James cloaks and keeps his gun centered on the street waiting for the spook to appear so he could have a clear shot.

I scan the area in search of the spook with my pistol at the ready.

Fly Continues to collect supplies as he looks at Macs' Stump "Mac Get over here, Strip off your should armor, we used to see wounds like these back in our factory, no big deal," he says as he walks over to Mac

"Little bits of UN all over the place now." Dab said to himself as he looked over the area and the splattered remains of the UN troopers. The UN craft were of interest to Dab, they held things like supplies, ammo, and maybe the odd trophy or two.

Dab ignored Sindri as he executed an engineer and peered into one of the crashed vehicles, a burnt UN trooper still strapped in smiled peeked from behind slits in the charred flesh of his cheek. Dab didn't pity the fool, he had decided to join the wrong side and his choice landed him in this spot, a just reward for those who didn't follow the Voice. He continued to look around for anything interesting.

Jake gives the PLEX-armored trooper a strange look. "Who are you talking to?"

Jake looked to where the heavily-armored trooper indicated; there was nobody there. "Right," Jake said, then he realized it'd just be better to keep the man sweet. "Yep, hey Dez," he waved to the empty corner, putting as much emphasis in his voice as he could to get the others to understand.

Looking around, Nero takes several steps out into the darkness to get a breath of fresh air.

OOC: To be honest I don't have much of an idea of what's even going on other than "we're in a house, our force got butt screwed and there are roving death squads after our guts".

Perhaps its due to a change in the status quo of the previous Lazarus RP that did rather well, taking something good and changing it to something that is hit or miss is not a good idea in my opinion.

Operation Anvil Night 1-

As the Spooks blink in and out towards the building, dodging the stream of fire coming from Fly, James takes careful aim at the glowing harness on the back of one of the Spooks, and fires. The mass-reactive round detonates inside of the device, wild forks of blue energy whipping wildly through the air as the Spook, mid-blink, is turned inside-out by the sudden abortion of his movement. Foley fires a slug into the leg of another Spook, sending the Conclave assassin tumbling wildly as his blinksuit malfunctions, ripping him into gory chunks that spread apart a considerable distance. However, the commotion has attracted a group of four Enforcers, who bear down upon the group. As the first Enforcer raises his massive Mauler, a hail of shots cuts him to bits as Fly pores lead into the figure, his rounds the only thing keeping him upright. Foley is caught in a hail of pellets, sawing through her leg like putty, and dropping her like a puppet without strings, red ichor pumping enthusiastically from the wound, and she desperately attempts to contain the flow. Mac emerges from the building, his stump dribbling blood down his yellow armor as he marches with purpose towards the Enforcer who downed his squadmate. Occupied with Taylor, he fails to notice the massive fist crashing down upon his masked head, the servos in the PLEX armor whining as Mac forces his skull deep within his ribcage. Jake exchanges fire with another Enforcer, suffering mild injuries to his torso before taking him down with a well placed shot to the center mass. Nero however, is taken off guard by one of the final Enforcer, who opens up the Psych's chest like a gory flower, folding him in half as he falls, gore pumping from slack lips as he hits the pavement. With vengeance in mind, James bursts the blank's kneecaps with his high-powered rifle, stalking over to the prone man as he desperately scrambles for his shotgun, crawling across the street to reach his weapon. As James raises the rifle, the Enforcer turns around from his prone position, firing two rounds point-blank into the sniper's chest, dropping him to the ground. Raising the pistol to his head, the Enforcer makes to finish the deep, but a heavy PLEX armored boot pulps his head, shattering the Enforcer's reflective faceplate with tremendous force. Gaz helps lift James to his feet, dusting him off and taking him back inside, with Mac holding Foley in a fireman's carry over his shoulder as they enter the building.


RESULTS:
Foley is critically injured, and needs immediate medical attention
James is moderately wounded
Mac's armor restricted his blood loss, and is as such, moderately wounded

I can try to talk you though the surgery on Foley but risk passing out leaving you to finish it on your own. You could operate on me now and risk losing Foley during the operation. Just cauterize the wounds so no one bleeds out. The smell of blood reeks. Why do you think I chose to be a sniper? I'm still always surrounded by it weirdly enough." He said forcing a grin.

Dab looks over the screen and sees several tabs with subjects on them, most of them are actual words or names save one. The tab is simply marked as '11', no possible logical sense is behind this number and the fact that its the only number makes it stand out. Upon reasoning that "Operation Anvil" is the name of the attack being carried out, Dab feels less inclined to look at it due to the engineer giving away the objective of the mission. Cohort and Faust are either the specific names of targets for the mission or names of operatives, Dab reasons as he decided to search into the tab labeled "11".

As he touches the pad to open the file he glances back over at the dead UN soldier in the transport, "Thank you for your help, in death you chose the better path." Dab says as he raises the tablet towards the body. The body's head rocked forward as if it was nodding, causing Dab to step back and wonder if that was just the wind or some final ligament snapping to let the head roll. Either way, Dab quickly focused back onto the tablet and begins to glance over the information inside.

OOC: I decided that the 11 tab sounded the most different so I wanted to open it first. Please tell me that it says something incredible.

After fly caturized the wounds he walked over to James. Taking a deep breath he extrcted the bullet and patched him up."Hurry, I don't want foley to die because I chose wrong."

Jake scanned the surrounding area; satisfied they were in the clear for the meantime, he headed back over to the others.
"We're good for now, but we need to move. This place is crawling with those Conclave bastards and it's only so long until more come. We need a plan of action; and I'd say getting out of this hell-hole is a good idea. We're no good dead."

Having made his report and stated his opinion, he walked over to the nearest dead Enforcer and crouched over the corpse. He slung his rifle over his back and picked up a shotgun, as many 12 Gauge shells as he could find and some nerve gas grenades.

His scavenging done, he turned back to the others.

"What's our plan of action?"

Are the terribly malformed creatures on our side, or are they some of the creatures from Lazarus?

As to the encrypted file, can an engineer look it over and decrypt it for me?

You cannot find any ranged weapons, but your search causes one of the creatures, now having killed their prey, to turn it's head around towards you. The awful thing cocks it's head, as if it can see you clearly despite your cloak, then it the rest of the gruesome pack vanish into the night with chittering cries.

the servos in macs PLEX armour come back to life whining and make arching noises and begin to retract his head out of his ribcage as a little voice is looping in his helmet * critical condition critical condition critical condition* after a few more seconds of screeching macs head is completely free of his ribcage and he slowly become conscious again.

James looks over in apathetic disbelief. "Weirder things have happened. Alright lets go meet up with the other squad."

Dab thrusts the tablet at Sindri who was still standing over the now dead UN trooper.

"Decrypt tab 11 while I aid our fellow comrade." Dab says purposefuly before double timing towards the last known location of the distress call. As Chimera comes into view a looming shadow of unimaginable form spreads across the ground. A slathering mutant with monstruous claws hovers over the mutilated corpse of yet another UN invader.

"What kind of monsters have they unleashed?" Dab says aloud as he aims his weapon towards the mutant, "They can't even handle their own creations.". Dab is wary to engage the beast up close after seeing that its claws could easily run maybe two men completely through and decides to throw a grenade in an attempt to do as much damage as possible to the creature before it can retaliate.

"Grenade going out!" Dab says loudly as he chucks the grenade towards the abomination.

the story is character driven to events which the story teller weaves into action. its acutally quite simple when you don't complain and such

The fact that 99/100 posts that are IC in this thread consist of no more than a few lines is just irritating. There's no real depth or synergy to the game at the minute. Just small and relatively coherent strips of text.

I'm only holding out hope for this roleplay because of Mordo's rep.

fine whatever....Yes the game is slow because people have gak within thier lives and have to do and i know Mordo personally and i know 75% of his time is consumed by work. the oringinal laz was those coherent strips of text combined to make a good story where you want it to be fabolus pages of paragraphs of imagery and creativity when people don't simply have the time. I know that i won't be able stain you much longer so im quiting the thread so the game can continue without anymore interruptions from myself.

OOC Dark. stop interrupting with b*tching. Everything goes alot smoother without you chiming in every couple post with a complaint. It's different from the norm. We understand that. Have your character do something then. I know what's going on because I actually pay attention to peoples post and am smart enough to follow along with what's happening. I'm confident with a bit of rereading you can understand what's going on. If you really don't like it then leave. If it starts getting better then rejoin. Right now, you are making it difficult. Last Laz was better because Mordo had alot of free time. This RP will pick up in the summer, maybe a little before that.

Your insinuation that I'm not smart enough to follow this roleplay is laughable.

But I fail to understand how complaining about the lack of plot development is at all wrong or hindering the roleplay.

Sindri begins the process of disabling fire walls and defense programs that are programed into the tablet , using a small device he begins the full decrypting process.

"When the tentacly grabbed me from the aircraft, it threw me to the ground, hurting me severely. There was no other aircraft there, and you had already gone by the time I managed to get up and see what was happening," Isay, the haunted memories flashing through my mind. "I ran into the Lazarus facility, fighting to survive, going mad! Then the Conclave found me, and I was put in for the mental rehabilitation program, to turn me into one of them. They failed to turn me, and I was scheduled for execution. Then, I don't know, but somebody stopped it from ever happening, and instead, one day I woke up, and found myself in a test lab. It turns out that I was to be a vessel for a big Necromorph, the biggest, and deadliest. Then, yesterday I think it was, I don;t know how much time has past, I woke up to find that Necromorphs had killed all the scientist, as I managed to escape from the lab, and saw one, that looks exactly the same type from the Lazarus Facility. And now of course, I find ou two again! Where's Rachel? Is she okay?"

Well I had intended for it to be a random group of Enclave, and while an all player battle would be interesting.. it just might involve 85% of everyone dying.

Besides, there aren't 6 Enclave players that are soldiers.

So, do we do an all-player event which will result in lots of deaths, or do we just ignore your last post, blood reaper?

"If this thing is on our side, then why did we not know about it?" Dab asked Chimera.

The creature was unsettling to look at and the sight of the mutilated UN trooper made him thankful that it was on their side at least. The nagging thought of it being a nonstandard and allowed was pushed aside under the rug of his loyalty to the Conclave, it wasn't his place to question, it was just his place to do.

Dab slowly backs out of the area with the creature, maintaining a visual on it the entire time and begins to return to Sindri to see his progress with the tablet.

Interlude- That Which Does Not Kill Us

Rachel slammed another clip into her assault rifle, the spent magazine once locked into her weapon clattered to the ground near a gleaming pile of hundreds of shell casings. Beta Group was pinned within one of the foundries targeted for destruction, fighting a desperate battle in maddeningly tight corridors. As with all Conclave buildings, the factory had been built with invasion in mind, with kill spot built into the walls, as well as ceiling mounted turrets that spat lead death at Rachel's squad as she tried to maneuver through the halls. Dan had taken a manstopper round from a Mauler at point-blank range as he turned a corner, blowing clean through him in a cloud of pink mist. Rachel had shoved his corpse forward, putting the Enforcer off-balance just long enough for her to splatter his brains across the ceiling with a bullet from the pistol she had held under his chin. It had quickly devolved into a mess of stabbing and up close shooting, with corpses clogging the hallways. The UN had been forced back, herded again and again into kill zones were Ghosts had burst their skulls with high-powered rounds from their armored cubbyholes built into the walls. Rachel and her squad had become separated from the rest of Group Beta, then she later separated from them when a blast door slammed shut in front of her as she attempted to follow the rest of her squad. The door had slammed shut with such force that it had severed Earl's arm at the elbow, leaving the severed member on her side as it's owner screamed behind the steel door. As she attempted to make contact with her squad, she detected a faint humming behind her. As she turned, the hidden Phantom uncloaked and moved in for the kill, his purple neural scythe glowing with malice. The attack came swiftly, too fast for Rachel to avoid fully, and the wicked blade slid through her helmet and carved a furrow through her cheek. Rachel twitched crazily as the blade's power field wreaked havoc with her nervous system, causing synapses to misfire and blood trickled from her nose. Regaining some sort of control, she rolled to the side, avoiding the killing stroke. Reaching to her belt, she grasped the hilt of her signature weapon; a power saw. Revving the whirring blade, she brought it under the Phantom's left armpit, sawing through the limb with ease, the stump spurting blood erratically as the limb hit the floor with a wet smack. "C'mon fether, I'm ready..." The Phantom said nothing in reply, swiping again with his curved sickle-blade, but the attack was sloppy, his senses dulled from blood loss. Overreaching, the neural scythe struck the wall with a dull clang, allowing Rachel to decapitate him with a well-placed swing of her roaring weapon. Fountaining gore, the corpse hit the ground with a dull thud.

"Shhhhhhh don't worry, you will make it out alive go back to sleep if you can" I say calming foley. I wipe some of her hair out of her face "James, i think Sh** just hit the fan" I say readying my jet pack. I pick up Jakes spare .12 gauge shells and ready my own shot gun and rifle" Hey, foley, Can you shoot a pistol while I fly, just to make sure we don't get shot down." I say seeing how foleys facial features stuck out."It is Ok if you can't."

BIC: mac is struggling to keep up with the group because he is still feeling very hazy from his head being rammed into his skull and he keeps throwing
up in his helmet so he lifts up the visor to take some deep breaths and to sort out his sick ness. after a few seconds his puts his visor back down and shouts "WAIT UP!"
and breaks into a jog to catch up with the group.

Operation Anvil-Night 1

As the grenade detonates inside the building, several dog-like creatures leap from the window, landing with heavy thuds in the powdered class. The unmen are horrible to look upon, their knees twisted backwards in such a way that they stalk forwards on all fours. Their lungs are set upon their backs, great swollen balloons that expand to unnatural size as the creatures suck in air. Their faces are uncomfortably human, with great fangs that burst from their man-jaws. Pale, lifeless eyes sit in their skulls, regarding you without emotion or care. When they expel the air from their lungs, it is done in great, long shrieks that threaten to deafen you. Fly drops Foley as they both scream as their skulls reverberate with the awful howling. James falls to his knees, blood poring from his ears as his eardrums explode. Mac opens fire with his pistol, melting the flesh from one of the abomination's faces, exposing the bone beneath in a shower of gore. As he looks on in horror and surprise as the creature picks itself back up and sways around in search of him, another of the things pounces on his back, driving him to his knees and attempts to remove his helmet in a flurry of biting and clawing. Gaz rushes forwards, attempting to swat the howler from his squad mate's chest, lifting and hurling it aside with a huge arm. Varz pops off a few shots with his pistol, saving Foley from disembowelment by breaking the beast's legs off at the knee. Each of Fly's limbs is held in the mouth of a howler, screaming as the creatures attempt to pull him apart in their jaws. James darts forward, desperately kicking the creatures back, firing point blank with his rifle, tearing two of them into oblivion. Opening up with his ripsaw, Gaz tears the final two creatures menacing James to gory chunks.

Foley's heartbeat began to slow down as the commotion was over, at least temporarily.
"Lordy. Thanks, Varz."

So, What kind of damage am I looking at? Broken limbs, losing limbs, scratches, or unscaved.

Am I dead? Dude, no one even rolled for anything.

James stumbles for a couple seconds trying to keep his balance as the ringing was constant in his ears. He continues to take out a cue tip to clean his ears.

mac thanks gaz for his help, he holsters his weapon but cocks his ripsaw while taking a deep breath just in case the animals came back again.

Eagle, Rose, Pacify- Night 1

As you move through the darkness, a chime sounds over your com as the flat voice of the Administrator calls out; "Foundry A-16 is under assault by nonstandard units, provide reinforcement for Foundry garrison."

James, looks really irritated but keeps walking toward the earlier objective.

"Uhhh...a little help, please?" I look around nervously at the others. If I could do so on my own two feet, I'd be hurrying off as well...

"We'll since nobody seems to care for the Tablet , I'll be leaving."
Sindri calmly begins to walk away

Operation Anvil, Eagle, Rose, Pacify- Night 1

The foundry is a massive black box, squatting in the night air, as large as an entire hab block, with great plumes of soot spewing into the air like some kind of fire-breathing monster. The night takes on an orange glow by the light of the great forges, and the sounds of machinery and cries of pain and labour echo throughout the night. As you reach the entrance, you note that the great mechanized blast doors have been breached by a wrecked UN dropship, which now smolders in the twisted wreckage of the blast doors. The sound of gunfire joins the din of industry, as well as the shrieks of things less than human.

i enter, Command are there any friendly units here?

"We should stay clear of the fight, as we do not want any casualties, it would be too damn difficult."

"aww you ruin all my fun
so we sneak around it then?"

"We have too. Squad Beta is in there and this is where we're needed. Come on, when have we ever avoided fight?" James says eager to blow some brains from their skulls. "You with me on this one Gaz? Our objective is here."

"I have an Idea" Fly blurts out "I infiltrate and drop some ' Bombs' on the conclave and shoot em"

"Well first lets enter the factory, shall we?"

"I'm with James on this one theres other squads in there that could probably use out help
and I am bored at the moment."

There are fully seventeen militia units and over forty Conclave squads fighting within the Foundry accompanied by an unknown number of nonstandard allies.

i cloak and hook up with one of the units (if any conclave player wants to join forces just include my name in your turn if you want me to hang out with ya)

"The situation is advised as heavy resistance, we should use an equal amount of force to quash the rebellion and any hopes for their leaving the Conclave." Dab said as he reloaded his weapon and looked at the discarded tablet, it was a shame that it didn't give any help and Dab hoped that tab 11 wasn't some sort of deletion application.

"Let's go." Dab said.

"I say we try and get a view of the battle and then decide a plan"

"We need somebody to get up close, and find out what defenses they have before deciding on what to do."

"Our objective is here. We all have friends and allies crucial for the battle inside. We can't just sit around and watch, we have to take action. I'm going in, the rest of you do what you need to do and decide if it is best. If we lose these men we don't have a fighting chance and the Conclave will kill us anyway. At least this way we have a chance." James takes off for the the foundry considering where he could do the most damage against the Conclave and for how long.

"Wait, James-"

I am cut off, as he runs away without a second thought.

"God," I sigh., before turning to the others, who look baffled. "Well come on then! We can't leave him on his own! And somebody follow me, we need to get behind and flacnk them!"

"flank them! brilliant idea Dez!"

Mac checks his weapon one last time cocks and it follows James with some haste to try and catch up he looks back to see everyone just staring at him so he looks straight back ahead and keeps walking to james and then he hears a few foot steps behind him so he sighs and says "well this should be interesting" with a grin on his face.

(Have you made a mistake, or is this one of your hallucinations? Oh well)

Gaz's statement suddenly makes me remember memories from my past with my brother Dez, but I push it away.

"Uh, yes, sure. Anyway, come on. But don't let them spot you until we're behind them. Then let loose."

Mac acknowledges (shas'ui T'au Kais) words and grabs some dirt from the floor and trys to hide the yellow marks and paint
on his PLEX armour and talks to James and says " so ?, how are you planning on doing this ? "

"I would saying entering the foundry is a good idea. Try to establish battle plans with the leader of the UN. Determine where our squad is most needed. Varz, you were wondering where Rachel is, here is our best bet."

Operation Anvil- Night 1

As your team makes it's way inside the Foundry, the screams of the dying collide with the staccato tattoo of the gunfire that downs them. Rogue workers fight with tools and stolen rifles, dying in droves as they attempt to win their freedom, cut down by their fellows wielding hydraulic cutters and wrenches. Great assembly lines move the chassises of walkers through the huge chamber, where workers adjust any imperfections with their tools, working on heedless of the conflict raging about them, their feet mag-locked to the floor. Several corpses lie crushed upon the machinery that they had long labored over. Enforcers armed with flamers spray huge gouts of liquid fire over the workers, setting both loyalist and traitor ablaze, several attempting to continue their work even as their fat ran like tallow and their meat roasted. Several UN soldiers hunker behind a wrecked Tarantula Troop Transport, a sniper rising slightly from the wreck to send a round through the chest of an advancing Engineer, sending him spinning into the blaze.

Would it be possible for me to throw a grenade behind the transport?

James takes a few shots and rushes for cover over tho the other UN group.

OOC: But the conclave are also headed towards the foundry, at least shroud and I are IIRC.

OOC Still UN is Anvil. You guys are eagle rose pacify or some sh*t. I don't know why he hasn't posted yours yet.

OOC: I don't know, I took this one to be for both because both sides have been alerted to fighting in the foundry. I guess we'll have to wait and see.

Alrighty, I will toss grenades at the wrecked transport acting as shelter for the UN sniper.

i cloak and i go through the must misty/gas filled/smokey part of the room to flank the sniper

I hunker down and snipe at the Conclave. Running isn't a good idea for a sniper.

That Which Does Not Kill Me Oft Maims

Gunfire chatters insanely as DAB hurls a grenade at the feet of the sniper, who's cry of surprise is drowned out by the meat-rending explosion that scatters him and his team across the Foundry. James takes aim, vengeance in his eyes as he pulls the trigger, the round clipping DAB in the head, causing his helmet to fly off, revealing the pale shaven face beneath. Falling into a heap of machinery, the soldier is knocked to the ground and stunned by the force of the shot. Gaz and Mac tear the limbs from a pair of Enforcers with the sheer power of their ripsaw weapons. Mac lifts the huge weapon, aiming at a charging Phantom, turning the blank into a churning slurry of flesh as the weapon screams it's defiance. Mac peers about, seeking a new target, seeing a flicker of movement in the rafters an instant before his dome-shaped helmet dirties itself as his brains splatter against the sides as the high-powered round bursts within his skull. The massive PLEX armored form collapses to the Foundry floor, brains and other fluids oozing from the hole in his head. Sindri jacks into the Foundry controls, swinging a massive industrial claw about to smash Taylor from his firing position, smashing the entire right side of his body, his broken form falling onto a conveyer belt, and carried off to parts unknown. Varz raises his pistol as Chimera 19 rushes around a corner, firing twice as the Phantom slashes a deep gash across his chest. Falling into a twitching heap, the triumphant blank prepares the kill-stroke, raising his neural-scythe in preparation for the decapitating arc. Before the blow can land, a hail of bullets chew through his arm, causing the Phantom to stare dumbly at the shredded chunk of meat that was once his arm before Foley sends him sprawling off a catwalk with a burst from his rifle. Hassan joins with Sindri in controlling the machinery, incinerating a group of UN soldiers with a burst from an arc-welder. Fly takes to the air, firing a burst of rounds at the pair of Engineers, riddling Hassan with bullets before being driven off by return fire from Sindri. As he jets off, an invisible force sends him slamming into a wall, destroying his jump-pack and sending him hurtling back to earth, a bone-shattering journey that breaks both of his legs. An officer of the Thought Police steps forwards, a shimmering tremor sword held in one hand, and a charge pistol held in his left. Gaz charges in, firing with his ripsaw, only to find his arms jerked upwards by the Officer's psychic will, rendering the shots worthless. The Officer charges, slicing through the PLEX armor with ease with his tremor sword, severing Gaz's left leg in a spray of arterial fluid as he puts a blaster bolt through his visor, ending the heavy assault trooper's career. Foley fires at the figure, the shots punching through his lightly armored torso, falling to the ground face-first as his life gives way.

Time for some new characters

"HQ!" I scream while the hot lead teared through me lifting me past the safe handle of the catwalk. "I'm down, requesting Specter1 to recieve all current objectives." with my last words echoeing through the mic my neck snaps as the back of my head hits the metalic flooring, ending the light within my eyes.

That Which Does Not Kill Me Oft Maims- Part 2

As Fly crawls along on shattered legs towards cover, his eyes glowing with desperation as gunfire chatters overhead, and pieces of bodies rain down upon him. Crawling behind a stack of crates, gritting his teeth through the pain as he slides himself into safety. Holding his rifle close to his chest, he scans the area, looking for an opponent. Thinking himself safe, he gives a sigh of relief, yet still keeps alert. A burbling cry draws his attention to the wall ahead of him, a grey-skinned thing is crawling down the Foundry wall, a mass of tendrils exploding from it's mouth as it leaps on top of him. As Fly's gun clatters away, he holds the creature back with his hands, keeping the tendrils at bay. Then, with awful cracking sound, the thing's head splits down the middle, forming an obscene maw from which even more tendrils lash out from. The tentacles plunge into his eyes, boring through his skull until they reach his brain, ripping the grey matter apart in a sickening frenzy. Withdrawing it's flagella, the creature let's the corpse slump to the floor, turning it's abnormal 'head' towards Foley, it's whip-feeders dripping with gore from it's kill. It stalks forwards, slowly and intently, gibbering as it approaches. James fires, the round smashing into the abomination's shoulder. The thing doesn't register the wound, continuing to come at Foley with relentless intent. James ejects the spent round from the breach of his rifle, his hands shaking uncontrollably as he does so. No, not this. The Facility was destroyed... why are they here? On the floor, Foley fired round after round into the mycomorph, which ignored each shot even as it's body was torn apart. Now little than shambling meat, the monster falls upon the screaming woman, who attempts to fight it off with the end of her rifle. The tendrils explode from the bisected skull, snaking into her sockets as she screamed. Tearing the brain apart with it's tendrils, the monster dropped the body, charging at James with it's headmaw open wide. The former blank tenses, his vision swimming as images of his squad torn to a slurry of meat and bone rise to the front of his brain, causing him to miss the kill shot as the thing rushes at him. The creature pounces atop the sniper, tendrils protruding in anticipation of the coming death. The headmaw explodes as Varz pumps rounds into the freakish atrocity, the body still twitching as he kicks it off the catwalk down into the level below. Helping the sniper to his feet, the two take cover by a maintenance shaft, avoiding the shots fired by DAB and Sindri.

Within the bowels of the Foundry, the remnants of Group Beta search for a way out. Hunted by insane horrors and trapped by blast doors, their survival is doubtful. Here you stand with your fellows, staring down a long passageway turned a bloody red by the wall-lamps. The sounds of scurrying and gibbering can be heard from behind you as the unmen close in, their intent plain for all to see. There are three corridors before you, each reaching in a separate direction, one curves to the right, one goes on forwards, and one turns left.
