The release of the New Dakka has prompted the return of the Dakka Painting Challenge! For those of you who weren't around when it was originally started, this is your chance to show the rest of Dakka what you're made of!
The Rules
- Abide by the spirit and guidelines of the Challenge presented.
- Take a WIP shot of your model before painting.
- Paint your model!
- Take another shot of the completed model and send it in to DakkaPaintingChallenge@dakkadakka.com with your Dakka Handle as the photo's filename. Also be sure to include your dakka handle in the email, just in case. Oh and be sure it's in before Midnight Central (GMT-6:00) the night of the Deadline!!
- The day after the deadline, all the entries will be presented for all of Dakka to see! Along with this will be a poll for the community at large to pick their favorite from the bunch.

February 2011 - Dakka Killteam Kompetition
This painting challenge was to model up and paint the coolest looking single Deathwatch Space Marine imaginable or even an entire Deathwatch kill team if they were really ambitious! The Space Marines of the Deathwatch use advanced and often experimental or unique weapons. Their goal is to hunt down and destroy the vile Xenos threat that plagues the empire of mankind.

October 2009 - Nitty Gritty Armor
This challenge was to paint a Tank/Skimmer/Walker/APC and make it feel/look real and used! Dakkaites were challenged to use all the techniques they'd wanted to use for years but never quite had the right project to try them out on: Water Streaks, Oil Marks, blast damage, paint chipping, rust, mud, dirt, dust, jet exhaust, scorch marks, etc, etc, etc.

March 2009 - Jungle Warfare
Just in time for St. Patty's Day, this challenge was to model and paint up one of the many jungle fighters from the big wide galaxy. Dakkaites were challenged to break out their snipers stalking through the bush for their target, their wanna be Rambos or camouflaged alien monsters ready to pounce and tear the weak to shreds. Use all those green paints and get the best foliage glued on! War is hell, and hell is in the Jungles!

October 2008 - Bump in the Night
With Halloween looming, the challenge was to create the absolute creepiest model you could think of! All those ghosts, ghouls, zombies, demons, vampires or just generally creepy looking models in your collection need lovin too! So break out the pallid flesh paints and test out those blood effects! Pick a model and go jeepers creepers on em!

August 2008 - Old School
The Challenge was to find an old model from your collection, or just go out and get an old model that's been gathering up dust on the shelves of your FLGS, and do it justice and finally give it the paint job it deserved all those years ago when it was released!

March 2008 - Oi! Whose Da Best!?
This challenge theme was all 'bout those big baddies that we love so much. Contestants picked their favorite Ork, Orc, Troll, Ogre, Ogryn, Barbarian or other big, mean and nasty model, and gave 'im some paint!
