Personally, orks and imperial guard....
They need more units and formations. Especially the imperial guard...

What do you guys think should get one?

My selfish desire would be to get the Guard up to date. A little internal balance... a little bit "easier" mobility. Some Rough Riders with Multi-Lasers on them... you know. The new normal.

Adapta Sororitas, because they are currently the oldest codex that has not been updated. Their last physical codex was in 3rd, with a WD update in 5th.

Browsing dakka for 20 minutes will show you what needs an update. Haven't seen a single thread yet where someone hasn't complained about codex imbalance.

Which is rather amusing, because, while dakka is a relatively small percentage of all Warhammer40k players, it still represents the player base rather accurately....and almost all of us have been screaming for some time about codex imbalance, and yet GW has done nothing about it.

Chaos Space Marines.

Their last update was in 2012. They are the main "bad guys" of the franchise. And their lack of parity with vanilla marines is just...very, very evident.

iirc everyone has formations now. Even SOB have 3 formations 1 of which is fairly viable.

Sisters got their Ebook Oct 2013. CSM is Oct 2012, Deamons was March 2013 and are the only 2 dexes not updated that have been released before sisters.

Inquisition was Nov 2013 and needs and update to be more than just coteaz and some chump herding around 3 servoskulls.

As someone who plays CSM, Daemons and Sisters, all of them need an update, though CSM and Sisters for very different reasons compared to Deamons.

 koooaei wrote:

Those 3 are all apoc formations which aren't usable in non apoc games.

Also, inquisition doesn't have one, nor tempestus, nor LotD (though the last one is really pushing it when and army full of superheavies has more variants in it than your "codex"), though they're not "real" armies.

Technically, neither do GK, though their alternate force org Nemesis strikeforce thingy is fairly close.

In answer to the OP though, CSM, IG, DE, Orks, SoB, BA and 'Nids all need help, there's no arguing that. Who needs it most? Probably CSM, though IG and BA are very close seconds. At least DE have CTC and Dark artisan to fall back on, Orks have Bully Boyz in scouting wagons, SoB has Exos and scouting melta doms and 'Nids have flyrants. None of them enough to totally prop up the dex, but enough that they can take on mid tier armies and keep them honest.

Dark Eldar, Chaos Marines, Imperial Guard, Orks, and to a lesser extent Tyranids.

In that order of updating. Get to it GW. You've been doing so much good stuff.

Didn't know about apoc thing. Tempestus have an interesting starter formation of reusable dead squads. Formation for lotd would be...odd to say the least.

All of them. Literally all of them. At the same time. That is how modern game design works, when you update an edition you update every model in your game instead of crippling your own system by trying to make it backwards compatible.

Oh, I certainly vote with my dollar, but the problem is that that is not enough. The problem with the 'vote with your dollar' response is that it doesn't take into account why we're not buying the product. I want to enjoy 40k enough to buy back in. It was my introduction to traditional games, and there was a time when I enjoyed it very much. I want to buy 40k, but Gamesworkshop is doing their very best to push me away, and simply not buying their product won't tell them that.

Personally I say CSM for sure, however if they were willing to release a whole new revamped line for the Sisters, they definitely need that love.

But we all know that Space Marines will get an update first, because it's been almost a whole year since their last one, and they're obviously suffering the most right now.

If I had to pick one I'd say Sisters. They're the worst off.

#1: CSM. I think these guys has so much potential.

#2: Tyranids: See above.

Imperials need more solid antagonists than Eldar and Tau.

I'd rank BA dead last in this actually, because I'm at a loss as to what to do. If the disparity between jump packs and bikes remains in 8th, you might as well just squat the BA.

I am going a different direction.

Tau, Eldar, and Space Marines all need to be increased in points, and like 50% of the space marine formations eliminated.

Half of the issues arise from BS in those three sets of books.

Lots of people want this, but that's not the trend we've seen from GW. Also, most space marine units are quite bad outside an enabling formation. I know this, because that's what BA are.

Not enough. Because Imperial heavy weapons are garbage and can't throw enough hurt down the table.
