Hi guys a lot of people at my local club are playing aos and I'm getting more and more tempted especially with the release of the generals hand book, the army I like the look of the most is the seraphon and I like these back when it was fantasy so I'm considering getting the start collecting box to begin with and possibly adding another when I'm ready to bulk up my force and possibly add a squad or two of ripperdactyl or terradon riders and my plan would be to put all the saurus Warriors into one squad to hold my centre and put a squad of saurus cavalry on either flank supported by an old blood on a carnasaur and have the ripperdactyl riders fly up the middle to support the block of saurus but Iv read on a few threads that the saurus cavalry is rather mediocre so is it really worth going down the route of the start collecting boxes or would I be better just buying other units ? Any advice would be greatly appreciated as Iv no experience with aos only 40k

The Seraphon start collecting box has to be, hands down, the best value box set out there. The Carnosaur model by itself is $85, so everything else in that box you get for free. I created my Seraphon army from two Start Collecting boxes (one Saurus Oldblood on Carnosaur and one Troglodon). I added a couple of boxes of Skinks, and an Engine of the Gods. Right now, I'm not running all of them.

I've been playing my Stormcast and working on my Fyreslayers, so I'm not sure how the Seraphon play yet. But, put together a 1000 point army that had many models in it compared to my other armies.

Still, you can't beat the price of the Start Collecting box. Just no better value in a Star Collecting box that I'm aware of. Some come close, but I don't know of another one that has quite the value of that one.

I know it's an amazing value box considering the price and the amount of things you get that's why I was hoping to use it for my base as I can get it with 20% off making it even better I just want to make sure all the models will be pulling their weight before I actually buy anything
