I'm wondering what the general spread of anti tank weaponry and tactics are across all factions is.

Poll is incomplete. Most armies' answer to vehicles is high ROF and intermediate S/AP/damage, not low AP/high ROF or high AP/low ROF.

I tend to focus things down with high strength first then if I need to bracket it I'll ping tanks or whatever with low strength weapons to finish/bracket a model.

This is really a question that depends on the matchup.

Dark Reapers - S5 or S8, -2AP, 2/3 DMG shots
Crimson Hunter Exarch - Pulse Laser and starcannons doing flat 3 damage and D3 damage at S8 and S6.
Smites from Farseers to finish off tanks/high roll if I have nothing better to buff.
3 Fire Prisms

Ok, I can add that, which weapons are you thinking of?

It depends. For the most part, heavy armor isn't really challenging to service, because it's not that heavy.

As guard, I mostly use Battle Cannons, Lascannons, and a Shadowsword.
As sisters, I mostly use Meltaguns, Exorcists, Eviscerators, and pinning them in close quarters combat with my own tanks until I want to service them.
As space wolves, I mostly use Thunder Hammers and Lascannons.
As custodians, I poke 'em with the pointy end until they die.

Guardsmen, hear me! Cadia may lie in ruin, but her proud people do not! For each brother and sister who gave their lives to Him as martyrs, we will reap a vengeance fiftyfold! Cadia may be no more, but will never be forgotten; our foes shall tremble in fear at the name, for their doom shall come from the barrels of Cadian guns, fired by Cadian hands! Forward, for vengeance and retribution, in His name and the names of our fallen comrades!

My new Iron Hands army just spams massed AP-2 or better shots. In a single salvo, I can fire -

* 8 Laser Destroyer shots (S10, AP-5, 3-6 damage)
* 12 Krak Missile Shots (S8, AP-3, d6 damage)
* 36 Assault Cannon shots (S6, AP-2, 1 damage)
* 36 Heavy Bolter Eq. shots (S5, AP-2, 1 damage)
* 5 Stalker Bolter Shots(S4, Ap-3, 2 damage)
* 12 Ironhail Stubber Shots (S4, Ap-2, 1 damage)

That's a LOT of firepower, especially considering half of it hits on a 2+ and re-rolls misses, and most of it re-rolls 1's to wound as well. Good luck playing heavy armor against this.

My thoughts behind the poll were that some factions rely on the 3+ save so are weakest to high ap guns like las cannons etc whereas some use invulnerable saves that makes high ap less useful than higher rate of fire, lower ap guns like assault cannons more useful.

I have 1 rocket launcher and one twin lascannon, and storm bolters with largest squad being str 5 -2save mod. And melee although reaching stuff in melee is hard.

If you have to kill, then kill in the best manner. If you slaughter, then slaughter in the best manner. Let one of you sharpen his knife so his animal feels no pain.

As Drukhari I rely on Dissintegrators; so high ROF, high AP but low S, Haywire for mortal wounds and Talos to punch them in combat.

Try to work around it. Lock it down if viable. My lists tend to not include enough AT (mostly because I can't count on the combined firepower of a Wraithcannon and Fire Dragon squad finishing off a half-dead DE Raider, apparently... Dice hate me...)

Depends on the sub-faction.

Ravenguard I tend to rely on Thunderhammers and Seige Drills because I can deliver a bike Captain and a couple of Veteran Biker Sergeants to the far table edge and put Assault Centurions right on your doorstep on turn one.

Imperial Fist I'm abusing the D+1 super doctrine and spamming Assault and Onslaught cannons since it takes the same number of Assault Cannon Equivalents and Lascannon Equivalents to kill a Russ under those rules, and it's a lot harder to spam Lascannons in a Marine army. ...and LCs are worse against pretty much everything else. (I FULLY expect that to get errata within the first week.)

I make fish kebabs out of tanks with my Achillus Dreadnoughts.

140 point bois doing 4 S14 -3 D6 (Min 3d) attacks + 4+ to do d3 MW on the charge normally do the trick.

For everything else: VERTUS... PRAETORS!

There have been plenty of hysterical responses from both sides so far. So we descend into pointless bickering with neither side listening to each other. So posting here becomes more masturbation than conversation.

As an Eldar and Tyranid player back in the day it was either Fire dragons or a Carnifex.

While using the correct tool for the job is important, it also comes down to tactics. This could be diverting a heavy unit's attention with a tough nut while using a fast melee unit to close the distance and take them down. But this is not always going to work if the unit is protected by nearby units that can put up a decent fight with the melee unit. A Space marine army ,for example, is very flexible in this situation if not all.

Casual gaming, mostly solo-coop these days.

As every army I have except Ad Mech was built prior to 6e, a lot of high str/low RoF heavy weapons.

Next would come Meltaguns, PFs, & melta bomb or equivlants.

Autocannon-type things. Plasma. Avenger gatling cannons. Heavy burst cannons. Stormcannons. Caladius iliastus cannons. Battle cannons. The key is that it fires a whole bunch of shots and those shots are D2 or Dd3, Strength and AP are nice but almost optional (especially if you've got stratagems to give you +to wound).

Personally things like heavy burst cannons are exactly what came to mind when I was thinking about high rof, low ap weapons but ymmv of course.
But overall it's nice to see that it's a pretty varied list of votes so far. Looks like the las cannon type still just edges it but it would seem to show that the system supports a flexible approach.

My tyranids deal with heavy armour by taking GSC allies. Or by just taking enough bodies that they struggle to kill them all.

Brightlances, pulse lasers, MWS.

I will sometimes spam mid S hits. I prefer the AC on my pred over the TLLC for example. And if I have an assault cannon with some re-rolls in range, I’ll take the shot if I need to shave one or two more wounds off. But generally I use the big guns to hunt big game.

Varies from list to list. In my main competitive list every unit is a threat to every enemy unit. Doomsday Arks have a low ROF high AP weapon and 2 high ROF medium AP weapons, Immortals have such high ROF they can threaten any unit without a 2+ Sv and S5 makes them excellent against T8 units. Then I have some characters and a Triarch Stalker but they are just there to support the rest of my army.

I also have a list that relies on melee and MW to deal damage to vehicles, but mostly I rely on my S10 AP-5 d6 Damage doomsday cannons to deal with enemy armour. In my main casual list I instead rely on Heavy Destroyers S9 AP-4 d6 damage a bit but mostly on my Destroyers with their S6 AP-3 d3 Damage weapons and the re-roll failed hits and wounds Stratagem as well as wrapping enemy tanks in melee to stop them from shooting.
