Hello, I've been making my own figures for a while now. Some of you may have seen my thread in the 'P&M Blogs' section.
When I started making these models, it was a personal project. However, my friends convinced me to get them cast so others could buy them.
I have completed 9 figures in my range so far. I sell them via my Facebook page http://www.facebook.com/CaptainCalicoMiniatures and eBay http://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/captaincalico/m.html?_nkw=&_armrs=1&_ipg=&_from=

If the figures continue to sell, I'd like to get a website as well. I design, sculpt, pack and post the figures myself, casting is outsourced to a professional.
Here are the models I've sculpted so far. Below each picture is a link to a Facebook album with lots more pictures.

UPDATE: I now have a website and more models, http://www.captaincalicominiatures.co.uk/

And finally, this one I released just the other day.

https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.438665039674387.1073741842.349986105208948&type=3

All the figures are cast by a professional (not me, I just sculpt!), in high quality resin and require very little clean up. They are all sculpted in 'true scale', measuring 45mm to eye level. This pic shows the size difference to some 'regular' humans.

All my models are available at £30 each plus postage. I also ship internationally (tracked and insured).
For Dakka forum members I'm offering a 5% discount on all my models, just send me a PM with what you'd like.

As I release new models I will announce them by updating this thread. If you have any questions or suggestions, feel free to ask them here or via PM, thanks!

Some nice stuff, but aren't these just a little to similar to a certain brand?

In my personal experience, it's more like 2-3 months. But still, buy now. These look fantastic but I'm not sure how long they'll be around. Old GW would aggressively pursue this, new GW seems a little gun-shy after the Chapterhouse debacle (but it's worth noting true scale marines are one of the few things they successfully argued).

Again, though, these look really great.

Thanks for the kind words chaps.

Just to clarify, I was contacted by GW a couple of years back when I started selling my models. They previously shut my ebay listings down, as I had things like 'warhammer', '40k', in the titles and was told I couldn't do so, fair enough.
Things were outlined, I've not had any issues since.

Ah, I see. Although, shipping is a flat rate regardless of how many models are ordered.

Nice sculpts and scale, but too specialist for me, if there were more generic options with fewer surface details that I could customise myself I'd love to get some, but as it is the effort of shaving off the existing ones to replace would not be worthwhile

Always nice to see new models though! I'll be keeping an eye out for any new creations

Very very cool stuff. Nothing that makes me whip out my wallet but very cool.

Now if you were to do an imperius figure, maybe with a flaming sword, one foot on some stairs...

Or the same imperius dude in his ornate armor sitting on a big old gilded throne with optional long hair head or cyber skull head...

My wallet would leap into my hands jedi style and my keyboard burst into flame because I typed in my order so fast.

By the way, picked up a bunch of these a few months ago. Great epic looking guys, depending on how you view that size folks -- the 'superior' marines of the 30k era, primarchs, whatnot.

I second this, particularly the enthroned figure...

"All GW will gain is my increased contempt for their business practices." - AesSedai
"Its terrible the way that conversion kit is causing him to buy 2 GW kits... " - Mad4Minis
"GW are hard to parody, as they are sometimes so stupid that the best in comedy couldn't beat them at their own game..." - Paradigm

Just purchased "Dorn"

Size seems pretty good from the other pics. Plan to convert him more such as sword swap, add a bolter to him and give him this aquila.

45$ shipped to US, pretty good deal

Really amazing work, bravo!

I regret that I no longer play 40k (or have an alternative use for these), but if that were to change I would not hesitate to pick some of these up.

All the best of luck in your new business.

Been a while since I've been able to release a new product, so I'm really pleased to announce this one. You can pre-order here, http://captaincalicominiatures.co.uk/index.php?route=product/product&product_id=68
The model comes with both the bare head and helmet.
Let me know what you think.

I think that looks like both trademark and copyright infringement. If it were a bit cheaper, I'd be tempted to buy one just to put it in a display case next to Two Face's coin and the robotic T-Rex.

You're so talented, I'd love to see what kind of sculpts you could do in the millieu of the universe; these direct copies are a little too on the nose, for me.

I've had more requests for this last model than anything else by far, originally it only had the bare head, like all my other models so far, but I had so many requests for a helmet I thought I'd take the time to make and include it.
I guess I can't please everyone.
