Subject: Glorantha: The Gods' War -- Sign up to get the Arachne Solara figure (70mm plus base)
Arachne Solara Lives! Soon Petersen Games is going to launch Sandy’s newest game – Glorantha: The Gods War. And we have a gift for our loyal fans. If you are signed up for our newsletter before the day of the Kickstarter’s launch (currently planned for July 25th) AND you sign up for any named pledge at or above the $125 level, then along with your other rewards we will ship you a free sculpt of Arachne Solara, greatest of the greater gods (and a value of $25).
This is a unique reward just for those of you that are signed up for our newsletter! Everyone who backs the Kickstarter, but is not on the Newsletter, will have to pay for the figure.
All get our newsletter already, then you are signed up and are eligible for the free figure! If you have friends or family that may be interested, please feel free to share this with them. But only send it if they are interested, we do not want to spam uninterested people and we want to make sure that the people who are our core backers and newsletter subscribers get the rewards.
Her base is a map of the world of Glorantha – she straddles it like a giantess. She’s a large figure – more than 70mm across.
Petersen said they lost money when they offered individual miniatures. Some BGG'ers said they didn't care about the miniatures (uh, huh) so maybe post on the Gods War forum and see if anyone's willing to sell you the mini's afterwards. (Same for Cthulhu Wars, I'd imagine.)
One of the Petersen clan took the pics. Not sure if it was Sandy or not. Eight days until launch
A few new videos about this game came out in the last few weeks, which haven't been posted here yet so far as I can see. The minis look great, as does the game. First the minis trailer:
And here's the main trailer for the game:
Plus a how-to guide to their free Print and Play version, so you can try before you buy:

I ought to recognise far more of these miniature than I actually do at first glance.
This isn't the Glorantha I am used to, but then the print and play will help.
n'oublie jamais - It appears I now have to highlight this again.
It is by tea alone I set my mind in motion. By the juice of the brew my thoughts aquire speed, my mind becomes strained, the strain becomes a warning. It is by tea alone I set my mind in motion.

Yeah. It's what we pay on pretty much everything that we buy in the UK, though, you know? It's just that it's usually already calculated into the price so it doesn't seem like such a killer/
A multi armed Orlanth? He has got almost as many arms as Yara Aranis, a chaos deity.
Anyway the whole thing is out of my budget, if I wanted in I would want the add ons and the price is just too crazy.
If I can get Cthulhu Wars at a reasonable price, even without add ons I will. But Glorantha isnt Glorantha without the full pantheons.

3 - 4 players was awesome the times I've played it, though! But yeah, I can see 2 not really working (but many games are 3 - 4, like Catan, and don't allow 2 player).

RiTides wrote: Wow, $32 shipping for US and $55 for shipping + VAT to EU. Might just try to add onto someone else's pledge...
Looks like the VAT is included in the estimate according to the kickstarter site:
Below is a table for estimated shipping costs, which will be charged separately from this Kickstater. After the campaign, we will send you a survey from our pledge manager so you can provide your address, specific rewards and add-ons you want. You will also pay for shipping in the pledge manager.
For most regions, including Europe, the VAT and any import taxes are included in the shipping cost. There are some countries in which we cannot include import taxes. These include Mexico, all of Central and South America, Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, Turkey, UAE, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, and Taiwan.
The Gods War is a large, heavy, board game (we estimate it to be around 4kg, compared to about 5kg for Cthulhu Wars). The Empires will be about the same weight. Such a large package accounts for the bulk of the shipping costs. These shipping prices are estimates, not the final costs. We are confident that these prices reflect the prices as closely as possible until we have more data (such as your actual addresses).
