Just a small poll to see how many Sisters of Battle people own on Dakka. It's quite a very specific poll, I agree, but since the forum has a lot of members, I think it can be interesting.

Feel free to add pictures to this post if you want. This is also here so that Sister of Battle fans can share their favorite armies. You can as well add a few lines about the fluff of your army if you have one.

Note that it isn't limitated to players: anyone who owns Sister of Battle models is welcome to vote. Be it for collection, gaming or just liking a few miniatures is fine.

What is a Sister of Battle model? Well, of course, that means all miniatures made for the Adepta Sororitas - which is basically everything in the official "codex". This includes their vehicles, at the condition they are exclusively made for the use of Adepta Sororitas. If it's just a Rhino taken from your Ultramarine army, that doesn't count. Fan made units/vehicles are also very welcome to be included - in that case, a picture would be nice in this post, just to show the result of your passionate work. The only condition is that it must be clear by looking at them that they are intended to be from the Adepta Sororitas only.

This topic here is just for the pleasure of sharing your collection. Rules debates are nice, but that's not the subject here. If you want to post your own fan made rules for the picture of your fan made vehicle/unit, that's fine. If you want to complain about how unfair Sisters of Battle are unplayable in 40k nowadays because of such and such rules, please open another topic for that. Thank you in advance for your understanding.

I think the poll might have been better if there was a “zero” option separate from the 0-50.

I own one. A hand flamer seraphim painted for a character in a HERO campaign.

I have about a dozen sitting around my paintbench; the last remnants of an army I painted for a friend. As he’s not played for over a year, there isn’t a lot of drive to finish them up.

I’ve painted around a hundred.

I forget the name of the order. White armor, black robes. Red as an accent color, with a hearty dollop of gold for insignias etc. Tanks in black and red.

I did most of the painting before starting my blog and took pictures of my progress. Here is a pic of some of it at team tournament a few years ago. He also picked up some painted stuff from e-bay, so not all of this is my work.

So while I own just one SoB model, I do have a strong affinity for the Ladies, having painted an army of them, and fought along side them many times.

None. Surprisingly this is one of two armies I own no models of whatsoever (the other being the AdMechs)

EDIT: It's not to say I don't WANT them, it's cuz I can't justify buying them at their current price.

Given the increasing costs of the normal 40k figures they must be getting nearer - especially when you look at character models?

Something like 100-110 infantry (including characters) and on the vehicle front a Repressor, 5 Immolator/Rhino and two Exorcists that can also double as transports. And an Avenger Strike Fighter I got for the SoB - not painted but almost fully assembled by now.

That's actually the sad part for me, cuz I've been basically buying 2nd hand or those massive deals now.

It didn't help that I was ready to buy a few immolators to use as Razorbacks for my Grey Knights when POOF gone they went. :C

3 squads of 10
Spare 3 stormbolters, a heavy flamer sister, spare sisters with the grenade in their mouth cause I dislike that model.
5 celestians using cypher's backpack to differentiate them from normal sisters.
2 canoness, 1 palatine, hospitalier, the command squad basically.
4 rhinos/immolators
2 exorcists

All waiting forever for reinforcements.

Made in gb
Hooded Inquisitorial Interrogator

For purely Sororitas I have:

  • Saint Celestine
  • 3x Canonesses (more than I need really)
  • 2x Battle Sister Squads (15 models each, flamer and Heavy Flamer because… fire!)
  • 2x Sister Repentia Squads (10 models and 9 models, don't recall how that happened)
  • 3x Seraphim Squads (two 5 model squads, one six model squad)
  • 2x Retributor Squads (6 models each, one squad 4x Heavy Bolters, one 4x Multi-meltas)
  • 2x Immolators (one twin Heavy Flamer, one twin Multi-melta, I sometimes run one or both as just Rhinos)
  • 2x Exorcists (or one and a half, as one was just the metal parts from eBay, less the armour panels, which I can swap onto one of the Immolators)

I also use 2x 10 model Adeptus Arbite squads as stand-ins for Dominion (usually I only field 6 models per squad). I want all of my Dominion to have helmets, but without a plastic kit this isn't very easy, plus I like using my Arbite models as I mostly play urban battles and the Arbites are awesome.

On the Ministorum side I also have:
  • Redemptor Kyrinov
  • 3x Preachers
  • 6x Arco-flagellants
  • 6x Crusaders (one custom)
  • 5x Death Cultists (one custom)
  • 3x Penitent Engines (when they work, they really work, the rest of the time… meh)

So I guess I really only have over 100 sisters models all-in, but if they were available in plastic I'd purchase more regularly as I want to add several Dominion Squads, and I want a proper base for building Celestians (currently I only field them if I split my battle sisters into 3x 10 model squads and arbitrarily call one Celestians). If we had access to Zealots for soaking up damage and getting in the way of enemy melee then I'd buy a few heaps of those as well.

I also have Inquisitor Lord Karamazov and Gideon Lorr, who plays alongside my army quite a bit. I'm not completely sure how many other Inquisition models I have as I have a bunch from random warband boxes, plus Necromunda models and so-on. Plus some Death Korps of Krieg I like to field as Inquisition Storm Troopers. All incidental of course as these aren't sisters models really, but they're part of my army in practice.

Hmm let's see, been a while since I let them out of the box so this'll be from memory:
about 3 full basic squads of 10
1 canoness (that I can't use due to a conversion with wings) and that inquisitor kit that had the hospitalier
10 seraphim
Enough for 2 min-size retributors with heavy bolters. So about 10 again.
I think I have enough for two min size ish domionion squads with melta but I could be wrong there. I'll just count it as ten.
4 rhinos/immolators
2 excorcists
1 forgeworlds flyer

And quite a few boxes still unpacked that include penitent engines and more special weapons/squad leaders. So I should be somewhere in the 50-99 category. Haven't touched them really since they went white dwarf codex. I'm also still upset about not having my jump canoness anymore lol.
I don't want to get to attached before they go the way of the dodo. And if they get revived...well it'll be just that much better.

Painted? Sadly zero. I have 50-150 models primed black but no idea what to colour scheme to paint them as! Really love the army but it's not the cost that stops me from maining it, its that there is nothing on the store for sale, something is always sold out that i need.

Yep - Plastic Models are definitely welcome. If they had plastic models, a wider range of models, and an up-to-date codex, I would love to buy an army of SoB (even if it's just a 500 Point Army). But alas, GW does not have this in their sights,

I do have a friend who plays them, though. It's always good fun when the Sisters are out there on the tabletop doing it for themselves!

For such old models the siste line is fantastic. When i started getting back into 40k i really wanted to play sisters until i saw that they were a pain to collect and a few weeks later they lost their almighty immolator from the shop.

I'd love to play sisters but their lack of love from GW just scares me. They require a bit chunk of investment and ge doesn't do squat for them :(
