I'm totally lost, last thing I did was the warp storm. Btw, I don't worship a particular god, I'm with Chaos Undivided. (Just answering the GM's old question)

Post by: Catos

The marines and the tau all have a personal oh s**t moment as the legions of necrons start advancing in their direction as missile strikes fall from the sky, an Ultra orbital bombardment. Soon the necrons are in disarray as it seems that the necron lord was destroyed in the blast. However, a paraiah of some sorts steps up onto a rock and is zapped with green lightning coming from the earth, sending huge lumps ito the sky. The paraiah steps out of the dust cloud and looks suitably more menacing.

Shas' etc...

A: call for backup (recommended)
B: charge in on your own
C: other

Undivided (ps. your warpstorm overheated but you passed your armour save)...

A: Take advantage and attack
B: Idiot Wars episode 4 (e.g. another warpstorm)
C: other

Thingamagica.

Congrats, you are now a paraiah/necron lord!

A: ATTACK XD!!!!!!
B: ATTACK XD!!!!!!
C: other (e.g. attack XD!!!!!!)

A Tau peeps, we should really call for help. Shall I do it? If so then, "Shas'O we are under heavy fire from a horde of necrons, need reinforcements, we need everything possible ASAP!!!"

Shas'kais, you get a reply saying that the shas'o has been killed by a necron pylon shot to the face (ouch!). They also say that reinforcements are on their way.
Undivided, your reinforcements are on the way.
Ledabot, despite your stealth armour, the necrons still have your position and they shoot towards you.
Thingamagica, same as last time.

Shas'kais:
A: Shoot
B: Assault
C: Wait

Undivided:
Open choice

Ledabot: Same as Shas'kais

Post by: Catos

Shas'kais, you recieve a communication detailing that basically you have been promoted to a Shas'o. However, this message takes far longer than you would expect and winds up taking half an hour. But this is enough time for your reinforcements to arrive. You have quite a few new shiny toys (yayID!). Undivided at the same time you gain your Cadian reinforcements. Shas'davre arrives at the battle zone, seeing an army of tau and space marines battling necrons.

All Tau:
A: Fire all weapons!
B: Reinforce Catos and his space marines
C: (Shas'kais only) other

Undivided:
Free Choice

OK then that was unexpected but wahoo I am a commander!!! OK I assume I get a good battlesuit then, if so I will send a transmission asking for my battlesuit, ok now time for a bit of payback, but I will make it slow, first off it is a horde is'nt it, then this will take us a long time and we could die. So heres a solution, I advise we retreat for a while and create a camp that we can get supplies to, then once we have enough forces and supplies, attack the Necrons. Guys do you think it is a good idea?

Idiot Wars, Episode 1, Attack of the space marines

The Chaos marine troops are drastically outnumbered. They are pushed back and after the battle is over, only one squad is left. The tau squad is predominantly intact. What do you do with your pitifully small amount of your army.

This proves that base attacking a tau army as the first thing you do on arrival is NOT a good idea.

But this is only the start. The incompetence of some idiots will be proved in Episode 2, the chaos marines strike back
Episode 2 coming soon

Idiot Wars, Episode 2, The chaos Marines Strike back.

Yes, they strike back, and die a miserable death.
This has happened before. Don't say i didn't warn you.

Idiot Wars, Episode 3, A new Flop,

Unfortunately for you, a large chunk of the teleport module was knocked out during the artificial earthquake. The teleporter teleports you, but it accidentally teleports your squad of marines as well, and it teleports you to the northern magnetic pole which is rather too warm and bright for you.
The communications are not working either and the orbital bombardment is not ordered.

However, the Ultramarines are still in the battle, orbital strikes landing every few seconds, but they seem to be fighting a losing battle, a final push would see them defeated.

All Tau Players are in the forest, creating a camp which is becoming harder as the rain starts falling harder.
A: Abandon all hope
B: Try to gain contact with other tau.
C: (Shas'kais only)

What the !!!! I ordered a tactical retreat so we are firing as we retreat so that we can make a small camp to get supplies. You said that it was a Horde, Hordes are very big, we were fighting a battle that we would eventually lose if we did'nt think of a plan, do you honestly think that I would order our men to run away, not defending themselves, and in the open?! What the heck do you take me for???!!! Also I was consulting the other Tau players if they thought it was an ok plan, I never actually saw it through, I was just waiting confirmation to see if it was ok!!! That was totally out of order!!!

The Secret of Rak'noll (A 40K RPG) @ 2010/11/30 21:15:22

Post by: Catos

I also said you had a time limit which you failed to meet, so I had no choice but to take your last post as what you would do, which never said a tactical retreat. Also, if you retreated the necrons would follow, leaving you very little time to make a camp and restock without the necrons making another attack, which they did. Eitherway you now have abandoned the Ultramarines to fight on their own. This might affect relationships with them. The squads I said you have are all the squads left on Rak'noll. I suggest asking for more help. Next time you argue with the gm and insult him there will be consequences. I am not an unreasonable gm but please stop clogging up this thread with pointless quotes, like earlier in the story. Did you really need to post asking ledabot to be your friend (sorry for getting you involved!). Anyway, all your options are exactly the same. Carry on the rpg.....

Post by: Evaelc

I must say that that is a little harsh GM ing. Well anyway. We tend to the wounded and keep on the run making sure any necrons don't cut us down. Meanwhile have people in the devilfish trying to contact other Tau. This is what i propose to do. What do other tau guys who AREN"T slaughtered by necrons as they make a "tactical retreat" think? HMMMMMM...

Post by: Ledabot

Well. I feel slightly less than I did earlier. Life goes on but shizno, we are so going to have to find a way for my suit to work.

Well I have never known a bunch of fws and suits, maybe 10 units to win vs an entire bunch of necrons coming out of the ground...

I call in reinforcement from the Fre'ma chase (read fluff on page 2) because of the situation with resources and the critical situation which we are in. They will have a high percentage of suits/tanks and a low percentage of fws and nothing from other races.

I definetely agree that we need reinforcements. I'll contact my commanding ethereal and ask for reinforcements and maybe event a battery of Broadside fire for retreating cover. But i think an extraction in the form of an orca would be good.

No-one said you had a battlesuit and where did you get turrets from. However, Ill allow you this time and you can have your turrets.

All Tau: Shas'kais, Shas'Ledabot and Shas'evalec(?), you set up your defences but they are pretty rag tag and the rain turns into snow, several fire warriors catch frostbite because of this but are treated by what medics you have. The transmisions get nought but feedback and conditions are bad. You see an ominus green glow in the distance.

A: Move
B: Try for better connection
:C: (Shas'kais only) Other

Undivided: Same

Arkolis: You arrive at Rak'noll and are instantly awestruck. The planet is surrounded by chaos and ultramarines aircraft, along with an ominous green glow covering some of the planet and a moving black smudge on another part of the planet.

You have a free choice as to what to do.

Ok hows about this

Name: Romulus Greythroat

Full Name: Romulus Aredic Greythroat

Appearance: Classic Space wolf Lone wolf, covered in armour and totems af fenris sporting the emblem of the Black Wolf of winter symbolizing the cold reality of life and the brutality of death. His Frost sword never stops growling its lament of doom and his thundershield never stops crackling.

History: He has raged across the battlefields of the 41st millenium hoping for the glorious death in battle that has awaited him these long years, he avenged the former members of his thunderwolf cavalry pack along time ago and rides into battle astride his massive thunderwolf and old friend: Bloodmaw. His pack was decimated by fanatic worshipers of slaanesh when they detonated a massive explosive as his pack cut through them, only he survived and he and his cybernetically repaired friend have become almost a legend in that noone can kill them, his hands brought down a bio titan of the tyranid horde as it was approching a settlement of the imperium and then he dissapeared, the near victems of the monstrosity unable to laud their saviour, he now travels in a borrowed transporter of his Ordo Malleus allies strapped into the core of Bloodmaws robotic frame he dances a bloody crusade across the galaxy.

Personality: A true veteran of battle who can ignore the extremes of emotion and can suppress the russ gene in his blood. He has forsaken the usual spacewolf way of fighting alone and attaches himself to any squad in combat with a foe, eager to reap his blood toll. Laughs easiy and quick to joke but his mind never stops thinking.

Wargear: Frost Axe, Stormshield and his mount Bloodmaw

Name: Mukkin'About
Full Name: Brother Captain Rasmus Anastasius, of the Praetors of Orpheus' 3rd company

Appearance: An imposingly regal figure, with the demeanor of stoic calculation and exacting precision. His armour is predominantly white, with sky blue shoulder trims, backpack and gun casing. His helmet bears the distinct winged styling of an ultramarines honour guard, and the aquila on his chest is a deep and regal blue. He displays his chapter's heraldry on his left shoulder, and his personal heraldry on the right. A symbol of the praetors sunburst framed by a mechanicus gear and a wreath underlying this.

Personality: A bold and noble man. Well versed in technological lore. Loyal to his chapter, company and emperor and all those who serve him faithfully. He is calculating and precise, cautious and unwilling to risk the living relics that are every man in his command.

He was the sergeant of the tactical squad "Sword of Orpheus" as a part of Strike Force Naasirka in the Jotun Repression. It was there that his arm was severed by an eldar exarch and replaced by bionics. Following the death of the third company's esteemed captain, it fell upon Rasmus to carry on the duty. Now his company goes where it is the will of the Lord of Macragge. His deployments see that he is tasked with the retreival of important relics and techonological secrets.

Wargear: Mk8 "errant" Armour, Relic blade, Sternguard style Boltgun, bionic arm (left), digital weapons (incorporated into bionics)

however i suggest that we get to higher ground and try and get a signal. otherwise without reinforcements we are royally screwed.

Currently chaos and tau factions are full so you cant be in those. We dont have Nids,IG. we could use some more crons and maybe one more SM.

last we checked, the sm were refusing to retreat and were getting mowed by crons. Hope you bring reinforcements. Those crons don't get tired like us.

BTW, if a sm is a member of DOOMFART does that mean they are trying to get rid of the inquisition or admistium or something? That might not end too well.

not that. nobody has made a guard charactor so there army is not in the campain yet. the exception is nids,. there are nids but i think it would be a bit hard to make a charctor since the way they think is so diffrent.

I could always change. I don't think it would be too hard to play nids as you could easily be an entity like the swarmlord or old one eye
And you know, having considered some of the other character bios, mine is seemingly WAY over-written!

I may also be slightly lacking in fluff. People that know about their factions may attempt to interfear on an event based on the fluff.

I would normally go with what Ledabot is saying about the whole cave thing, except do you remember what happened when one of his space marines fell down the whole or whatever and got consumed by the darkness.
So if we do go to the cave we won't be able to go in it anyway because Catos blocked up the cave with a boulder.

Sorry guys I have been a long time but I kinda had absolutely no time at all coz my school found out how to block this site. I am accessing this through my teknikal no-wots and stuff. P.S. Dont insult me or things will go bad for you.

All Tau Players: You find a reasonably sized cave enough to fit your small band of survivors. Outside you manage to get some signal to the nearest sept world As'kroa. They agree to send reinforcements. You have a free choice as to what to do.

All Space Marine Players: Your drop pods land in the earth near where the Ultra vs. Cron fight is occouring. The space wolves land to the north of the crons, the salamanders to the east, the PofO to the south and Ultra reinforcements to the west. the crons are in the center. You have a free choice.

All Chaos: Some Ultra ships go down but they are putting up a fierce fight. Some of your ships go down to "accidental" friendly fire due to a cruiser captain with very high standards. He is swiftly taken care of. You also have a free choice.

Thingamagica: Hurry up and post or something bad will happen to some of your necrons (idiot wars episode 5 coming soon...)

Seeing as some one (evaelc) doesn't like my gming you will now always have free choices as to what to do. Anyone else clever enough to call me an SoB will have a fun time clearing up the mess created when I go into evil mode. You have your first warning.

(well that's a relief! I'm glad that your absence was explainable, and thank you for clearing it up! I was really looking forward to joining in on the roleplaying!)

Brother Captain Rasmus disembarked from his drop pod amidst the ranks of his honour guard, relaying messages to the tactical squads and the Revered Ancient Zeth who had landed in response to the summons of Lord Macragge. He was tasked with the mission of securing the planet from the xenos, so that it's mineral wealth could be harnessed for the Imperium. He knew that it would come at high cost, and he disdained the thought of losing any number of his men in battle. However he was of the Astartes and on this stage his men would bring glory to his chapter and The Emperor!

He briskly began co-ordinating his men, ordering auspex readouts of the topography for signs of the origins of the Necron threat. He was well aware of what the necrons could do if they were not stopped before fully roused from their slumber!

He ordered the the tactical squads under his command to take defensive positions with Ancient Zeth, and hold back the necron threat from the southern perimiter until the source of the Necron threat could be ascertained. Perhaps warriors of metal weren't the only secrets under the soil of this planet! He signalled the strike cruiser that should the need arise armoured support would be necessary and was to be prepped for the eventuality.

I will make sure I have a secure connection before contacting all space marine forces to get a report on thier status and so we can discuss what needs to be done in detail.

Then I will tell all Tau forces to make this a secure location and to build an HQ. The Tau ships will be happy to give us the supplies and equipment we need seeing as now I am the Shas'O.

Ledabot and Evaelc you can do what you like, but for now I advise we get a secure status (basically we need o be ready to defend our bas enad we need a secure location to run orders etc.)

he was getting signals from a tau commander plan toghether.the rest of the company droped in a few moments later.
preator the vetran terminator and lok the devestator captain met to disscus a battle plan.
they had heared there were other chapters on the planet. they could all co ordinate but the salamanders were here for a different reason, to find the next clue in finding there primarch

Apon completing this task, I will return to the new HQ.

First off i want to apoligize about all of that. I did really bad in my chem test and had nothing to do the whole day. It was innapropriate and childish. It will not happen again.

Anyway if its all good with you other tau guys...

I will rally all the able bodied warriors and organize them in to teams that shall patrol the surrounding area. special note so idiot wars episode 5 doesn't happen. I tell them to exercise extreme cautions on these patrols and stay within radio range so that the moment anything happens that is even slightly out of the ordinary they can contact us. Also on these patrols they are to survey the surrounding area so that we can find out more about our surroundings. This will help us to find defendable positions and mayube even a better place for HQ. After all of this i will personally check how long; rations, weapons, ammo and other stuff like that will last. After all of this i will return back to the Shas'O with a detailed report.

No you did'nt have to write a full report. I as Shas'O ordered all forces to give me an updated report on thier status so I can issue new orders. Also I wanted all players that were sm and Tau to give me ideas on what we should do in the BIG picture. Don't worry you don't have to like write a history report for 200 words or anything

All Tau: Your scout teams secure an area roughly three miles westward. No interesting things to report apart from a small sized but incredibly powerful energy reading.

All Marines: You secure your current area and make a heavily fortified position. However, Necron Phalanx advance in your direction, Shooting as they go, nearly three salamanders and six space wolves go down in the onslaught of gauss fire. They do however, seem to ignore the Preators of Orpheus for now. (Argos) The tome of fire locates an energy reading due east of your current location, small in size but very powerful.

Undivided your reinforcements arrived ages ago.

Arkolis you attack the Ultra fleet with all your might but they still manage to withstand your attack.

Argos and the salamanders leave the necrons and reach the energy reading. Your marines dig to fing the energy reading and find The Unbound Flame! This is a spatial flamethrower that can go in any direction for as long as it is fed power in the form of promethite crystals. The tau securing the area gaze in amazement at the new artefact.

On the contrary, this thing has more machine spirit than the sm have ever seen. And its one of their primarchs gifts, so it would be unwise to take it from them. If you do, the salamanders WILL fight for it as it is a sacred object in the salamanders history. They are your allies so be nice to them.

SM: currently powening crons while their ships in orbet are getting wasted by chaos.

Crons: shooting at SM. Will proberly get some kind of boost so they dont get elimanated from game.

Tau: hidden in a hole. that sound sad but its very close to the truth.

Chaos: not really active on serface. attempting to take out the ultrameriens orbtal force. after that, maybe they will look at the other 3 chapters up there.

Nids: not had a mention of them since we started. hopefully they will try eat something soon.

Sorry guys been gone some time cos of late work, commitments etc.

Anyway, soz to him but Catos is being a little right now as he's not posting on ANYTHING right now and that is really annoying, so yeah I vote for a new GM and yes it would be a good idea to start a new thread now, anyway I might be starting a new RPG soon about invasions and aliens, and terminator like humans, and super soldiers etc. so look out for it.

Anyway I am gonna start a new thread for Rak'noll now so just join on it pls.

I do not think that being ill makes me a little but I would like to abdicate gmming as I just dont have the time. I do have a life not commited to dakka and I think Ledabot will be a great gm. I would like to revert back to my old player character Catos. I would like it to be known that I will not be on too much so don't feel too compelled to write my part. Dont ignore me either though !
