It went down yesterday morning and since it's still down all I can keep in my mind's eye is the rage consuming itself finally and inevitable head explosion a la Big Trouble in Little China. Seems fair, bulletproof logic.

Sadly, there's not much the dakkadakka.com community can do to help you, apart from offering sarcastic remarks about warseer itself.
I assume they have some facebook or twitter presence you could check to see if "it really is just you".

I'm 6 weeks into my adventures in wargaming forums and never realized how many posts I read and send on Warseer until two days worth of subscription threads emails fail to clutter up my already busy inbox. Heh, can't wait to see what insane GW conspiracy theories pop up when it's back online:-p

At times like these, this is a good resource:

Additionally, please remember to be polite!
I think the first big wargaming forum I ever participated on was Portent Warseer, and while I may not send much time there anymore, they're still part of our overall community, and I wouldn't wish ill upon them.
Or their servers!

It's a combination of poorly researched/written articles, obvious clickbait articles meant to generate money from ad revenue, and "breaking" news blatantly ripped from sites like Dakka and Warseer, posted a day or two later.

Private Benjamin wrote: What's wrong with BoLS ? I find it useful for reviews of New Releases and it's a nice graphic splashy site BoLS is generally thought of as, at best, a penny dreadful (in other words, it looks enticing until you discover some of the content is utter trash and has no basis in reality - especially the rumour articles). A poster here, Pretre, works tirelessly to keep track of the mass of GW rumour mongers of the web here and BoLS rates really badly. Here's the BoLS entry: Larry Vela aka Big Red - Total rumors: (210 TRUE) / (659 FALSE) / (56 PARTIALLY TRUE/VAGUE) - Updated 1/20/2016 In addition, BoLS have, in very poor form, registered dakkadakka.org and warseer.org and redirects them to the BoLS front page. We may gripe and grumble about the sometimes (perceived?) heavy handedness over on Warseer, but that's their prerogative as site owners - their site, their rules, fair do's. There's plenty of good posters on Warseer still (Harry, Hastings and Reinholt for a few). BoLS, however, deserve a good drubbing for their constant falsehoods and clickbaits and generally gakky attitude.

BOLS is the only place where I look at the name of an article's author before its title, just so that I don't waste my time on worthless clickbait. Alas this means that currently I nearly never read any of their articles.
A typical BOLS article goes that way:
BEHOLD THE GLORY OF OUR BREAKING NEWS:
- We heard for a anonymous super trusty inside source that there will be a new codex for an existing faction
- Codex will include lot of words and pictures
- It will be printed on paper
- Paper may come form a tree, is it a hint at new Wood Elves releases?
Stay tuned as that article will now be repeated every day for a week with a different name each time!

BOLS used to be good with decently written articles by Gentleben and others. Then all that decent content started appearing a lot less and the website started being full of ridiculous, formulaic fanboy "articles" constructed entirely from Copy pastes and hyperbole even when they weren't just some previous written article with a few tiny changes to try and fool kids into thinking it was new.

Thanks for posting Private Benjamin. It's down for me too and I came here specifically looking for an answer to that question.
Personally I don't think Warseer is anywhere near as bad as people make out. I've seen some pretty stupid stuff said on this forum too.
Beyond that, Warseer has one significant advantage for me; tapatalk compatibility.

I agree.
Warseer, Eldar Online, BoLS Tau Online. Once they were all good. Now?
Eldar online changed hands and it became a mouth piece for GW. Far as I know it is a shadow of its former self.
Tau online? man. Was one of the Core Group that came from what happened during the Eye of Terror Campaign. Worked with "The Red Chair" and "Tau Marshal", US group, West Coast section for the Tau Empire. In the Eye of Terror we had our gak together because everybody at that time thought the Tau was a lousy army to play. Except of course the hard core veterans that played them. The Rest is History. Then after a few years Tau Online blew up on itself from discontent from the masses.
Whiineseer was all right until it got roasted over the coals by GW back in 2008 about comments . Now a mouth piece for GW as well.
That is why I came to this site and been a DCM ever since.

Calling it 'whineseer' and a GW mouthpiece in the same sentence is a bit weird. My biggest complaint about Warseer is the ceaseless, blind hatred for everything GW has released for the last two years, preceded by years and years of mild to strong negativity before that.

Lurked at Warseer since early 00's when it was Portent. Would be sad to see Warseer go in a way, but the moderation activity by certain people is completely OTT in this day and age and actively generates major badwill against them.

That's weird. I remember leaving Warseer because they had such hatred for everything that isn't GW. Is their Kickstarter subforum still hidden and tucked away from the light of day? I remember when their Mantic forum was full of hatred and negativity...Er, bad example.

It is. You need to be logged in, and even if you know it exist it's kinda hard to find. Most threads therein has 0 replies. And I suspect that is a major reason for the decline of Warseer lately.
The News & Rumous sections of Warhammer/ 40K are total ghost towns since GW keeps stuff hidden much more effective these days. And since people can't even link to pictures properly there really is no point hanging out there anymore even when leaks pop up.
When people talk of Warseer as GW positive, I don't think they mean the posters as it's similar to Dakka (most people claiming GW are fools and getting worse by the day and a minority of shills/fanboys). I believe it's referencing decisions of the forum itself cowtowing to some GW demands such as not allowing to link to pictures of leaks or even writing out pointscost of units.
