Drone without a Controller

Hey I been toying with the idea of trying this list for a while, I'm not sure if it will turn out well or not, but here it is, it comes to 1849 pts total

CORPSETHIEF CLAW
5x Talos
-5x ichor injectors

COMBINED ARMS DETACHMENT FARSIGHT ENCLAVES DETACHMENT
Commander
-stimulant injector, shield generator, -stimulant injector
-puretide engram Nero chip, c2 node
-multi spectrum sensor suite, drone controller
-vectored retro thrusters, Nero web system jammet

4x crisis battlesuit
-2x missile pods and target locks each
-7 marker drones

1x crisis suit
-TL burst cannon

RIPTIDE WING
Riptide
-heavy burst cannon, TL fusion blaster
-stimulant injector, early warning override

Riptide
-heavy burst cannon, TL fusion blaster
-stimulant injector, early warning override

Riptide
-ion accelerator, TL plasma rifle
-early warning override

So the point of the army is pretty simple, the tau pop transports and flanking units while the Talos try to draw attention away from the guns and hurt things. Would welcome comments and critiques

I might be missing something, but who is going to be your Warlord? The Talos' aren't characters, so you could only choose one of them if there were no other characters in the army.

This means your Warlord would have to come from one of the Tau detachments, disallowing you from taking an Allied Detachment?

Yup you are right

thats a thing for tau?
they can not take non-tau allies if the warlord is a tau?

Any army can take any formation as part of it, they just suffer from the one eye open rule for being desperate allies

i got it now:
Quanar suggested it would be better to take an Allied Detatchment, but since your need a warlord, this is not possible.
stupid me from an hour ago.

dont know how it performs, but good luck with it, i like those mixed armys, if they work.

@Freshmeat from the comments, I suppose the OP's initial list only had one troop choice, because he wanted it to be an allied detachment, which is impossible because the DE Talos detachment can not be the primary detachment (because the warlord can not be a Talos).

About your list, I have no clue what the Talos would be like with the rest. However, I find the FB on the Bursttide odd, as they don't synergise that well (the SMS are better imo).
The TL Burst cannon is odd too. For a monat like that, a FB is better imo (so you can deep strike and try to pop a vehicle, even though with one shot it's unlikely).
And you didn't list the BKR for your suits, which is required in a FSE detachment. Not sure if you counted the points though.

You are correct about the original list, yes I counted the bike, just didn't want to write it out, however I was thinking that fusion on the heavy burst cannons would help fill the gap of heavy tanking ahooting, swing as the would be closer anyway. And the battle suit is only burst cannons because I couldn't fit a -TL fusion blaster

Quoting David Hasselhoff, this is a mess.

A. NJN has a 12 inch effect, and your unit is a 36 inch Stay-Away unit. I know it is a pittance of points, but there is more;
B. S7 AP4 guns that ignore cover ... Okay, they glance two rhinos or a flier to to death? That is a lot of DeathStar, IMHO, to such a small result. Good against Battle co., I suppose.
C. One TL-BC suit is a total waste, far better for a dual Fusion monat, better yet, throw him in with the rest as out lined below.
D. The better Crisis DeathStar:
Cmdr., two guns (dual PRs or PR/FB), Irid, PEN, VRT, etc.
Vre with MSS and C&CN
More suits that are dual PRs and one or two dual FBs with Target Lock.

Take all your Marker Ds and either have a unit on its own, or put in another cmdr, to be the Drone Controller equipped baby sitter.

SMS is a more useful tool than one TL PR.
