Hello fellow Ultramarine!

Well your first major issue is the fact that you're 5 points over. It may not seem like much, but it's a big no no so you'll have to drop some upgrades just to stay in line. I'm not entirely sure what your entire collection includes, but you may wish to consider either running all drop pods or all tanks instead of a mix of both. That way, your theme and attack plan is much more focused and if you choose drop pods, you can have a lot more of them come in on turn one for a bigger alpha strike. The problem with mixing is your army hypothetically comes in piecemeal so an opponent who's good at castling up will be able to focus fire on your waves one at a time and just steam roll you the rest of the game. I think an all drop pod army would suit you well considering you have Sicarius and he's great at being able to bring in reserves reliably. Also is your list more for competitive scenarios or narrative ones?

its a list for competive scenario but i have actually : 20 tactical marines 5 sternsguard 3 devastator centurion 1 predator 5 devastator marines with missile launcher 1 captain 1 command squad 1 venerable dread.

i dont know what focus with that type of units i should go battle compagny ? rainning steel? or Mech army ? i dont really dont what is the best choice for a competitive scenario (1850)

Welcome to Dakka and the Ultramarines.

I think a hybrid drop/mech list can work well. In a competitive environment, I suspect more pods would be better, unless you are going for a full company list and free razorbacks. Depends a lot on the missions and meta.

Terminators are often criticized, and with some valid reasons. Be careful with them, they are not as rugged as the fluff would have you believe. That said, they should do OK in a more casual setting.

Drop pod sternguad melta is a sound tactic.

Sicarius is part of the demi-co. Important for bookkeeping. What your plan for his tac squad buff?

Don’t expect much from the tac squads loaded like that. Not bad for being a minimal tax unit, but not great either. A combi on the sarge would help a lot, and an upgrade to the razor’s guns would give them some teeth.

4xLC is my dev squad of choice. If you are putting them in a rhino (why?) I might suggest just taking 2 grav cannons and having them shoot out the hatch while you roll around..

You cannot just tack on extras without going unbound. Not that this is technically illegal, but almost every environment requires bound lists. A full melta tac squad is a good idea, and can be swapped into the battle company. Grav cents are powerful, but need a little support. If you stick with an unbound list, give them the pod. You can take a loose one as a FA pick and let them ride in it. To do this in a bound list requires a CAD, as empty pods don’t show up in any formations (and you can’t steal the dedicated transport of another unit to start in)
