Be better if the people who vote also provide a comment -- it is a discussion board after all.

Ideally those who vote would be those who've read/bought the magazine, but we can't really enforce that so keep your internet poll broomstick of skepticalness ... ? ? ..... or whatever to hand when reviewing the results.

be extra handy if you could say which bits you really did/didn't like, what you'd like tweaked or added and so forth.

This months issue delayed to coincide with the release of the new edition of 40k.

--- there's possibly a comment about subscription issues arriving to be made here, but let's see what happens.

"Okay, folks. So, we set a little challenge off the back of Dan's recent appearance on Warhammer Live – get us enough likes and we'd let Dan recreate the Last Stand at Glazer's Creek. Well, as some of you liked the page, and others liked the post (and a lot more of you shared it – thanks!), the results weren't quite so clear cut… but there was clearly a lot of enthusiasm, so well done everybody, you've made Dan's day. We're going to recreate the battle in a future issue. It might be a little while yet – we want to do it justice – but your efforts have paid off and Dan is a very happy man.

So, why not let us know what other classic battle reports you'd love to see re-fought, recreated or updated in the magazine? There might be the opportunity for a few of them…"

I'd like the WD team versus Design studio match ups once again.

I just received my copy yesterday, so I imagine everyone else'll be getting their copies soon as well. An ok issue. The battle report wasn't too bad, although I found it a bit predictable. I liked the Primaris marines painted up in different chapter colors. Could have used some more design notes on the Primaris Marines as well, sketches and such would have been interesting.

It was also my first good look at the Nurgle forces that come with the new boxed set. Aside from the leader, they're all pretty bad in my opinion. The Poxwalkers are really quite terrible, so it wasn't much of a surprise to learn that Aly Morrison had a hand in their design. Some of the Plaguemarines are ok, but they obviously bear the hallmark of that guy who had his army featured in an old issue of Warhammer Visions. I don't know why they felt the need to take a great model like the Blight Drone and bling it out like they did. They ruined a good, simple design with needless ostentation, but I guess that's the M.O. for modern GW digital sculpting techniques. Real curious what'll be in next month's issue.

I haven't bought an issue of white Dwarf in years, and having just spotted it in Tesco I treated myself (£6! Bloody hell..)

Now, bear in mind I don't play the game but have been a lover of all the fluff and imagery since it was Roger Trader, I am disappointed to say the least. What happened to all the great artwork? It's a sad state of affairs that the best picture in the magazine is that old painting of the Emperor by John Blanche - and I don't even like Blanche! Why do the Plague Marines look so...clean? Is all this still being directed at children, so has to be toned down for them? It's like everything is a PG when it should be an 18 certificate.

The figures are rather bland too - the Primaris Marines just look like upgraded Mk IV suits, and the Plague Marines don't do the fluff any justice at all. The Poxwalkers look ridiculous.

"Bloody typical, they've gone back to metric without telling us."

"As the days go by, we face the increasing inevitability that we are alone in a godless, uninhabited, hostile and meaningless universe. Still, you've got to laugh haven't you?"

"We demand rigidly defined areas of doubt and uncertainty!"

"Mind the oranges Marlon!"

I felt the magazine did what it had to, covering 8th edition. But a lot of the thunder of the magazine had been stolen by weeks of online coverage before the magazine even came out.

Also, what the hell? New edition, and no miniature or other giveaway? A lost opportunity to bundle at least the Battle Primer version of the rules with the magazine. Right now, there is not a lot to recommend in this issue. 6/10.

I'd hoped for a freebie snap together Primaris like they did with the Stormcast Eternals.

Are there any quest or shadow war articles in this issue? It'll be a whiel til I'm able to get the issue in my hands...

Poorly lit photos of my ever- growing collection of completely unrelated models!

I felt this month's magazine rather lacking. While I was looking forward to it, it failed to keep my attention more than just skimming through it and quickly going back to my shiny new rulebook. As someone who deeply enjoys Xenos lore and conflict I felt it focusing heavily on Marines and to a lesser extent Nurgle. It sort of felt like a glory roll of the Ultramarines. That makes sense with the new starter box but I would have liked a nod that there are other factions.

As others I was really hoping for a model or at least the folded 8 page card stock of rules to give to some friends who are interested in the game. 6/10

Are the Paint Splatters any good? Thats what I buy White Dwarf for.

It seemed senseless to delay the magazine as much as they did, with really nothing in it that had not been all over the internet on their own website already, and no bonus item of any kind.

The paint splatters featured the Primaris Captain and the Death Guard Lord. Nothing particularly mind blowing, I thought.

I believe the delay had more to do with setting up the new distributor than spoilers for 8E.
