So I wanted to try out one of the Guard Mont'ka formations rather than the typical CAD. I thought the Emperor's Blade would be a good one to try.

I elected to take the Bane Wolf over the Hellhound. Any input on which of those is more effective? I felt the BW was a bit more effective against MEQ and in general.

How are you taking two Company Command Squads and a Vendetta? The formation requires and only allows 1 CCS, 3 Veteran Squads (all in Chimeras), and 1-3 Hellhound Squadrons. No more, no less.

I was under the impression you had to have 1 Company Command Squad as part of Battle Group Command. Then another as part of the Emperor's blade, clearly I misread, but it free's up the points at least

You can take the Emperor's Blade formation outside of a Cadian Battle Group, but if you take the formation inside a Battle Group then you do need another CCS as the mandatory Battle Group Command. Just make sure you notate this in your list to avoid confusion.

Why the Taurox over a Chimera?

The Taurox's were chosen primarily because of point issues at the time but also just due to what I have on hand. Now I could look at bumping them up to Chimera's (have to buy 3 more chimera gradually).

That said while its armor is crap compared to the chimera the extra firepower of the TL AC over the ML I kinda like, and I dont have to put out points for dozer blades. (not that Im short on points right now)

You are taking 3 Banewolfs? I think i would go 2 bane and one hellhound..(hellhound has some extra range)
and swap around the Load out on your vets to 2 x Melta + 1 x Flamer per team ..(greater versatility)

Blade formation is not bad ..(the extra clear the area is nice)
Might want to add multimelta hull mounts on the Banewolfs...
(again versatility allows them to engage other targets like tanks or MCs better)
