Imperial Armoury: Stocking Curious Constucts!

www.imperialarmoury.co.uk is a new webstore selling Imperial Guard bits.

Why only one range, I hear you ask? Looking around other bits websites it seems it's impossible to keep high stock levels for the entire Games Workshop range, so I have decided to focus on a single range in order to keep consistantly high stock levels.

The shop is new, nothing has sold out yet and I plan on restocking as frequently as is neccessary to make sure that stock levels remain high.

Anyone who orders by 10.00am GMT tomorrow will have their order shipped tomorrow.

Personally, I think this is a great idea, especially if you can keep all the "high demand" bits in stock this way.

Something to consider might be adding some of the third-party Guard conversion bits to your site. Make it a 'one-stop" site for all your Guard bitz needs. Not sure how the logistics of that would work out; just a thought I had.

Definitely +1 on this. It might also be an idea to stock some of the conversion stuff that comes from Poland or the US. I quite often get MAS stuff from UK sellers, simply because I'm impatient and don't want to wait (or pay) for the delivery from other parts of Europe!

Oooh, this right here is a very good idea!

Really nice, simple website, more than reasonable prices and everything appears to be in stock for the moment.

I really like the idea of a one stop shop, always get frustrated going through other bits sites so this really helps.

Just wish this site had been up and running a year ago, would have saved me a fortune when doing my last guard army!

It's a cool idea...I think you will find that it is hard to maintain stock of the important high value items while the less important items will pile up. There are two ways to deal with this: one is to raise the price on the more valued item, which is why you sometimes see melta guns going for $8 US on Ebay. The other is to sell by the sprue: it's not as specific as bits, but it's much less of a logistical nightmare for you.

You can sell in sprue combinations that people often want. For example, most people don't want 1 infantry squad, so sell a "power blob" bundle containing 2 power weapons (3rd party manufacture), 2 infantry squads, and a commissar with power weapon model. A "Vet squad" bundle would probably consist of an infantry squad, 3rd party heads of the buyer's choice, 3 3rd party special weapons of the buyer's choice, etc.

Aye, I'd agree, looking over the list it looks like your Lascannons and Melta Guns went pretty sharpish. But at £1.50 for the Melta and £1 for the Lascannon, they would do.

I'd check places like ebay and see which are the items demanding the highest price and adjust prices to some level accordingly.
Not saying you should have them for £5 more or anything, but if you have melta guns priced at the same price as heavy flamers, you'll never sell certain bits, and will struggle to keep up with the ones folks want.

Its simple price and demand.

For example if I was to buy from your heavy section all I'd want is the six crouching legs, three stands, three lascannons and three shields. The rest I can cover or have the spares for. Thats a total of £8.40, and other than the three Autocannon bits, and three missile launchers another £6 I could see folks buying.. I'd see the rest selling very slowly. I'd be weary of cash flow issues building up also as that barely costs the price of the box from a discounter, even worse if paying full price and splitting.

Just some thoughts. Other than that an interesting site.

You have to get the bases separately if you don't have any spares kicking around. It's a very good price for a guardsman though!

Catachans have been ordered and should arrive early next week. I have the photographer coming on Thursday to photograph them and they [i]should[/i] be on the site by Friday, barring any hiccups.

They are from Forge World's Ellysian range and can therefore be used in Games Workshop stores and tournaments. I would advise against investing too heavily in those Greatcoat Shock Troopers, as I personally find them to be of lacking quality.

They look much better in person but that wouldn't be hard considering what the photo's look like. I had a similar thought, so I just got the one box and will get more if/when they sell.

I will probably do that with the defiance games and mantics stuff when they comes out, put a box up so they are there if anyone wants them and then restock once they have sold enough.

@SkaerKrow - The error you're getting will be down to Fortinet and the site not having an SSL yet, this is being worked on. Can you send me a screen print though?

Firefox and IE work fine, Chrome can have issues but is easily resolved. If anyone is having a problem the first thing to do would be to clear your cache and cookies. If this doesn't fix it please PM me directly as this will be faster the PM'ing Kai for him to PM me.

Any one who had/has problems with payment via paypal please let me know urgently, this should be fixed but as I have not yet tested it I can't be sure.

Any issues with the functionality of the site that I have not just addressed please continue to post here and I will monitor and fix them where needed or advise I believe it to be on your end.

Plus that's fair enough about the cost of it, but let's say you buy an infantry squad at £36 you get 10 troops lets say you sell the arms for £1 a set and the body's at £4 each that's already a 40% profit margin. From the one squad.

Do you have it set up so that it only shows parts in stock? It seems to be that way. In the link you provided for me (thanks btw!) it shows trackguard B but that's it.

Figured I'd point it out just in case it was a bug or something.

Also, have you thought about carrying the DKoK officer set? Comes with lots of pistol arms and cool stuff like power weapons and chainswords. I don't know what really sells on your site, but might be something worth looking into.

And one more question, I thought I saw somewhere you were contemplating carrying the defiance games marines as bits as well. If you decide to stock those, that'd be awesome. There's a certain head in the box that I love that you only get 12 of (for 24 guys in the box) and I'd probably run you out of those so fast it wouldn't even be funny

Do you leave all you mail unanswered or are you having some issues with html mail-referancing?
Anyways, I was wondering why i cant find Leman Russ Battlecannon mount, and barrel? I find the Vanquisher BC, but not the regular, and certainly not the mount.
I recently bougth a LemanRuss Demolisher, but i want the option to put a battlecannon in it as well.
And i also want to know if you are able to stock forgeworld bits?

And while im at it, why is there no Dozerblades in the Accessory sprue to Chimera?

Rogue Wolves is spot on in that items out of stock don't show up. Unfortunately, it's the only way I have to stop people buying out of stock items.

If there is anything specific you would like restocking please mention it here, or email or PM me. I tend to restock by looking at what items are short, but if you contact me then I can do that first. I will, of course, get some more Russ parts in. I'm currently restocking the Cadian Battle Force, Catachan Battle Force, Hellhound Tank and Leman Russ (in that order). The first three are in the post and I'm about to order the Leman Russ parts now.

Concerning ForgeWorld, I am able to add them but generally only do kits that people express interest in (eg. Bob's Grenediers), as the turnaround and margins are generally too low to try to stock every guard item they do. An exception exists for Elysian weapons as special weapons are in high demand.

New stuff coming up includes Baneblade (very soon). After that it will be Aegis Defence Line and Bastion parts.

Well a quick look at his site provided the following

"I have recently got married and am off on my honeymoon. Unfortunately this means that any orders placed between the 4th and the 19th of September will be posted on the 20th of September. All orders placed during this period will receive free shipping."

My last order took over a month to make it.
A month after it was shipped, not a month to ship it.
But, I have given him money for another purchase, prior
to his marriage, and now he's nowhere to be found. Based

For Each model field, such as your great coat trooper section under Wargames Factory, Id recommend having a general picture of a completed model using those parts painted so people looking can get the idea of what the finished model would look like right next to the parts they could possibly buy or be interested in.
