As of late, I don’t play as much as I convert and paint, and I’ve certainly become more of a ‘thematic’ sort of player as time has progressed, preferring a certain aesthetic to pure winning. Naturally, this means I lose a lot, but that doesn’t really bother me.

I have models from all sorts of ranges, and my bits-box is a confusing mess at best, but the only tabletop game I really play is 40K, with the occasional longing glance towards Warmachine or Infinity.

I’m planning on getting a project thread up and running for my next little adventure into the world of building… but that will have to wait until I figure out how to take picture that aren’t terrible.

Well my buddy (Dr. Temujin as he is known on DakkaDakka) has “converted” me to Warhammer 40,00 and helped me pick out my race. I internally thank him whenever I pick up my models, glue arms onto my units, and drybrush Burnished Gold onto the edges of my armor. I curse him when I look at my wallet.

I've been an addict since the end of 2ed 40k (eldar, orks, ba/sm) and have also played fantasy (skaven, high elves) for a few years. Recently gaming is on the back burner and I'm currently on a mission to collect an all metal, all 90s eldar army (tanks excepted). For some reason I'm having the most trouble with troops: guardians, avengers and scouts are all rare as hen's teeth round here, not to mention jetbikes. Oddly enough trademe doesn't have the range of ebay... nice to live at the arse end of the world.

That's another thing; I've not given a dollar to games workshop in ten years, though that's more pragmatism than politics and may change if I ever get a 'real' job. I love this hobby but my bank doesn't. Drugs* aren't cheap either, so it's a balancing act.

Anyway, I look forward to meeting the community and pretending to know what I'm talking about. You'll find me in the tactics forum even though I haven't played more than 5 games in fifth. I'd show off my work, but I've no camera, and it's always wip.

a couple friends and myself were casually strolling through a local hobby store and my friend picked out the wall of warhammer stuff and practically shouted out that we were going to start playing this. we had a short discussion with the staff member about how 40k is more casual and whfb is more like chess and he was instantly sold on fantasy. i actually played 40k about 15 years ago when i was in middle school. i use the word played rather loosely cause i never really got into it but i still have a couple small boxes worth a few hundred dollars in miniatures that were half painted rather poorly. i now own ~1250 points in tomb kings. my friend and his girlfriend play woc and dwarfs respectively.

i'm in the process of putting my models together and am playing with the idea of starting a p&m blog to stay focused and involved. give me some encouragement please as i am rather lazy.

I quit 40k years ago and sold all my models to my big sister so she could give them to her (young) step brothers. I shudder when I think of what must have happened to them. I just got back into it last year, and went a little crazy on models. I have over 3000 points of unpainted Blood Angels! Also have a decent amount of Chaos (Black Legion), Orks (Goffs), And Space Wolves. I also have plans to one day do Biel-Tan Eldar. The rules of Eldrad are appealing, but I already have so much black to paint...

I only have Dante and some Space Wolves painted so far. Bjorn, Iron Priest, Pred Annihilator, Bikes and Grey Hunters.

I have been stocking up on all the metal miniatures I might want before they turn "Finecast". They seem to be getting better at the molding process, but it's still not as consistent as metal. I don't know how they (GW) can continue to call it the 'Eavy Metal team. I guess Air Bubble Resin team just doesn't have the same ring to it.

I build fluffy armies. Armies made of 2 "Lash Princes", loads of Plaguemarines, and 3 Obliterator squads make me sick. Besides, no one wants to play you if they always lose.

Currently playing Necrons, whilst building an Astral Claws force up. Its going terribly slowly as I never get myself motivated enough to paint. Always scared of ruining a good mini! I play the fantasy Warhammer and am in the process of building a Lizardmen army. I'm considering collecting some Tomb King and Light Elf prices later on, but for now its just Lizardmen - which is ok by me because their cool and Aztec-y.

I'm Nezumi.I started wargaming in November of 2011 when I found out about a shop selling warhammer mini's in my local town.At first I was only interested in building and painting a few mini's for my desktop,but after a few games with some very patient club members and realizing just how extensive the lore behind the game was I was curious as to finding out how deep the rabbit hole actually goes.

I'm busy collecting a BT army which is currently standing at a staggering 500 and something points(with some termies on the way).:P

With a little bit of guidance I'm hoping to eventually reach a level where I can do some competition class painting so hints and tips are always appreciated.
