Hi guys,

I have been thinking to take
CMD Farsight
Tau CMD w/ stim and SGr, 2xFB, OG, RI, PEN, Iridium armour , NSJ
4 Crisis bodyguard w/ 2xPlasma rifle and TL
2 Crisis bodyguard w/ 2xFB and TL
1 Crisis bodyguard w/ MSSS, CNC, VRT
Tau CMD from FSE w/ TL FB, Fusion blade, SFN, ToAM, Mirrorcodex, WD, DC
all with 2 gun drones, totalling up to 18 of them.
However, as I was looking through the current tau army list, there doesn't seem to be anyone who is actually doing farsight bomb
which led me to thinking if this is still viable option :0
I would love to hear any opinions from fellow tau player.

PS. I know retaliation Cadre provides arrives turn 2, but the tax seems too hefty with 3 teams of Crisis suits are mandatory, as those 3 teams cannot be joined up as one...

3 teams arriving automatically is just a wee bit more reliable than 1 team that needs to roll.

The big advantage you had with farsight bomb was obviously being able to deepstrike without scatter. The downside was that if you rolled a 1 or 2 on the sevond turn you were really handicapped, especially in maelstrom.

Previously, 3 seperate teams were even less reliable because it could happen that only one of your teams came on while the other two stayed in reserves + they all scattered.

Now, you can be 100% sure that all of your suits arrive turn 2. You can build a strategy around that that's going to be more reliable than a team that comes in on a semi-random turn.
On top of that the retaliation cadre buffs your suits far more so they're more useful.

You don't have to be happy when you lose, just don't make winning the condition of your happiness.

I posted a Farsight bomb list in the Army list forum a week or so ago:

It got pushed to page 2. : (

The big problem is that you want a Tau deathstar, a unit of two Stormsurges is incredibly hard to kill if they have one upgrade in survivability, and can dish out more than a fair share of fire power, or even just stomps in combat.

I'll pluck you like a flower.
