All the old timers have amassed some pretty huge collections over the years. I was just wondering exactly how large some of those collections were. How many models (counted by base, so 1 tank = 1 model, 1 tyranid ripper swarm = 1 model, 1 space marine = 1 model) do you think you have roughly?

Should I count non-wargame mini's?

like D&D or Heroclix? Lets just call it anything you have to assemble and paint.

1-100 is what I put down. I haven't been in the hobby long plus I got rid of a bunch of 40k stuff. I might have a little more than 100. I'm too lazy to count/check.

Holy crap.... i just realized i was only counting 40k, Warmachine, and Hordes. If I counted my Star Wars then I'm hitting something like 500.

I had to guess, since most of my minis are currently Stateside. I voted 101-500, but it's definitely on the upper end of that. I was counting off the top of my head, and I know I've forgotten some stuff. I also was counting Flames of War infantry bases as 1 (but they have 3-5 figures on them). If I counted those 15mm guys out one by one, I would definitely break into the 501-1000 range (and it's close anyway).

When I get back, one of the things I want to do is actually catalog everything I have, and put it into an Excel sheet or something, just so I know. I'll share here whenever I actually do that.

I always end up selling the painted ones that I don't like any more, or give away/sell the sprues that I know I'll never get to (I know, shock, heresy!). So I doubt it gets over 1000 that often.

Guessed its 1500 in 40k.
Maybe another 300 in whfb.

I've been collecting minis since 1981. Not all GW, but all ones that you assemble&paint, lines that have died off like Grenadier and Ral Partha are the majority of my early figs.

Add to that the number of GW models (over 1k in orks alone), and I pass the 5k line, just by a little.

Not sure if I should be scared (or scarred) by this.

Mostly guard. I put them on one-by-one, and I need a dutpan when the foe has his turn to get them off.

I've got over 4,000 6mm figures and about 3,000 2mm figures.

2mm figures come in blocks so I counted the blocks not the individual heads.

I'm guessing @2000. Easily 1000+.

This is of course including unbuilt, unpainted in my stash. If you want to narrow it to built models then you are probably half that... easily 500+ built and painted.

I haven't taken inventory in a year or so, but here's the estimates from the last time.

Approximately 3000 BattleTech minis (including Mechs, Infantry, Tanks, WarShips, etc) - about 2/3rds of which was accumulated during the year and a half I worked for Iron Wind Metals.

About 500 WFB and 40K minis (infantry-heavy Skaven, Brettonians, and gunline Imperial Guard).

About 250 LotR minis of various types (mostly Gondor and Mordor).

About 300 bases worth of Napoleonics (French, 1814+ Prussians, early Austrians)

About 200 bases worth of various Ancients

Plus around a hundred bases each for FoW, BattleFleet Gothic, Warmaster, Crimson Skies, and Renegade Legion.

And perhaps 250 various and sundry individual fantasy or sci-fi figures for RPG gaming.

So about 5000 in total.

lol its looks like a bomb went off and threw sprue shrapnel everywhere. I had to go bitz hunting for parts to my Hellhound conversion, and since I keep most bitz in the boxes with their respective armies- theirs IG, SM, and ork & chaos boxes all over....been too lazy to get them back on the shelves...

Back in 2001 a friend and I stopped counting at 10,000 assembled minis, we didn't even bother with the cupboard and a half of stuff still on boxes.

But a huge chunk of that was sold off to let be buy minis during my medical degree... like my 600 praetorians, 100 rat skin auxillaries and 40 tanks from my IG army.

I chose 1-100. I am trying to sell off my Orks so I'm not counting them. I have 28 models for my crimson fists, I'm just starting with them. If I counted everything then it would be around 101-500 as my orks number over 100 by themselves.

I voted 101-500, although I think it might be a touch over 500.

Just count the painted ones that you're most likely to keep.

My inventory on a per-base basis fluctuates, but has been steadily between 1200 and 1800 minis for years now.

I doubt I'll break 2000, and simply can't see breaking 5000.

Counting everything, it's probably slightly over 500. Maybe about 600. I'm tempted to do an exact count.

I have little space, so I keep things small scale. Probably less than a hundred, although I will do that Space Marine Company one day...

I know I'm over the 500+ amount at this point. I was probably closer to a 1000 near 5 months ago, but I've wheeled and dealed since then.

Well, I counted up my chaos army and found i have over 200 in that army alone. I have three other armies of similar size, plus loads of old minis from games like Heroquest. To make a more informed guess than before, I'd say the total is just over 1000

I imagine that I have 1000-5000 models.
But honestly going near the top (around 3000-4500 I think).

I don't even play fantasy anymore,
And I have 400 High Elf Spearmen and 400 more High Elf archers.

I have at least a few hundred marines (Just the bolter kind).

I have exactly eighty-eight.

at one point in time i had over 5000. I've since sold a significant portion of my stuff and I'd say i'm between 1 and 2 thousand. I'm working on selling more of that and trimming my stuff down to my CSM and Demon stuff and whatever I'd use for D&D if I was to actually play.

I've also curtailed my buying severely. I had more on a self imposed moratorium of all hobby stuff while I was miserable and married. That was about 4 years. Now that I'm painting again, I'm only allowing myself to buy a new unit if I have finished painting one "project" or sold a box of unused stuff.

Project is defined as one big model for apocalypse (like my Brass Scorpion i just finished) or a bunch of like models. The 25 Furies I just finished and the 40 Bloodletters I'm 98% done both count as one project each.

Can't do an exact count, at the moment, but I know I'm around 150 between my relatively small armies of Orks and SM and 40K is the only miniature game I've ever collected, so aside from a handful of miscellaneous models I made as a kid, that's all she wrote.

I'm refusing an exact count, I approximated based on what was in cases, how many roughly with how i packed the eggshell foam ones how many each had.. multiplied it, added tanks/MC's, chariots etc... It still took more time than I liked. It worries me what I'd have if I hadnt sold or gave stuff away now and then. I at least still have room for a bed just now

About a hundred, actually. About 35 CSM (my main Army, actually ), 45 orks (various AobR stuff), tyranids, Guardsmen, a few eldar...Just random stuff really.

I actually do not know the true number of miniatures that I own but my last inventory of just Battletech miniatures five years ago netted a number around 600. I have since started playing other games like Warmachine (3 full factions) 40k (see sig for how many points and of what) and Wargods of Aegyptus (2 large warbands). Plus I still buy Battletech miniatures so I have to be somewhere in the 2000-2500 range.

It is kinda gross when you lay out your addiction like that in writing.

Not sure about my Warhammer models, but I have exactly 496 Warmachine/Hordes figs sitting around.

5,000+ as I have collected every army fom WH40 since day 1, and just started putting my WHF army back together with DoW, not to mention all my mini's for the many RPG's.

I would have to say around 1200 minis, most are Warhammer. But alot is also for Flames Of War

My parents though, jeeze if you included all the historicals and the rest it's probably over 10,000, and there's a few thousand plastic kits in the attic.

Depends on the count, assembled and at least base coated ~300 (my vote). Altogether counting my unassembled back log and miniatures I've bought for bits and conversions (and no intention of ever assembling as-is) ~1000.

I really must get better at getting stuff done.

I'm the sort that sells a fair bit in order to buy more, and I'd guess at 1200-1400 total models ever owned... I have a couple if hundred still on the sprue.

Well i "just" have Eldar (since 2nd edition), have A LOT of eldar, like a complete 120 guardian foot slogger 2K army, a 2K wraithzilla army, enough for 2 complete mech armies, plus 1-2 full units of EVERYthing in the codex (its one complete Ulthwe army, dont know how many points, biggest i played was i think 8K, not using everything).

That and skaven (goes as long back as well, dont remember starting edition, maybe fourth).

They bring the model count up a lot I have350+ clanrats and slaves and about 100 plague monks, well and about 18 rat ogres

So this bring me in the 500-1000 category, with just two armies.

Most of my minis come from my horde-like Dark Elf army. Sure, most of my units are a paltry S3T3, but you'll have to kill every single last one. I often outnumber skaven with my army's numbers. Early days yet though, only in the 2.5k range, and I've got some Empire units and some Space Marines, a paltry few Orks, Eldar & Night Lords and about three half-finished LotR armies, one Warmachine starter box, and some dystopian wars. I put down 101-500, but couldn't be bothered to count most of it to get an exact number. It will be in the high end of said spectrum, possibly even tipping over to the 500 point mark.

Currently 1-100, though in all my time of gaming, would have to say 101-500.

I have a whole Chaos fantsy army from the early 90s plus countless space marines from the rouge trader era.On the space marine tip i have another army from the late 90s early 2000s....(i should touch them all up as repaints????do some before and afters shots?)The list just goes on and on.

At least 500 in just 40K; horde Orks make up the majority. I have FoW and Battletech, but those are both pretty minimal.

Let's see... Goblins, Night Goblins, Orcs... yeah that's a lot of bases... and I'm not counting the Necrons still wrapped up in the box waiting for a new codex.

If i wouldn't have sold off my armies a number of times, I would be breaking the 5k line. The last army i had was a 9k point eldar army. along with space marines, DE, space marines, Chaos marines, sisters of battle, Chaos marines, and tau. But, we know how it is. Selling armies because of one reason or another.

Between 500-1000, but keep in mind that that figure isn't very impressive once you realise that most of it has been mantic models bought for around 40p each in big bulk buys.

I'll be well over 1000 next year after the Perry's release their Knights, going to start an absolutely huge Empire army to replace my old one.

I'm not 100% sure but it probably at the upper end of the 501-1000 mark. I guess that is what happens when you have a large marine, DE, and IG force, with some BT, chaos marine, tau, necron and ork armies...must...not...start...eldar...or...hey I like the new nid models

I once took inventory of all my Warzone metals and came up with over 1500 figures. I also have a full eldar army, ork army. and orc army also hundreds of Vor, Void, Chronopia, and other misc. figures.

Little bit over 100, which surprised me, because I don't have a massive amount of any one thing. But it shouldn't have really, I've been collecting for a long time, and I've got a few small armies. Small Ork army, small lizardmen army, and a small High Elf army. It adds up, I guess!

probably 500 painted and at least the same again unpainted. i have three large tubs of unpainted miniatures sitting here waiting to be painted, all that lovely lead and plastic, and i reckon it'll be at least a decade i i stopped buying new minis today. but i keep seeing minis i want to paint!

I definitely have more than 100 minis, but definitely not more than 500. Probably in the range of 200-250 at this point.

I stopped even trying to keep track after the first 1000, but I'd say somewhere between 2-3000, although 500+ are still on sprues.
