On an Express Elevator to Hell!!

Hey guys,

Have been looking for any terrain available for the 15mm cold-war setting (West Germany, France, that kind of thing).

I've seen Battlefront's own range (looks nice but is expensive), also that 4Ground have a small amount of terrain that would fit.

Is anyone aware of any other options? Know that model railway is an option, although haven't seen much that would be suitable for 15mm scale.

Very grateful if anyone is aware of any options!

The options are limited in the cheap area battle fronts buildings are the best bang for the buck I have seen.

Gamecraft mini has well priced MDF kits of European buildings. They also have city tiles, roads, an elevated highway, and modular skyscraper.

What's people's thoughts on the modern day road set by battlefield, haven't started making modern terrain yet but am wondering if it's worth just spraying up some stiff card roads or maybe some fine grade sand paper.
Although don't want the hight of my tanks to shrink over time using sandpaper lol

I think they are very good actually. Not the cheapest thing in the world, but worthwhile imo.

They're made of this resin/rubber type material which 'sits' on the table and doesn't slide all over the place ever time you breathe on it.

Proxie in the US does some 15mm plastic ruins in plastic. I have some of their 28mm stuff and it's good.

HO scale model railroad buildings work well with Team Yankees scale. They have a lot of specifically post war style of building on there.

Check out a company called Faller - I've bought a couple of their kits and they were excellent.

Yes, I quite like BF's roads but it can be a matter of cost/benefit. Some really nice looking roads have been made by people just using roofing shingles, which are going to be dramatically less expensive and look just as nice for not a ton of effort. For me though the time spent making something that looked nice versus buying something that was essentially already done was fairly simple; I barely get around to painting models so it seemed unlikely that I'd find the time for terrain.

That's a fair point guys about the roads, for the sake and time of making them might as well just buying them for the 20 odd quid they cost.

I'm in the same boat - it's a time vs. money thing. Although you don't get the satisfaction of creating something yourself, it's definitely a bonus to open a box, throw it down on the table and get going.

Pistols at Dawn, I don't suppose you have any size comparison pics with the Feller stuff?

Had a closer look at the supermarket I've posted below and it's quite big (26cm in length). While the idea of a battle being fought around Lidl is quite amusing, I'm not 100% that the 1/90 scale or so for HO kits wouldn't be slightly too large for TY.

Would love to be convinced though if you do have any photos!

I know size wise Trees can come in all different sizes. Even trees meant for 28mm miniatures seem to fit decently with 20 and 15mm scale.

20mm with 28mm scale trees. I get the feeling they would fit well with 15mm aswell, especially in such a vehicle heavy game as Team Yankee.

That's very true garm91, definitely some room for cross-scale use of trees (within reason of course! )

Has anyone got hold of the new 4ground Shopping Centre, factory set and petrol station that have been released? Look very nice.

Just a quick post and question - does anyone know of and 'modern' resin or scenic bases suitable for 15mm?

Know the likes of Kerr and King and Battlefront themselves do some WW2 ones but it would be nice to have some options with modern paving, kerbs etc.

As for the modern roads, here is the cheap way.Get you some roofing shingles and cut and paint as to you see fit.
As for the bases, you may just want to buy you a casting kit and make your own. Then you will never run out of them.I took the Urban ww2 ones and have been recasting them for my own use,

In general I'd rather buy terrain than make it, but even I am having a hard time justifying the cost of those modern roads. They would be awfully simple and much cheaper to make yourself.
