War Convocation bare bones has enough points left over to allow a Skyhammer bare bones.

My question is can minimum sized squads survive and still do work or am I better off focusing on the War Convocation?

I was also thinking of making them Iron Hands for Theme and Survivability.

Most everything from the Convocation will have scout which means I will be in close range and then my Skyhammer will hit and assault at the same time to provide more cover for them.

This idea came to me after GW FAQ stopped drop podding Battle Brothers. As such I have a War Convocation and Drop Pods that need a new use.

Thoughts and suggestions?

I could post the list, but every War Convocation is equipped the same. If you need me to I can.

You'd get 2x5 ASM and effectively 2x5 tacticals. Is a dozen or so bolter shots and some chainswords really going to be that handy to you compared to an additional Imperial Knight or a bunch of kataphrons and/or maxed out skitarii?

ASM don't achieve anything without a full squad and some evicerators in my experience, and taking relentless devs in a drop pod with no heavy weapons is just silly. You might be able to get the Devs to force 2 units to gtg and tie up another with your ASM for a turn to buy time for your infiltrators/rust stalkers to get into position, but I still reckon you'd be far better off with a librarian conclave embedded in your grav kataphrons if you were desperate to fill the remaining ~375 points with marines of some description.

Kataphrons with plasma weapons are one of the best use you can make out of the remaining points, joined by Corteaz for some sweet intercepting plasma blasts
