Hitech do some great not-Space Marines and not-tech priests, non-sisters of not-battle and well they just put out a great grimdark scribe.

Would you like to know more?

Hitech is available from the War Store in the US but I don't see the scribe yet.

The problem with Hitech and scibor is that the scale is somewhat off IMHO

The real problem with Hi-Tech is that almost every mini has something that takes it a little over the top and into silly/crazy land.

I mean I love 'em, but I can totally see why people would take issue with a lot of their stuff.

Yeah, a lot of times they have a great model, except it has a staff, or wings or whatever that are just too too much.

But they have some nice simple human lords that I'm thinking of getting.

Just the thing for Rogue Trader or Dark Heresy

I might get them, after I paint my Colony 87 civilians, after I paint my Ramshakle wastelanders, after I paint my Heresy gang...

Ooo, I need like 4 of this guy right now.

Their Morbid Angels are great not-Nurgle-Oblits and Mutilators, much better than the ugly GW Versions. The new Traitors Hate formation made me strongly consider to add some more of them.

I had not seen those human lords. Very nice!

This right here is how I feel. I don't care about the scale so much, but HiTech seems to want to be the Liefeld to Scibor's Jim Lee. I've got minis from both companies, but I end up spending all my energy on the Scibor ones because the Hi-Tech minis just go a little too far for me to take them seriously.

Sybil's and Malchior look great, though. They'd be just as at home on Holy Terra as on a cruise to Phloston's Paradise.

I really hope they continue to add to their Biotech Covenant line, the 30k mechanicum book is ripe for this sort of thing.

Their not-Obliterators and not-Mutilators are streets ahead of the official GW ones. The extra scale actually does them some favours in this case.

All you haters... I LOVE Hitech stuff.

LOVE IT.

Just like I loved Rob Liefeld comics when I was 12 or 13. Except I'm much older than that now...

I've got quite a few of the more mundane figures like the Kid posted. They've got a lot of charm.

They have some funky admech types as well if you're into that sort of thing.

I've got almost all of their "Archfathers" line. Those guys are giants in an already large line.

I shall post photos of stuff later when I get home...

I have no problem with over-the-top... I'm one of the three people on the planet who actually likes GW's Space Santa.

For me, the problem with HiTech and Scibor was always that they tried to make up for sub-par sculpting by covering as much of it as possible with rather samey-looking press-moulded panels.

Having said that, HiTech stuff does seem to have come an awful long way from when I last looked at it. That Scribe is actually pretty cool.

I wouldn't put the feedback I'm reading in this thread as hate. Somewhat negative, but not hate. I agree with insaniak that they have come a long way. I also like this Scribe.

For me, my issue with HiTech and Scibor, as mentioned above, was scale. They're a bit on the large side. I have seen them side by side with GW terminators and they are rather large. Off-putting, even. That said, I don't mind the not-mutilators or not-obliterators being large. They are "demonically possessed" whats-its, after all.

I understand if people find them too big to use them as Termis , but for Oblits/Mutis they are perfect. Or perhaps for champions/ Termi-Lords and stuff that has to stick out. Definitely love their design and next to my FW-Nurgle-Termis they look great.

I have one of their fallen angels, Samael, as my winged Daemon Prince.

Well in all fairness I will have him once I paint him, haven't fielded him yet.

Taking advantage of a decent discount offer a while ago, I got him for about 25€ (shipping included). The silly cartoon character GW tries to sell as their plastic DP costs 33€.

Progress is like a herd of pigs: everybody is interested in the produced benefits, but nobody wants to deal with all the resulting gak.

GW customers deserve every bit of outrageous princing they get.

They have really put out some cool new stuff. Some of their figs look cool in an oversized way (I like their blocky look sort of), but the price is high. Still, might get some of the basic human figures some day! Thanks for sharing.

This got posted on Facebook recently- supposed to be a work in progress of a female tech "dominator" (?).

Could be interesting.

I really like when they start doing stuff outside of the typical Space Marine knock offs, as it gives them a chance to be a little bit more original in what they design, if still trying to adhere to GW's admech style.

If that's a female mini, I have to ask when HiTech stopped sculpting in armor-bursting cleavage. That's a huge improvement over the Black Widow terminator mini from back in the day.

They have a whole command set for their "Congregation of Nuns" these days, if nuns in power armor are your kind of thing...

I'm really tempted to turn one into a Stormcast Eternal. I'd have to replace the hammer, though. The Mother Theresa of Doom is just a little too over the top HiTech Miniatures.

Is she available through the War Store?

They also put out this really nice 54mm Admech looking dude that I'll eventually be getting, even if he's a little too big for his buddies to hang out with.

I wonder if they'd consider doing that figure in a smaller scale, or something similar. I really like that figure's design.

Maybe he could be used as a Magos or a Dominus at that size?

I find all of Hitech's stuff looks like a block. A very well sculpted block, with lots of detail, but a block nonetheless. There might be a weapon sticking out, or a slightly raised arm, but they always seem to remain, essentially, a block. And I find it really puts me off. Fluidity of motion or pose are concepts that seem to have escaped their sculptor.

Those human lords are fairly decently generic aside from the fancy hats. I'm considering grabbing them for additional civvies for Infinity.

Are the quality of their models generally good? I'm really not a fan of the FW Russ model, or the GW resin Arjac.

I've been looking at the Odinn model as a replacement for Russ, and possibly one of their other Vikings for Arjac.

About the same as Scibor in my experience. Not flawless, but pretty good.
