Good luck. Digital camera's were incredibly rare back then and I doubt there are many developed pictures around for digitizing.

I thought digital camera had become only a little less popular than the previous film models by the turn of the millennium, so much that they started outselling the latter only 3 years later.

There are some photos of the Golden Demons here: http://demonwinner.free.fr/uk/2000/

And here: http://sodemons.com/gd20uk/index.htm

If you're after more general Games Day (as opposed to just the Demons) photos, then you'll probably need to do some digging.

Thanks for the links though

I was after just general photos of the day as well as games day photos. Digging is what I am trying, but knowing where to look is proving difficult.

Bizarrely I actually found loads of old games day photos when I was having a clear out this weekend.

Sadly they didn't come out that well - were taken on one of those cheap disposable cameras.

Unfortunately I am not sure exactly which year thhey were taken but around 2000 sounds about right.

I have a few from 1995, I only know that's definitely the year as I was working it and still have the t-shirt.

But I will try to scan the other phots I have and post them up, there is a good chance some of them are from 2000.

Nice one I'd enjoy that. If only when I was a kid I had thought I might want to look back in 16 years I could have taken photos myself.

A quick Google search found: http://www.fightingtigersofveda.com/gallerygd2K.html

Edit: it is the Baltimore GD, though.

Did you try the appropriate WD issues?

Good idea, although do you think they would have general photos from the event in there? I've just put all my WD's away ready for the move :O

IIRC each year they'd have some crowd shots and some close ups of interesting minis/coplayers/events.

What specifically are you looking for?

I went to Games Day 2001 in Canada (when they launched the Tau that year iirc), and I was 12 years old armed with two disposable cameras. My friend had one as well. Carefully rationed our shots, snapping pictures of only the coolest Demon entries and the best tables/displays.

When they published the WD the following month it had a spread of the Canadian Games Day, and since my buddy and I arrived early, we were in the front of the crowd at the big shutters they had at the entrance where they were playing war music and had big SM statues. We were in WD in the picture that showed the crowd!

So many memories, I really died a little inside when they stopped doing Games Day here. :( :(

Ye I'm not looking for anything specific just general photos so I can look back and think awww that was bloody amazing those days.

Ha Prehistoric thats what I always think when I look through the WD's or photos. I just wish to see me. Did you see that at the time or find it later?

I bought the WD release day specifically for the event coverage. The first page had the crowd and I saw us, lol. We felt so cool, like we were a part of the hobby's history.

Ahh to be young again.

I know that we had official pics taken, I was working in Lenton for GD 2000. For sure all in house photo's were taken on digital SLR and stored on memory cards at the time. Maybe try emailing someone at Workshop and see if they still have them on a hard disk. Everything used to go in the archive vault back then.
