Hey I am getting into hordes and picked circle as my faction cause I love the models and theme, was wondering two things actually.

1. What is a good starting force for circle that can give me a taste of their play styles between the beasts and the constructs? Is there a caster that I can just switch out to get that feel or a few models?

2. Can I add the minions to the army? I really like the warthog guys and was wondering if I could toss em in or if they are a whole faction?

Thanks folks

I would sign this contract but I already ate the potato

Hey so this is going to be a tricky question to answer because new rules drop in June. But I'll tell you what I think will be a safe bet.

1. The battle boxes are always a good start, and if you can convince someone to split the 2 player with you all the better! They may not always be the most competitive starting force but they are great for the value and the new ones dropping in June are even better valued. As far as the different warbeast, beast vs contructs, certain casters tend to do better with them. So you could start off with the Circle Battle Box which will give you Kaya and some beasties, then pick up some constructs and say Baldur Stonecleaver (he gets bonuses that directly effect constructs) to get a feel for the two different styles.

2. Yes you can add minions. The way that minions currently work is that each minion unit/solo/character will work for a different faction. So long as the card says will work for Circle feel free to take them. In fact they are a great way to fill in the gaps of your faction, and plug some weaknesses.

Hope that helps.

Yeah, the new edition is probably going to change stuff. But the minions that Circle can currently use will probably still be usable.

Awesome thanks! That battlecollege site is really handy, it also sold me on retribution aswell haha

Do you think it would be better to run circle or a army of just the minion warthog faction (thorn...idk still learning names lol)

Start with the Circle battle box when's it's released in June. Your going to need and learn the mechanics of the game first. Your going to want and get a bunch of games in with the battle box before you move on to bigger and better things.

It kind of depends. Assuming MK3 still works this way, your warlock and their beasts would have to be Circle in a Circle army or Farrow in a Thornfall army. The Circle army can include most Farrow units though, like the Slaughterhousers. The only problem is that some warlock spells say they only work on "friendly faction" units and therefore wouldn't work on Slaughterhousers because those are friendly but the wrong faction.

This guy can bypass the beast problem, though:

Just as an update, after reviewing the battlecollege site (a ton) I hoped from circle and with with trollblood. I did buy a few models just to begin to learn and am now happy I have joined the community!
