Unfortunately the scale is off on the invasion police box (from memory the top of the box is at shoulder height of the Doctor). Official version is on its way at some point.

I am still disappointed with lack of rules for the other models. At Salute I was told that the starter box contained rules for all the models as a sales pitch so brought them all only to find it didn't contain rules for the majority. Then was told that digital copies of the cards would be provided online within a few weeks of release. We are now 3 months post release and no additional rules to use the models which have been available for over a year have been released.

What's that white Dalek (?) in front of Arya Stark?

Quite cool.

That one is a special weapons Dalek.

They've already been doing classic Who as a box of Tetraps has been available for some time (plus several of the Cybermen from the collectors box).

They confirmed they were on the schedule a while back so hopefully will appear before the end of the year.

Some classic Sea Devils were released last month.

Some nice looking stuff in there.

I sort of want a few Genesis Arks just to use as funky terrain details in other games... Hide them in dark corners of buildings and see if anyone notices...

Special Weapons Daleks look like they could add some much-need variety to my idea of using Daleks as Necrons.

I suppose the Finnish are in another book then? They were mentioned as coming in with the Japanese, but that blurb has no mention of them. A whole book for the Japanese would be great; as well to be honest the main rulebook is fairly barebones for all the factions (its pretty much the generic BA book with one or two extra units per faction added on).

Which models are you looking for?

Hope this answers your question. No idea when they will be released though.

Also found these on the FB Page:

Another image of another Ice Warrior in the attachment. From what I have read from the FB group, they will be a 5-man metal pack, they may have an Ice Queen (Not too sure but lets hope so!) and they will most certainty be a military faction.

From what i read these will be coming with Slitheen and The Girl Who Lived (3-Pack) in August.

Either way I'm excited to see so much being released now. The Guys who operate the FB page are wonderful and open about their releases and I can only praise them on how much flow and attention we are seeing for the game now.

Why is everything they're sculpting for the Dr Who range so skinny? Ogrons were bulky, I wish they'd sculpted them in the same way as the Judge Dredd range. These just look awful and don't really fit with anything else. Maybe that's the point, but I can't even get a 12th Doctor from Crooked Dice any more.

I'm not even sure how you could make a game out of this.

Anyone played it? How does it work?

Around the size of a Panther or so. Its not that massive; just a big brick of resin.

The Game Mechanics are very similar to Imperial Assault when it comes to combat.

I just got the starter and it is a good quality for its asking price. Minis are good. Tokens are made with good sturdy cardboard. a double sided 3X3 Mat, etc.

For now the game plays a bit like AoS Open play with no points but instead by asking how many of the cards for the models you want to play, but that have confirmed for the future that they will implement point when there are more military factions available. For now you can play Daleks, Cyberman, Zygons, Slience and Judoon as factions and they have confirmed the next 'big' factions will be Sontarans and UNIT, then after those Ice Warriors will probably come so plenty to look forward too

Also just a nudge as today is their last day for the discount code INVASIONOFBRITIAN which gives 15% off most items (does not work on 'Deals'). If you live in the US like me then it's best to order in £ and then use the code, double dip the savings while the £ is low .

Forgot who said this, but all you need to do is "swap the background with the foreground". Essentially, the game is about the warfare that happens in the Dr. Who universe, but isn't shown, or is only briefly shown, in the series.

Not everyone want so play the wars, of course. Other Dr. Who games are there, including a roleplaying game, that they may prefer.

Coming in September

Yuck, Zimmerit. I believe these come with the early and production turrets. I'll be picking up the Zug for conversions (I already have loads of resin Tiger IIs). Probably a for a Bar (super heavy howitzer), and an APC.

A campaign based on the Dalek Empire audio drama series would be pretty cool to do, especially once the Earth Alliance started creating 40k Space Marines to fight the Daleks.

My German is decades old and quite rusty but IIRC zug means train. Is that the German word for a unit/platoon of tanks?

Few Doctor Who bits -

1) They are going to start to include the rules / stat cards in the new models so that they are playable straight away which is great as so far no new cards have been released since around the end of May so have a load of models that currently can't be used. They will also provide a way for physical decks of cards for the currently released models to be purchased.

2) The Tomb of the Cyberman scenery has been authorised. Should be coming in regular and light up versions.

3) The eleventh Doctor set (Clara is an improvement over the version from the 12th set but still doesn't look like her) -

4) The first promotional model should be available free with every order of £75 or more from the official store very shortly. He is very large so should tower over all currently released models.

The 11th doctor doesn't look too bad... which makes him the best human miniature in this range by a country mile.

How on Earth did the bbc ever approve that Clara? Why would Warlord ever want to release that Clara? Such a waste of a great licence.

11 is ok. River is ok-ish.

Honestly though? I'd expect as much likeness from, I dunno, 15 mm models? Nevermind 35mm. These are horrendous for 35mm.

Its a bit difficult to quantify how much I'm wanting these and the German Medium Walker from Clockwork Goblin right now. ...Regardless of the pricing.

SS Shocktroopers, ready to be produced by Warlord. Hopefully they'll be out sooner rather than later as part of the Konflikt 47: Resurgence expansion. They look close to what I was going for with my own alternative history SS ...just with silly exoskeletons (which should be easy to scrape off like I did with the para's jetpacks).

Always with the gasmasks..

Warlord Games and Dr Who  @ 2017/09/01 08:53:02

Post by: Wyrmalla

Well its because they're the baddies of course. The Allies are bare faced...

Practically speaking I'd explain away the gas masks as being a counter measure against chemical weapons. Its perhaps not well known, but Churchill - against the views of his advisers - was an advocate for using chemical weapons. It didn't come to that, but gas was stockpiled (in not insubstantial amounts) for Operation Sealion, with proposals for dropping it on the beaches (and cities) if it came to it. In worlds where the war goes badly for whatever reason there's the potential that one side or the other takes the respective nuclear option. ...Ah, though perhaps a better term might be better in a WWII context.

Or people just really like the Gas Masked Gestapo look. ...Personally I don't model them often with my own alt-history stuff to avoid the trope too much.

They are bad, especially when you compare them to the Crooked Dice ones (RIP in Peace). But just because they've got the Dr Who licence doesn't mean they have a licence to make models based on the likeness of the actors, that can be a different thing altogether (and certainly seems to be in most of these cases)

Haha, You know it's bad when people start doubting you're even trying to get the likenesses right!

On likenesses, I wonder if there isn't a rights issue, like Pete said, it's possible to have rights to a character but not an actor. IIRC BSG had that issue with the comics.

On the SS, yeah I hadn't thought of it but the implication is the Allies use chemical weapons but the Axis do not! Maybe the Axis are just paranoid?

Hitler was dead set against the use of chemical weapons (though it wasn't universal within the Nazi high command). The Germans were aware that if they used them that the Allies, with their powerful air force, would have gone ahead and outmatched them on that front. Meanwhile in the Far East the Japanese made extensive use of them - however they expressively chose not to use it against "Westerners". Though the Allies tipped their had a bit in the use of gas, besides Churchill's fiasco (he signed off on training British suicide bombers as well...), when a US ship blew up in Australia ...online to spew tonnes of gas out of its hold.

Ah, but that's maybe a bit too serious for a game of toy soldiers (Warlord's stance seems to be a "no comment" when it comes to including chemical weapons rules in their games).

For those interested but a lot of people are asking for more cards for existing miniatures, from the FB page:

They are coming, hopefully sooner than later. I think what may have taken them so long isn't just the existing miniatures but also future releases they have to make sure and announce at the same time.

Hitler was a survivor of gas attacks during the first world war. From correspondence it seemed like some of that stemmed to not using it, or what you had said Wyrm. Maybe a little of both. Things aside, I do like them models, got the Marines and painted them p and loved them.
