-Be careful! All of your colours are splattering into each other. Work slower and make sure paint doesn't go where it shouldn't. If you're trying to paint everything with one size brush, then you need to grab a smaller one for detail work.
-Use glue wisely! I can tell my how much of it is slathered on some of your models that you're applying it haphazardly. A little super glue applied with a toothpick will go a long way, and all those fumes from a sloppy glue job can't be good for you!
-Take that extra time to finish up your models before you paint, and minimize that time by prepping more thoroughly. The Chimera turret , for example, shows a ragged spot where you probably just twisted the part off the sprue(use clippers!) and the commanders' cupola is crooked. Many of your models still show mold lines(cut or file these off!), and in some cases such the Guardsmen whose lasgun has been shortened, one can see when things have been brutally cut or clipped. If you're going to remove or replace something, make sure to clean up your work so the conversion looks smooth and deliberate.
-Drill out barrels. It's amazing how much more convincing a gun will be when it ends in a barrel bullets could come out of instead of a solid block of metal.
-Get some washes or learn to dip. If you're not going to bother with blending and highlights then washes or dipping are both easy compromises that vastly improve your models with little effort.


Overall, take more time with each model; take some pride in your work! Nobody is inherently a "bad" painter. Also, your vets have some potential. IMPORTANT: Don't forget to spray them with a basecoat of black primer first! I looks like you skipped this step on a lot of your first models
One other suggestion I have that will greatly improve your models with one easy step is to find a brown ink wash and use it on your models. I think that it would look good on them and provide some much needed shading that will give the models depth and make them feel more real.

Drilling out the gun barrels can look really nice to with little effort. I was lucky and got the mega tool kit from GW and in it, it has a push drill and it works wonders when I was drilling out the barrels of my bolt guns for my Dark Angels. I was sooo pleased I even drilled out the plasma pistol ^_^ you don't need to go out and get this huge set just for one tool all you need is a small enough drill bit and it will work just fine

Try to apply these things in your WIP's and then take sum pics in sure that the differences will me remarkable with just the little differences

Yep so today since i dont have my detail brushes or the paints i need i just basecoted the platoon command squad ( the one that was semi painted ) and a few of the vets and a bodyguard. Tomorrow morning is a 1250pts doubles tourniment so i hope i do as well with them as i did in my last 2 games, oh yea my last game i blew up a valkrie with my command squad, just after it blew up my sentinel, the Russ, and the chimera i was sooooooo happy because if i didnt blow that up i probibly would have lost. But they werent the only ones that saved me, in both games the tide changer was the missile launcher! Though when a Vindicator blows up its own squad with an emps. champion in it it saved me alot of work since it did take the entire game of misslie launcher, sentinel, heavybolter, grenade launcher, and plasma gun ( which is alot! ) to take out his Chaplen. I never thought those guys would be so hard to kill !!! ok i'll try to get pics up of tomorrows torniment up ok see ya later!

It seems that you have invested a lot of points into your leman russ, which can be risky if the enemy has decent anti-tank. I'd suggest removing the hunter killer missile (ten points for a one shot weapon isn't worth it and you can only have one).

Also, make sure that each platoon squad has no more than a single special weapon and no more than a single heavy weapon.

If you are going to run shotgun vets I'd suggest taking Harker (he will give you better cover saves, but prevent you from taking carapace. In my experience, however, cover saves are far better to be relied upon because they can be modified by going to ground(+1) and there are a lot more AP4 than weapons that deny cover. Cover shouldn't be too hard to find in this game, but then again, a mobile unit such as yours might find itself out in the open a lot). Also, taking Harker will allow you to infiltrate OR outflank AND he can move and shoot his heavy bolter. Those are just some ideas that may or may not work for your army. Ultimately it depends on how you, as a general, make the units in your army work together.
