Hello every1
I would like to ask if its possible fluff wise(iam a fluff freak) to create a warband of chaos who don't believe in the chaos gods so much(they just see chaos as a tool to do the job). They want to destroy the Imperium because they don't think it was the Emperors dream the way the Imperium is today and they shall destroy it so they can rebuild it they way they believe it was the Emperors dream.
As such they don't accept mutation and Demons so good but they believe that they must destroy everything in there way cause everything is taint from the false Imperium.
Would that kind of warband be wrong (I know there is nothing wrong rule wise) would players see them as a chaos warband or they just laugh at me?

Here's my thoughts on that-they'd be corrupted. Use Chaos, get tainted. So while some of them would stay strong and work towards that better future, some would fall to Chaos. In fact, a lot would. Possibly even the leaders.

But overall, it seems like a cool idea.

Sounds like you should look at Alpha Legion or Night Lords lore. Also possibly the Isstvanian philosophy in the Inquisition.

Balanced Game: Noun. A game in which all options and choices are worth using.

Why Aye Ya Canny Dakkanaughts!

Take a look at the Soul Drinkers chapter. Not exactly what you are looking for, as they hate chaos, but they do also hate the imperium.

Realisticly though (yes the realism of 40k) no mortal can 'use' the chaos gods like a tool and no mortal can try to trick the chaos gods. (CREEEEED!)
Your chapter would either have to steer clear from the warp or reluctantly become part of it.
