I'm familiar with 'Wargames Illustrated,' 'White Dwarf' (of course), 'Wargames, Soldiers, & Strategy' (which i have yet to take a decent look at), but are there any other magazines that focus on tabletop wargaming and modelling that anyone here would recommend?
Cheers!

Figure Painter Magazine (digital only) is good if you're interested in the painting as well as the gaming

Got the first issue in Forbidden Planet, a year ago. Put it on my order list. Only recently realised that I never saw issue #2.

I wonder if they do back issues.

I'm sooo, sooo sorry.

Huh never seen Tabletop Gaming Magazine anywhere. I do hope they start selling paper copies online soon it looks interesting.

joseph_curwen, if you haven't had a proper look at WSS I heartily recommend it. It's a nice mix of reviews, history, gaming articles and opinion pieces. Quite regularly has new rules for existing rules sets too.

Wargames illustrated has improved a lot under its new ownership, last few issues have been excellent. Still the primary focus on historicals but you're getting a lot more sci-fi fantasy these days

Miniature Wargaming (I think that's what its called) on the apple app store is nice. Its mostly themed at historical (including ww2) but they talk about fantasy and scifi as well. The nice thing is that its a monthly subscription model, but you get access to every magazine from the past four years when you subscribe.

It has a LOT of content as well. Lots of articles and interesting stuff.

Tabletop Gaming Magazine is like the Holy Grail, it is oft spoken of but little seen and no one really knows what's inside!

Seriously I've been keeping an eye out for this one for the last year but it's rarer than scotch mist.

I usually sate myself with Wargames Illustrated (as Pacific says much improved of late), WSS, and increasingly my favourite Miniature Wargaming which really covers the whole industry. It's quite old school too with random terrain making articles, book and game reviews plus ads in the back.

I got one in WHSmiths, but it was in the computer gaming section and not the wargaming/modelling section... it does look a lot more like a PC mag than a wargaming mag though.

I've not even had the chance to read it yet, but if you can wait 'til and cover the postage I can send you it over.

Just picked up Tabletop Gaming for WHSmiths on recommendation from this thread and it seems pretty good. Might look into Figure Painter magazine too!

The first two issues of Tabletop Gaming probably would have suited my interests better, will have to see if I can find physical copies anywhere.

Figure Painter Magazine also does reduced price bundles for some of the older issues

(which as long as you're not after the news are just as good as the more recent full price stuff)

Just found tabletop gaming magazine in tescos, bought that right up. Awesome magazine, amazingly refreshing to see a variety of games displayed and talked through professionally. Will have a better nosey at it tonight.!

There's a magazine called SBG that relates to the Lord of the Rings/Hobbit SBG game.

Very high production values, I have physical copies of all 3 issues.
