Subject: Plokoone's Bits- New Shop On Shapeways

Hello everyone,
I recently opened a shop on Shapeways creating 3D printed parts for tabletop miniatures. I plan to focus on making shoulder pads for the most part (because freehanding is a pain ). There are a lot of Chaos Space Marine pads available now but I will be releasing more loyalist pads shortly. All parts are 3D printed in high detail plastic by Shapeways. Thanks for checking this out!

Here's a 3D render:

They're nice but in the UK at least the pricing is off the charts - £18 for a set of shoulder pads isn't going to happen when Forge World's are £11.
£25 for a set of 5 pairs of running legs in fatigues, etc.
Something's gone wrong with Shapeways there I guess?

Bull0, that's about right for shapeways.
You find some decent stuff now and then, but it's priced stupidly most of the time.
You see a lot of knight titan optional parts on there like heads and pads etc.
But at £30 for a head and £55 for a set of pads etc, it's a joke.

Thanks for the feedback. Prices are in US dollars so 10 ten shoulder pads (18 US burger dollars) is actually 14.73 British Pounds
This may work out better for US customers who aren't thrilled with Forge World's shipping costs.
And I agree the running legs are outrageously priced. I made them specifically for the scouts in my army and I don't expect them to be popular at that price but Shapeways fee for manufacturing and labor forces it to be so.

Hate to say it, but even with FWs shipping it's still cheaper anywhere in the world to go to them.
And bits like the blood angels death marks you have for around £14.
You can buy them on eBay for less than £1 each.
And that's the actual BA ones.

I agree with you that the cost might be prohibative to UK buyers, but it's great for us

Your costs will go down if you have them printed on sprues. Shapeways charges per-part because of the amount of labour generated by multiple parts. The most expensive thing is always space and labour.
Because these are being printed rather than injection moulded (like the sprues we're used to), you can put them anywhere. Try to put them in places that won't be seen on a finished model.

The prices display in pounds, so I'm not sure you've got that right. Shapeways probably just charges £=$. Which, yeah, makes it much more reasonable for US customers and a good alternative. The quality appears to be great.

Thanks for the feedback, everyone. I've adjusted my prices.
I've also added shoulder pads for the first founding loyalist chapters in MK7 and MK6 versions (with and without trim) and gotten started on the Blood Angels successor chapters.
Done!

Placed my first order today PLO for some blood angels stuff. Any chance we get the following pads made available?
1. A pad with the Roman numeral IX on it to symbolize the blood angels in their legion days?
2. Aurora chapter. Both tac squads and terminator pads
3. Thousand sons covens like the Corvidae, Raptors etc?
4. Scythes of the emperor
5. Terminator honors for tac squads
6. Mantis warriors

I have a suggestion: a set of right-shoulder pads with 1 different space marine chapters not included on the Death Watch kit. So that people don't have to have two marines from the same chapter!

Hi General,
I appreciate your business!
I'll make some Roman numeral and Legion specific pads after I've made older armor marks.
Here's Aurora, Scythes, and Mantis:

I make Deathwatch sets on order. Message me with a list of ten chapters if you'd like some.

I have plans for winged pads. Your winged helmet wouldn't look something like Captain Eggman, would it?

I don't own any of those. I'll make a note but it will be awhile until I get to them.

Hello everyone,
Right shoulder pads for the Iron Hands clans, Thousand Sons cults, and Dark Angels companies are now available.
I also made an upgrade pack for vanilla chaplains and two sets of skull helmets that were requested by a Night Lords player.

Sorry, I don't believe the detail would be legible at that scale.
