Hello there,

I am looking for constructive critique and thoughts on my Bolt Action list I can created. I play Americans, picking up two boxes of Wargames Factory Late War Americans and a M18 Hellcat. With that, I have come up with a list like this. With this list, I was looking for a balance of getting decent units and having

1x First Lieutenant with 1 extra infantry: 85 pts

1x Regular Airforce Forward Observer with 1 extra infantry: 85 pts)

2x 6-man Veteran Infantry squads with NCO with SMG, Tough Fighters and BAR: 92 pts each

1x 10-man Regular Infantry Squads (Late War) with NCO with SMG and BAR: 108 pts

1x 9-man Regular Infantry Squads (Late War) with NCO with SMG and BAR: 98 pts

1x Regular M18 Hellcat with Recce and Pintle-mounted HMG: 190 pts

Total: 750 pts

I've only got a few games under my belt, but units of 6 haven't worked out that great. Regardless if they are Veterans or not, they are still hit and pinned like any other group of models...and will take Morale tests sooner. They also don't have a transport to protect them. I'd consider beefing the squads up as regulars. Then again, maybe being backed up a First Lieutenant will do the trick?

The nice part about the WGF is you'll have plenty of bodies for cheap. They just don't include as many weapons options as you might want, like extra BARs or Bazookas.

Here is how I'd build it, take it with a grain of noob but studying salt. Clocks in at 738:

2nd L +1 (SMG's)

Late War Rifle Squad:
NCO w/SMG
BAR
Rifles x8

Late War Rifle Squad:
NCO w/SMG
BAR
Rifles x8

Late War Rifle Squad:
NCO w/SMG
BAR
Rifles x8

Regular Sniper Team

Forward Air Observer

M10 w/HMG

Have fun and good luck!

*EDIT I forgot there was another weapons sprue with more BARS! Give all your squads 2 instead of Tough Fighters imo. With the SMG, that should be enough Assault attacks. I believe US Rifle teams are meant to move and shoot rather than assault.

I dig how in a setting where giant, muscled fungus men ride Mad Max cars and use their own teeth as currency, the concept of little engineering dudes with beards was considered a step too far down the aisle of silliness.

Well, I do not have a M10 to play with. Might see about doing Regulars but I love how hard it is to remove Veterans in comparison. One thing I love about the Hellcat is that it can pack a punch with its gun but being able to pull out if given Recce.

But I can see what I can do with the squads. Might try a game with veterans and then one with similar to this set-up.

Loose the observer they rarely make their points back put in another sqd in his place .

Also if you have taken the hmg to be anti air then unless you have 3 or 4 of them its not worth it keep the mmg ok its not as good wounding but you get a extra dice .

And with the points saved get a medic
