Bloodscorch Bulltribe formation (10p)

1 Great Bray Shaman (5p)

3x1 Ghorgons (36p)

3x3 Minotaurs (27p)

3x1 Tuskgor chariots (6p)

1 Bloodsecrator (6p)

1 Bloodstoker (3p)

93 + Summoning pool 14 (7p)

I have some tactical questions about the list and need some advice about summoning. I'm looking to get into AoS and haven't played a game yet. Not sure if the chariots are that good, but I'm almost finished with some awesome conversions and I do want to use them. For those that don't know, this formation gives all the minotaurs and ghorgons +1 wound, the ability to re-roll charges, and the "khorne" keyword. this will allow them to receive the buffs from the bloodsecrator and bloodstoker. I'm not sure if this is a "good" list, but any input is greatly appreciated. Looking at summoning probabilities and pool options:

For summoning with the bray shaman, at a 9+ roll I have savage dominion (any chaos monster @ 14 pools or less) or the excellent (and fluffy) Wrath of Khorne bloodthirster @ 14 pools. That's a 27.7% chance.
OR I could summon TWO daemon princes of Khorne on an 8+, which is 41.66% probability per roll. Alternatively, I could take the safest route and go with 2 summonings of of 10 bloodletters (6+ per cast, 72.2% chance) and have 4 pools of summoning left over.

Other options are to change the caster to a grey seer (more reliable caster due to reroll) or forego caster and add a doom bull for army wide incredible synergy and have 5 pools left over.

Any thoughts?

Please guys, even a one line answer would be helpful.

There is good synergy between the Ghorgons and the Khorne stuff, that will be utterly brutal when it reaches combat. I've never liked chariots in AoS, now that impacts hits have been replaced by the new gakky mortal wound thing they just don't have much impact even on the charge.

Have you considered the Arch Warlock? His unique spell is probably one of the most damaging spells in the game, doing up to 9 mortal wounds, and he can cast 2 spells a turn. He also has a rare 3+ Save.

Thanks so much for the reply. It was getting pretty discouraging in here! I had not considered the arch warlock, seems like great value. He costs 20% more than the Bray Shaman, but he seems twice as good. He doesn't have any bonus to summoning though, and that's mainly what Im after. A very nice piece all the same.

Chariots do seem kinda meh, but they are cheap and my conversions are great. I could treat them as a flex component and switch them out if needed.

Looks like a solid list indeed, and a nice synergy with the Bloodsecrator too if you can pull that one off!

The Tuskgors are not the best chariots, but also not the worst ones. And it's good to have the speed and resilience they provide.

As for summoning, I would go with the unit easiest to summon. Once you're battling it out it's good to be able to plan on summoning the unit when you need it, and a 72,2% chance goes a long way.

It would also feel better if you kept to Khorne/Beastmen and didn't put a Skaven in there

Thanks, Attilla. You've helped me decide a few things. I've updated my list and I think it's better. The doombull is a natural leader for this kind of force. The command ability affects the ghorgons (bloodgreed on a 4+!) and minos. All input is appreciated!

Bloodscorch Bulltribe formation (10p)

1x Doombull (7p)
1x Great Bray Shaman (5p)
3x1 Ghorgons (36p)
3x3 Minotaurs (27p)
2x1 Tuskgor chariots (4p)
1 Bloodsecrator (6p)

90 + Summoning pool 10 (5p)

Summoning: 20x bloodletters

That looks pretty good. I was going to suggest a doombull since I run lots of beastmen. Chimeras work pretty well for summoning as well. Cygors are great for smashing wizards too. With the bulltribe you wont have the space but with a great bray shaman the bestigors are as fast as most cavalry so that's something to keep in mind for the future. Expect 1-2 if not all of the ghorgons to die before getting to do much. Since they hit so hard people like to target them. The minotaurs are great at doing lots of damage with the doombull nearby as well so I would expect them to do more damage with the greater rend and such. Your opponent will have to pick between the ghorgons and minotaurs and both hurt a lot in combat so that's good. The monster summoning spell is great to get a ranged monster to snipe out characters which is why I recommended the cygor and chimera.

My Armies:
Orks about 15000-16000 mostly unpainted but slowly being worked on
Militarum Tempestus about 2000 points just built
Inquisition about 2000 points unpainted
Officio Assassinorum 570 unpainted
I dont paint quickly
