From my experiamce as a Slannesh player the new rules from CotW are a game changer, this list is an attmept to utilise cheap but powerful units to optimise Slannesh play, I will try to best explain some of the new material for players who arent up to date with the new Daemons rules.

This list includes the 'Flayer Troupe' formation and also satisfies the Chaos Daemons greater formation requirements. The greater formation allows you to take objectives and then your units can move away without losing it (which is very handy, look at tactics below) and the formation also provides not only re-rolls on instability but also allows daemon players to add 1 or minus 1 from the result of warpstorm table(meaning if you roll a 7 you can choose 6, 7 or 8) this proves very powerful if you understand daemons this is great!

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

HQ

Keeper of Secrets - Psych lvl 3 (rolling on excess) greater rewards, and soulstealer sword (regains a wound per model killed) - 260pts

Be'lakor, warlord - 350 pts

Herald of Slannesh - Greater loci of Beguilement, psych lvl 2 - 125pts

Troops

10 Daemonettes - 90pts

10 Daemonettes - 90pts

Fast Attack

4 units of 5 seekers of slannesh -240pts

5 Chaos Furies - 45pts

Heavy Support

Daemon Prince of Slannesh - Daemonic flight, Warp Armour, Psycher level 3 ( rolling on biomancy), Lash of Slannesh - 310 pts

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Now some tactics, A very powerful tactic I have been experimenting with is the pairing of Be'lakor and the Keeper of Secrets, Now the KoS is a very powerful and cheap unit, rolling on excess disipline for powers if used right can immobolise armies, be'lakor as the warlord ensures that extra boost as most excess spells require a leadership test. Be'lakors job is to fly beside the KoS and maintaining invisibility on him/her for as lomg as possible while providing support from powers such as dominate, let me assure you these two will wreck HAVOK be'lakor while flying is untouchable with the enemy only able to fire snaps and his 2+ cover save from jink, while the keeper of secrets will be also near unkillable, but slightly less so, or so the enemy thinks. In many matches I have had the keeper easily kills 3 or more enemies in CC, with the soulstealer... gaining 3 wounds he had lost prior per turn? Madness. These two are made for eachother.

The Daemon princes job is simple, roll iron arm, get that lash and kill near every vehicle he can then move on to HQ units, again while remaining in flight it will be hard to hit him, and ive seen him take out tough vehicles in 1 to 2 turns with that lash, he is great!

Now for the infantry, and fast attack, they will quickly creep up following the MC's that the enemy will surely be focusing, their job along with the heralds is to secure objectives and or smash into the enemies with a vengence!

Important things to note, although the HQ's in this army are damn near the hardest to kill, they arent invincible, positioning and timing are key, and make sure to follow up with your seekers otherwise the keeper or princes may get overwhelmed, it is more than likely the enemy will be overwhelmed so it is best to play agressive yet tactful. REMEMBER you can secure objective than leave them and still count them towards your victory points so long as the enemy does not take them after, so don't leave units back, agression in this build is good.

Would love to hear some critique from some veteran players as I am fairly new but have experiance with this army in particular. Enjoy and thanks!

To start this off, I love the list, looks super fun and great seeing variety in Daemons coming back Bringing hobby back!

Few things I want to say though:

What about throwing the Slaanesh herald on a mount to roll with seekers? Mini seeker star where the herald can jump from unit to unit to hide and keep alive.

Why not make KoS warlord, I feel Bel'akor will get focused and give up slay the warlord early. The KoS on the other hand is receiving buffs and you are actively trying to keep it alive so it might survive longer.

What is the core formation you are using? Primarily what is the special rules from taking it? Its the seeker one correct?

The DP I feel should be helping the KoS kill rather than hunt all vehicles, If it takes two turns to kill a vehicle and you are flying around meaning you need to land before charging you are losing alot of turns to just movement and will maybe cut down 2-3 vehicles.

I also feel you are lacking in the Heavy department but that is also cause it is 1500 points so I understand that lol

I would sign this contract but I already ate the potato

Im running the daemon prince with lash of slannesh, this means he can shoot while flying. Its a base strength, 2d6 hit 12 inch range ranged weapon so with iron arm Im doing 2d6 str 8 hits! Thats why I'm running him as a quick run around vehicle killer that also vector strikes per turn. I'm running Be'lakor as warlord due to him lowering the leadership of all enemy units, this is great because both telepathy and excess deal damage and even prevents shooting on a leadership roll.

Im running the base formation below...
Oh wait... damn I thought it read seekers of slannesh, damn I gotta rethink this list with fiends of slannesh

Oh thanks for clearing that up on the DP and Bel'akor, makes sense now lol

Ugh the warlord traits and artefacts look great for daemons, so does the decusion special rules for daemons, but the requirements needing so much is not cool :( Fiends are awesome and id take a few but i would also love to throw seekers in that aswell. Shame.

Be'lakor warlord trait only reduces Ld for Fear test. His warlord trait is awful don't use it.

From my personal experience it is very bad to use vulnerable msu and potentially give FB to your opponent. Daemonettes are great but seekers are better. Also be'lakors trait is crap better make the herald you warlord give him a steed and an exalted for Grimoire and make the seekers a 20 man unit. Grim them or make them invisible. Still the KoS doesn't amaze me. But that's just me.

Killing is easy. Being politically correct is a pain in the ass...

the only thing still make me afraid is fail invisibility or see that countered, then 20 seekers risk to be dead, i saw it happen too many times...then in ITC you can still be hit by templates/area weapons so uhmmm i dont know

If what you said is the case I'm definatly running the KoS as warlord, the new traits are amazing. Run AND charge? Yes please. It really is a shame about the formatiom, it really put a strong twist on the list but it should also function fine by itself

Idea what about skarbrand instead of the KOS, his aura will benefit your int 5 units and he's waaaay more powerful in melee, plus he has armour for any stray shots

The magic provided by the keeper far outweighs the pro's of skar, have a read of the new excess disipline also a 100% slannesh army means no dangerous warpstorm rolls

It's the price you pay for playing daemons, all you can do is mitigate chances.
