WOUNDS: 99 TOTAL POINTS: 98 / 150

The strategy I use is to spread the 20 ironbreakers out in a line to take any charges, and buff their armor 2x with Thorek/Kraggi, which gives them a rerollable 2+ save ignoring rend of -1. The second part of the strategy is using the longbeards special ability to allow all of the heroes to use their command abilities, which they use on the hammerer's to give them 4 attacks 2+/2+ rend -2. This will destroy anything in the game in melee (except barely not archaon at full health, I need to get more Hammerers). The final part is burloksson in between the two cannons to give them reroll to hit, which is incredible averaging almost 3 wounds at rend -2 D6 damage every turn. What should I cut to squeeze in more Hammerers? Maybe Kraggi? But rerollable 2+ is way better than rerollable 3+, especially when attacked by rend -2.

Thanks!

'Murica! (again)

From first look for SCGT I'd keep all the heroes, or don't drop more than one. Especially with us being so slow (though up to 4movement, baby!) so you can score. But another unit to tar pit or harass the enemy wouldn't be bad either. Even if mortal wounds come in the battleshock might make quick work of the units. Don't have all duardin stuff memorized but do you have access here to an ability to pile in extra or another time?

No access to extra pile-in. I would drop the thane. You arent getting much from his anti-magic which is only 16". As for the battleshock, the hammerers already ignore battleshock tests within 16" of any hero at all, the longbeards have the banner and probably wont see much battleshock anyway, so the only unit that matters is the ironbreakers. Since you dont need any of your heroes to be the general, you make the Old Guard (champ longbeard) the general and use inspiring presence on the ironbreakers. Also, i think the wording for Thorek is "two different runes" so you might not be allowed to use Oath and Steel twice, which means you can Hearth and Home the unit that did not get inspiring presence.

Also, you can add a gyrocopter to fill out those extra two points. It probably wont do much, but way better than leaving points on the table

Alternatively you could switch one of the cannons with an organ gun which is helpful against things with really good saves or that ignore rend, because if they make a single save you lose much of the cannon's damage whereas they have to make many individual saves to ignore the organ gun. That would free up an additional 3 points.
