The circles on the edges look easy enough with a drill press and a coring bit, but the series of three straight cut-outs and the three oval shaped ones I can't figure out. Plus, what did you do the get the cuts so precise and straight? I know that the smoothness of the cuts is from sanding, but the precise straightness blows me away.

They almost looks like they were cut by a computer-guided scroll saw...

Perhaps you could make two, and have special rules for them... In game, if you go "in" one, you come out the other...
Shooting would work this way too! (so shooting "through" a portal would potentially allow you to "hit" a target near the other one!
