tournament.

Some very intensive months regarding activities and work.

Fourth trimester: October, November, December 2015

Probably a lot of people would think that October was a big month, but it is almost inappropriate to join so many giant miniatures for the same batch. Many of those miniatures could have been favorite at any moment during the year.

What a great month would have been December if the USAriadna Desperadoes had been released, to fill this void due to a mishap and not wanting to do things in a hurry (pretty important), we have here the USARF Starter Pack as an independent product. It is very likely that the Devil Dogs will appear at any time as an independent product too.

Aside from the, “which was the best batch of miniatures?” question I want to point out a couple of things for the immediate 2016: expect more USAriadna news, expect that the arrival of Human Sphere N3 will reactivate lots of miniatures and shake down armies with new Special Skills, weapons, renewed gear, expect more Yu Jing orange everywhere, simply put, expect MORE Corvus Belli.

And, as always:

You don't actually have to post to subscribe as you could just...subscribe.

And then follow it via the 'your subscribed threads' link.

Anyway...hints of more Ariadna and Yu Jing!

a period of three months, especially as a division of the duration of pregnancy.

Seems appropriate, given the pain of game development.

Will this still be the trimester that HSN3 comes out?

Well there's me being dumb for the day. I would have thought the tri applied to the amount of 'mesters in the lot though it makes just as much sense the other way, and that's what happens when you assume things!

I'd really appreciate some more Grey sculpts. but I understand there's a lot of cheering for the trailer trash ATM.

Wow, looking at the year in pictures makes one realize a) how much good stuff they are putting out, and b) that I have really forgotten when things came out.

I could have sworn that the CA Starter with the Umbra Legate, Fraacta and Maakrep came out this year, but I guess that was 2014. I also did not realize that the Corregidor Alguaciles were different sculpts then the unit that came in Icestorm.

Again, thanks to Alph for the new thread!

Ever the Optimist? Bet you bought a lottery ticket too.

Okay, to bring this over, January's rumored releases:
Ariadna - Desperados
CA - Oznat with vulkan shotgun
Haqq - Govads
Yu-Jing - Hac Tao hacker
PanO - something no details

And I think September wins the year A.D. 2015. And October was the "Big and Tall" month. Some fine releases this past year. I do hope theat 2016 is the year of the Tikbalang. And some Tuareg resculpts. I'll keep the wish-list modest this year.

I'd be totally happy with majority resculpts for 2016.
Hoping we see refreshed starter sets for more factions at least.

I'm so excited that we may see a terracotta Invincibles boxed set this year. The first release is one of my favorite minis of any company.

And a Hac Tao hacker? Nice. Time to put on some Barry White, Yu Jing's gettin' some sweet lovin' in '16!

Great idea for the new thread. The thread is dead, long live the thread !

For release of the year it would probably be one of the following: Bounter hunter on bike, tank hunter HMG (or USAriadne actually), Domaru or Tiger Soldiers.

Yes. At least in spanish, "trimestre" means "three-month period".

Or "quarter".

I know every 2015 release above was minutely dissected for rage fists / bad poses / impractical hair and the like, but taken as a whole, I think they are just about the most stunning models ever turned out for this hobby.

Oh, I certainly vote with my dollar, but the problem is that that is not enough. The problem with the 'vote with your dollar' response is that it doesn't take into account why we're not buying the product. I want to enjoy 40k enough to buy back in. It was my introduction to traditional games, and there was a time when I enjoyed it very much. I want to buy 40k, but Gamesworkshop is doing their very best to push me away, and simply not buying their product won't tell them that.

I count sixteen models with their foot up on something;

The Nisse, Mobile Brigada and Grenzer from January.
The Fractaa and Tiger Soldier from April.
The Janissary with missile launcher from June.
The K-9 Antipode from July.
The Alguacile Hacker and Tiger Soldier from August.
Roger Van Zant in October
The Ragik Hacker in November.
Two Symbiobeasts, both Achilles V2 models and the Spektr in December.

Only five Yu Jing releases in 2015; that'll be why I managed to keep up with painting.

I didn't count the Fractaa and Tigers because that rock is more a necessity regarding stability instead of a bad design choice.

And Achilles doesn't stand on that stuff on it's base so I didn't count him either.

But I missed the two Highlanders guys making it twelve / 18 models

I like the desperadoes, neither is the loadout I was thinking of using, but I do have the proper weapons from the Sepc-Ops so it doesn't bother me.
I'd hoped for the bike to be a bit more different though

Well, the Eastwood-esque desperado looks nice enough. I don't much care for the other one. The giant headlight! WTF? I suppose for hunting antipodes at night...

Wish they'd showed Eastwood a little more in that video. Several shots of Axl by himself but none of the other.

They aren't Marauders, Minutemen, Blackjacks, or Foxtrot Rangers.

Pass. Bikers are overdone at this point with Infinity.
