Hey All,

I wanted to know your opinions in how to properly outfit Judicators for Stormcast Eternals. I just picked up two boxes and am contemplating on if I want to go with bows or crossbows.

What would you all suggest?

I'm an adult, I can't even fathom trying to impress a 15 year old. That makes as much sense as getting my cat to think my outfit is 'cool'.

Despite how awesome I think the boltstormers look, the general consensus is the bows are by far the best build. And give your special bow to the champion. :-)

Bye bye Dakkadakka, happy hobbying! I really enjoyed my time on here. Opinions were always my own :-)

Yeah, that's what I do with both my units. The 12" extra range and D6 hits on a 2+ are too good.

AGREEED! Best unit per point in my opinion.

No madam, 40,000 is the year that this game is set in. Not how much it costs. Though you may have a point. - GW Fulchester
The Gatling Guns have flamethrowers on them because this is 40k - DOW III

I found that overall bows are the best option, but if you treat the bolt stormers as a close assault unit - in effect a melee unit with a 12" range - they perform really well.
But bows offer you the most flexibility.

I agree with all posts above. I've never seen anyone using Judicators with boltstorm crossbows, even after a year since their release.
I equip my minimum-sized Judicator units in two ways.

1) Judicator-Prime with Shockbolt Bow & the rest with Skybolt Bows
: Excellent for generating large number of rending shots wounding on 3+.
The units is optimal for sniping lone Hero with bad save(Wizards, for example).
Or even chipping off wounds from tough 3+ save monsters, since the unit has the possibility to generate considerable number of shots.

2) Judicator-Prime with Skybolt Bow, 3 with Skybolt Bow, and 1 with Thunderbolt Crossbow
: While this outfit doesn't generate as much shots as the first option, it's effective against large-sized unit with good save or the ability to ignore rend characteristics.
For example most Seraphon infantry ignore rend values of -1, and the thunderbolt crossbow is very powerful against these units.
Thunderbolt Crossbow can be used to snipe Monsters as it hits on a D6 roll of 1~2, but the chances are low.
Hence my tendency to run at least two units with same loadout to increase such chances.
