Yeah we are in need of a nicki minaj hero fighting with an anaconda
I like that a lot, wonder what the Japanese on the blade means?
Also looks like she has a flamer, so all very CQB it would appear. Will complement the rest of the Pulse mechs with their longer range firepower nicely.

I refused to tell Adam, our caster, what the symbols meant, and he went home, spent over an hour researching on the internet and came in the next morning and told me (correctly), so its not fair on him if I tell other people :p
Its actually a Thermal Lance, a cutting torch, a smaller version of the one in the Commando Assault Unit.
I've really enjoyed watching this range develop and absolutely love painting the afterlife miniatures, here are a few pics of what I have managed to paint so far from the second kickstarter.
@ellyll81 - as I said on KS, loving the pink/red/bone camo on Ellenor, great mini diorama!
Commandos look badass. The White on the Unity Guard looks good, but I think having both the visor and parts of the coat in red looks odd, might look better with the visor in gloss black?
@Annie - I was looking at your female minis store the other day, great idea, and we have plenty of suitable sensible sci-fi females we will be delighted to supply you with once it all goes to retail
@Anvils Hammer, thanks for the suggestion on the visors, I was not 100% happy with the minis but could not put my finger on it, think you hit the nail on the head :-) I have re-painted the visors in Black and much happier with them now.
@Ellyll91 - Glad I could help! Look forward to updated photos.
@Carlos13th - We are working through KS pledge rewards as fast as possible, and hope to have the first figures available at retail release in a few months time.
@Dwartist - That looks fabulous! Very nice work as always, thanks for posting!
@Agnosto - The game is set after almost 200 years of a single global government, nations as we know them today have been all but eliminated, so I imagine human society and culture has become a lot more homogeneous.
It will be extremely common for characters in the fictional world to have very mixed up ethnic and cultural heritages, and for people from all different backgrounds to find themselves on any side of the conflict depending on their corporate loyalty. This also gives gamers maximum scope to create a unique faction/group of fighters.
Some new figures in resin, I have started making master copies today.
Ephraime Bolivar, the Mechanic, a mysterious and powerful figure within the CRANE corporation.
Madison Yoshida, joint leader of the Republic Shard Strike on Unity City.
The original masters for all of those were made on your new 3D printer, right? Looks like it's humming along beautifully now! Any lessons learned you can share there?
That middle model especially is fantastic, imo. My only critique is with all 3 of these together they look a little static, but of course they're in bulky exosuits and I think it'd be easy to mix up the poses using bits on the bases.
They were all made on our second 3D printer, a B9 Creator, which I am really pleased with.
The first printer still doesnt work reliably, and untill I get a chance to tinker with it, was an expensive and time consuming bad judgement call.
So the lesson - Dont back a 3D printer on KS, purchase an established one which already exists and has good reviews.
But, the important thing is that we are getting reliably excellent prints.
Regarding the static poses, I dont see the Mechanic making any fast movements, hes more of a brooding angry kind of guy.
Madison can be angled on her base bit (or anything else) to produce a range of lean angles to get more or less dynamism. She also has a separate head and another alternate head (helmted)
The Support Pulse, Yep static, very much intended, as anyone would be luging that thing on his back around and trying to fire it at moving targets!
The Support Mech also has separate head and arms which will be interchangeable with the ones from the other support Mech, so there will be some variety possible even with more than two.
The biomechanical looking dude is a cool design but he's in such a static 80s pose.. it just kills the whole model :/ The other two there look really good but the goofy rocket launcher on the guy on the right would need to be swapped out before I put him on the field
@Desubot - the Mechanic stands 35mm tall from base to top of head, Hes quite an unusual figure and probably suitable as a base for conversions in lots of games!
@RiTides - No problem. Yeah I wanted to do an unhelmeted head, but I think its important to have the Helmeted option for any heavily armoured Character, I know some people find "No helmet" an annoying look in a wargame.
@Jehan - Faction Boxes are planned for later in the year, not sure exactly what the plans are at the moment.
@Ellyll81 - A huge improvement, and really nicely executed with the white reflection marks, The one on the right looks exactly like a glass visor in the photo!
@MLaw - I guess I have to respectfully disagree on the pose - I put more effort into getting it "just right" than is obvious, and I think the pose perfectly suits the characters background.
You will be pleased to know the missiles are separate parts, and can move up and down, rotate, or be removed and replaced with entirely different weapons should you be so inclined
Last week I finally got round to order some kits from your store:
- 15 exolords
- the sniper duo
- 4 dogs
- a walker
- some accesoires (minigun, command upgrades, heads etc)
Ordered on Sunday, recieved on Thursday. Fast!
Upon opening the kits I was amazed by how good the quality is.
Crisp details, no bubbles, no mold lines, no 'bent' parts...
I think your company has a bright future ahead of it, if you keep making kits to your current high standard. (I bought alot of kits for a long time from 2 big companies in the industry. Yours beat their resin kits by far.
I saw an APC earlier in this thread. Will it be available in the store of your site?
I believe the APC will be available in the store if the Kickstarter release of it continues to go well, and Anvil feels they will be capable of maintaining the production.
@Pelikaan1 - Thank you very much! I'm glad you were pleased with the service and components, we certainly try to exceed peoples expectations and we will never lower our production standards!
The APC will certainly be available, in the future, along with other vehicles, however at this stage I cannot say how long it will be before we can make it available, sorry!
There will be an announcement both here and on our Facebook page with the release of all KS products to retail sale.
Got my stuff through the post today. Haven't had a chance to go over them with a fine tooth-comb yet, but, as far as I can tell, everything is perfectly cast.
Exactly what I've come to expect from Anvil, so cheers Joel et al.
Anvils Hammer wrote: @MLaw - I guess I have to respectfully disagree on the pose - I put more effort into getting it "just right" than is obvious, and I think the pose perfectly suits the characters background.
I have to agree. The pose looks perfect for the model. And every model doesn't have to be in a funky action pose. Some of my favourite models of all time are in static poses.
You will be pleased to know the missiles are separate parts, and can move up and down, rotate, or be removed and replaced with entirely different weapons should you be so inclined
Does the little sensor unit in between them also rotate? It bugs me that it's not pointing in the same direction as the guy's head
insaniak wrote: Does the little sensor unit in between them also rotate? It bugs me that it's not pointing in the same direction as the guy's head
That doesn't worry me. I take it that it is set to a permanent, continuous 'scan' mode so it's always moving, looking for a target, so wherever it's pointing just reflects where it currnetly is in its cycle. As there is some sort of targetting unit built in to the helmet, I would consider both pointing in the same direction to be a bit redundant.
@sockwithaticket - Thanks very much! Glad it turned up ok and met your expectations!
@insaniak - Im glad you like it!
Im afraid the Sensor Unit doesnt rotate (but it will be a different angle on the second pose).
I considered making it a separate part but its just too small, it would be so easy to lose it, and as Conrad points out - its purpose is to locate and track other targets which the pilot is not actively engaging. The pilot could lock onto a target, fire a missile and then the sensor pod on top would help to guide that one while he/she searches for the next victim.
Did that last night Noticed that the PEQ laser targetters and add-on silencers had disappeared from the webstore though, which is a pity as I was going to get some.
Currently resisting on getting any other Afterlife stuff until I have my Kickstarter order finished with.
My order arrived today- first order from Anvil!
Very speedy delivery, well packed, all parts accounted for and in one piece.
The detail is excellent! I am particularly impressed by the Regiments sniper rifles and combat shotguns, they look so much better in the flesh! Are the snipers based on the Accuracy International AS50? they look very similar.
The weapon accessories are also very detailed, you don't realise just how small this pieces are from the webstore.
Colour me impressed, I eagerly await my Afterlife package
The casts are excellent. I got 6 Crane Wardrones, and the 2 alternate poses he sculpted have the torso separate, so it can be rotated however you like. I think this is a really good idea! I only wish the first two were that way, too since then you'd have 4 leg options with inifinte torso angle possibilities (as it is, you only have 2 leg options with torso possibilities, and 2 with fixed torsos, so those would look repetitive rather quickly).
They're a little smaller than I envisioned, which I'm actually really happy about, as they are easier for me to make use of
So, my wishlist for the Crane drones:
1. Reprint the masters for the first two leg poses to have seprate torsos for the retail release (I am happy with having two of them as single piece, but at retail they should really be separate so folks can buy multiples!)
2. Make more weapon options!! You could sell these as a separate item and most folks would buy it along with the wardrones
Yes as Bull0 kindly brought to everyone's attention, we are having a SUMMER SALE - save 20% on everything until July 5th!
I like to think our kits are competitively priced anyway but with 20% off there are some incredible bargains to be had!
@Haigus -
The PEQ will return at some point, we just need to find time to make a new mould. The Silencer probably wont be back, as I felt the component is rather too fragile, we had a lot of defective sets in manufacturing.
If you wait untill you are done with your KS stuff, there will likely be a whole load more AFTERLIFE figures available! I have a lot of ideas for new stuff after the KS.
Im glad you are happy with the components you recieved - the KS stuff will be even nicer (in my opinion anyway).
The Sniper rifles are not based on any particular rifle, but I looked at a lot of different ones during the design process so its elements from lots of guns.
@RiTides - I am glad they turned up promptly - I am sorry it took several more months than I planned to complete them, but I hope you will agree the wait was worth it.
For the retail pack I havnt decided what to do yet - leave the 4 as they are, make them all one peice, or make them all with poseable torsos. Poseable Torsos are great, but they do make the mould more complex, so I will be reviewing the production quality on the B pack as the mould wears out before I make a final decision.
I would certainly like to make the retail pack with separate legs and torsos if its possible.
Alternative weapon arms are definitely coming up in the future!
A few people have said they are a little smaller than they expected. I hope no one is disappointed. Ill be making a "big" version at some point certainly, as well as smaller, human size drones.
Im hoping to have a video/photos of our "Instigator" vehicle kit tommorow!
The Republic's 'Instigator' Assault Reconnaissance Vehicle!
This is the most intricately detailed kit we have ever produced, with 27 separate components allowing lots of different configurations and optional extras!
Soon we will post a video showing all the parts and assembly options. I am really pleased with how this has come out, and cant wait to work on more vehicles in the future!
The Instigator isn't available in our store yet, but will be in the not too distant future.
Ooh more drones? Consider me sold! I just got mine in the mail the other day and I am super impressed, best casting quality I have ever gotten (only one noticeable bubble out of 19 figures and it was a spare part anyway)
For those wondering about the scale they were pretty much the perfect height for my needs, here be a scale shot...
I don't suppose I can order like 30 more of the heads though? I found a great use for the few extra ones I had. Behold, a Dreamforge drone!

I agree with Cain, the height is perfect. And I love the head bit, too, putting a few in the weapons pack might make sense

I pledged for two of them, so I'm excited.
Nice! That's going to be one hell of a kit to paint up

Paulson Games had heads like that but when I tried to find them to link for you I am unable to run them down.
Glad the PEQ will be making a return Pity about the silencer, but the reasoning for removing it is solid.
Fair enough as regards design inspiration for the sniper rifles, although they really do look like AS50's. Certainly not a criticism IMO!
I have actually got some Afterlife components to compare with, having also ordered the Commando Shield set, and yes, they are of the highest quality, with probably the Regiments pieces being close. All excellent stuff though.
Can't wait for the Instigator, so glad I pledged for that!
As a longtime observer / future customer I just wanted to say that I think these latest models are some of your best yet. The surgical team and Malik in particular are fantastic.
It is all looking good I am pretty sure I have got the surgical team and the Instigator in my pledge, so looking forward to their arrival!
With the Commando snipers- is the attachment between the large scope and the gun itself some kind of tactical light, or smaller, lower powered scope? Looks good eitherway
I missed the sale like a dumb arse but, Anvil is priced so well I may just go in on some more plumes, medieval running legs, and 10 vanguard torsos.
Edit: Does anyone have pictures/measurements of the small roman crest on a miniature? I want to see how far it goes back behind, as my sergeant has a very small space between his pack and helmet atm. If so, could you PM me?
Here are the photos of our latest KS miniatures to go into production.
We are actually nearing the end of the KS (finally!), so starting fairly soon, the KS miniatures will start to appear in the store!
Spoiler:
New Commando Snipers -
Support Pulse Mech with Auto-Howitzers -
Aleksander Malik 'The Technician' and his monsterous bodyguard 'Preacher'
Malik's surgical team, and a recent "patient".
The Instigator ARV - Our most detailed kit so far, 27 components!
Cheers,
Joel
Wow, you were really fast on these latest sculpts, and they look quite good!
I apologize if you already gave a timeline, but do you have any thought / idea on when you might offer a weapons pack for the Crane Wardrones? I might pick up a few more along with the weapons at that time, so just trying to gauge when that could be (as in, later this year?). Cheers
Ill be publishing more stuff on him at some point, he is quite an important character in the story.
@haigus - regarding the smaller scope under the larger one, I would imagine its some kind of high powered range finder, but really It was just a "this looks cool I'll do it like this" design element.
@Dwartist - thanks, once again, for taking my sculpts to the next level with your paint job, and its not even finished yet!
@Stormwall - Its about 6.5mm from front to back, and sticks out at the back about 2mm, which is about 1/12 of an inch.
AFTERLIFE miniatures are around 30.5mm tall to the top of head, they scale very nicely next to Forgeworld IG miniatures and similar from other manufactureres.
The Instigator is around 30mm tall as well, excluding the gun, its crew are the same scale as 40K guard, just a little less bulky/more realistically scaled.
The Snipers all have camo cloaks rolled up, so I wanted to do one with it unrolled and draped, glad you like it.
Hope that helps!
@RiTides - Im afraid I have no idea when an alternate weapons pack for the Wardrones will appear. At this stage im not willing to commit to anything beyond the end of the current KS, as having spent a year on this stuff, when its finally finished I will be working on whatever appeals to me on a given day/week!
Apologies if this is here but I missed it.. This is exactly what I was looking for during the KS :/
It not being there ended up being the whole reason I backed Titan-Forge..which led to me doing some neat concept work, so I guess it worked out.. but man, I really like this.
@RiTides - I certainly plan to release alternative weapon options/arms at some point, any suggestions?
@Dwartist - looking amazing! Cant wait to see the crew/weapon!
@MLaw - No id not posted that here yet.
I did put up a preview of the Tracers (the older first version) during the campaign but didnt make a huge deal of them. Im glad you like the new design!

Hopefully should have both complete units in resin by the end of this week!

You hit on it right there - that underslung support weapon shown above looks absolutely perfect! I'd think a Crane drone could hold it under one arm without needing to support it with the other perhaps, but that's as simple as cutting off the extra part of the handle in the model.
My thought was for you to use your existing designs for support weapons for the Crane drones, and this picture here is the best fit yet
Personally, I'd love another underslung support weapon (perhaps a laser or missile weapon) and a "riot gear" setup with a shield (and maybe some sort of close-up weapon to go with it in the other arm, either a shotgun type or even a close combat weapon). Again, thinking for you to use existing designs for all of these . The above is a perfect fit!!

Actually even simpler... the tracer torso, arms and hands/gun mount is one component. The grenade Launcher is a separate part with attachment lugs which slot into points under the forearm. The Missile is similarly separate.
Ill look at mould the Tracer support weapons separately actually, that way we can make them available by themselves straight away.
That would be fantastic! In that case, the weapon would just be sold by itself with the intention that people could mount it underneath the existing Crane drone forearms, right? Love the idea!
Yep it really is stunning! I tried to paint one and... well Im not going to post photos, Ill stick to sculpting!
@Jehan and Conrad - Im pleased to say that LDD is wrong!
It was released after the KS in a small trial batch which all sold out some time ago, but we are now producing another small batch. This time there are 30 up for grabs. Its not limited edition, just produced in small batches and with very high quality standards, so when these 30 are sold, it wont be back for a little while.

Hurray! The support tracers were the only unit I pledged for (couldn't afford much at the time but I just HAD to get in on the KS) and I've been waiting for them for, like, forever!
Oh wow!
That thing is awesome. I honestly wasn't completely sold on it.. and if I had only ever seen it as a gun truck, I probably wouldn't have been. The fact that it can be a utility type vehicle though... I'm probably happier about that than makes sense. I've been wanting to do a specific thing with mecha and a big scenario/diorama.. this is one of the missing pieces
Seatbelts?! Is H&S running things on the future battlefields? I mean, if you run the possibility of being horribly maimed in combat by lasers, explosives, shrapnel, or high-calibre projectiles flying faster than the speed of sound, the last thing you want is to bump your helmeted head on the steering wheel in a low-speed impact.
Really cool vehicle, Anvil. Looking forward to seeing all the armed variants.
So, ordered a bust on Friday, turned up this morning. That's the sort of speed I've come to expect from Anvil, as is the quality.
He's a nice figure, well cast and a great design. Just the right amount of damage moulded in that he's not factory fresh, and nothing stopping you painting more in - as indeed Dwartist has done on the one shown.
Looking forward to drilling a hole in the bottom to mount him for painting, then getting him cleaned, and possibly primed tonight.
Not been this pumped over a model in ages now, maybe just what I need to get my mojo back after a Looooong dry spell.
lol, are you going to be gluing a bunch of kitchen skewers to a few of these? You could get that truck with trailer that Puppetswar has and make it a thing
Funny you should mention that; I've just been assembling my kickstarter mini's, and I used the mohawked head from one of the other kickstarter kits (pulse mechs?) for my ATV driver, and swapped the tyres for chunkier Zinge ones, just so it seemed a bit more... shiny and chrome!
That is so cool the open top with mohawk driver, large Zinge tyres, and the dog at the back but shouldn't that be a boy and his dog I was considering a wheel change now I will for sure.
OK, so I ordered a bust last Friday, it arrived Tuesday.
And today I got the paypal receipt for it!
(Good job too, I'd hate for Joel to have sent it out and not got any money for it, and I've started painting it already, so he can't have it back! )
Just throw a rollbar on that thing and it's ready to go. Anyone wanting to do that, you can take a wire coat hanger and bolt cutters to make cheap roll bars or.. less dangerous but softer, you can use soldering wire that's really thick for the same effect.
Now I'm waiting to see all the conversions The only thing with the zinge kits is getting a little suspension to raise it up a little.
Funny, it's not up to the usual standard to me. OK, I wasn't able to get in on the Afterlife campaign, so I have obviously missed the background on these, but just looking at them as a couple of models without any knowledge of that, here are my thoughts. (And from Haighus' post, I am given to understand that these are some sort of assassination team.)
Whereas normally all the stuff from Anvil is well thought out, I just don't get that set.
The arms and some of the other joints look weak and spindly - I can imagine it would be easier to damage those arms and thereby render the cyborg much less effective than it would be to completely destroy it - and I don't get the reason for putting boobs on it.
(But that's probably just me.)
And I get the impression that the woman is wearing a full-body catsuit and a slinky dress, which I also don't understand. Dress only, fine. Catsuit only, fine. but the two together?
(OK, that's probably due to the crease below her knee, which could be in a stocking. But from that picture I see a similar thing at her elbow. Which has gotten me to seeing her in a blue catsuit with white stars on it and a red and white striped dress.)
I also don't get the concept of "Sexy woman in .... moonboots? Not what I assumed a female undercover assassin would be wearing, but the dress does not go well with the role of active assassin, possibly trying to get high up to draw a line of sight to a target. Something like that flapping in the breeze will draw all sorts of attention.
I don't think she's wearing a catsuit. Plus, combat heels are kind of dorky. I'm fine with a woman wearing sensible shoes while on the job.
I just got my Kickstarter stuff last night though. Amazing quality, as usual. I started assembling a couple Pulse suits for the hell of it, too. I noticed a little oddity when comparing some of the new Republic troops to the first Kickstarter's Republic troops. The originals seemed to nicely straddle the line between heroic scale proportions and trues scale proportions. The new guys seem to be going a bit more towards true scale (something I'm perfectly happy with). They're a little taller and their limbs aren't as chunky.
Were we supposed to get a set of rules as well? I got counters, dice, and tokens, but I don't remember getting rules.
Don't get me wong, Barzam. I'm not after combat heels either.
I just don't understand the creases under her knee and in her elbow, and the boots don't do it for me. Neither one thing nor the other. Sensible shoes, I'd be all for.
Well, Joel did mention in the facebook post about it that he'd been working on those renders for 11 hours straight and that they're still WIP. Since he does listen to fan feedback, he may consider doing changes as well.
@Conrad as Barzam says it is still in design, the arms have not been added yet, and maybe he can add some fembot guns to the droid, to make the "boobs" functional
Thanks for the feedback, its all welcome, good and bad.
Conrad -
The "Assasination Pack" isnt actually a pack of assasins, its a pack of high ranking figures from both factions, corporate leaders, councilors, senators etc.
Natalya Federici, shown here, is in civilian garb, hence she only has a pistol.
She has tights on.. doenst want to get cold legs.. who knows what future fashion will be like!
Im not totally happy with her boots either.. Ill have another look at them and try and make some improvements.
The Drone has boobs (and a stylised version of Natalyas face) because its a one off custom battle Avatar. Natalya can use a mind link implant to take control of the drone as if it were her own body, hence, I wanted it to have approximately the same proportions and figure as her.
I also thought as she is so wealthy and from high social circles, she would want an Avatar which is a sculptural work of art, rather than just a utilitarian war machine.
Its still very much WIP, though Jehan, Im afraid I wont be adding Fembot guns. feel free to convert your own though.
@Barzam - Yes, all the new figures are very slightly more toward true scale than the first figures.
The first KS figures were partly hand sculpted/assembled, whereas the current lot are all 100% digital. I decided with the newer figures to have the guns slightly smaller and the legs and arms a little less bulky, makes for more natural proportions while still fitting ok along side other figures, (in my opinion at least)
RULES - are coming! I've been 100% focused on the models so we can get all the physical rewards shipped ASAP. As soon as Im done with design, ill be 100% focused on making a kick-ass rules set, which will be released digitally.
No access to FB or twitter, so didn't get the background.
As the drone is her personal Avatar, the basic shape makes sense. Looking forware to seeing the finished work.
Natalya's boots. Would you consider changing the buckles for a zip, and then slimming down the foot area. Make them follow the shape of her feet more closely. Keep them as flats, no more heel than a man generally has if you put one in at all, but point the toes a bit. Remember, Oxfords - not Brogues!
Are there any plans, somewhere down the road, when all the KS stuff is out of the way, to turn the miniguns from the gun tractors into man-portable weapons that could be held by say, non-power armoured models?

I don't have any SM scouts to hand but given how bulky grenadiers are I would guess the scout torsos might actually be slightly on the small side. Then again I've been away from 40K for a while now so I might be mistaken.
OK, I gotta have an Instigator for my future desert table. I may get a few if the price is right. So....how much will they be retail when they're available?
@Zaph - They should work I think, though I dont have scouts to hand.
Basically the "waist" is the same size as cadian plastics, and the proportions are similarly bulky/heroic, so with scout torsos being a little smaller than marines the parts should match up ok.
@SlavetoDarkness - We are probably aiming for around £18 per kit, possibly with a combo deal for squadrons of 3, but I cant confirm anything yet, it will be available toward the end of September.
Its a bit more expensive than similarly sized vehicles due to the very large number of components!
Im glad you like the kit
Here are some more photos of new stuff I have recently completed.
The Assasination Pack, including a PROTOS drone with alternative "stowed" shoulder guns.
and two of the new CQB Goliath, showing different weapon configurations achievable with the kit.
I've got to say - Anvil have been off my Radar for some time now since I missed the first KS. The new stuff is simply amazing looking. Some seriously great stuff happening here.
Came back from a week in Dorset to my Kickstarter pack waiting for me! the stuff is awesome! Really happy. When I get chance, will start putting them together
@Ritides - Yeah they would make good Killa Kan stand ins with Orky guns strapped on!
At the moment just the two leg poses but when I get a chance Ill add a third pose.
@SlavetoDarkness - Yep, character models are generally slightly more realistically scaled (as oppose to infantry which are slightly more heroic) so would probably fit ok with the Infinity sculpting style/proportions.
@ultimentra - I'm not sure which figure you are referring too, sorry, even though I googled it! The girl with the two swords is closest? Technically she is a bodyguard, but will have her own background once I get a chance to write it up.
@ANN - Yep as Bull0 kindly pointed out, it was an Add-On, it is currently pencilled in for a retail release at the end of September.
I got the second wave of my cataclysm pledge yesterday. I am absolutely delighted with the quality. Really looking forward to getting painting. I have a spare Republic Grenadier and a spare Unity Council Marine, so I'll try to get colour scheme tests up soon.
For my Spectre Operatives, I am thinking of painting each hexagon a different colour - blue, red, green, purple and so on, then giving a black wash.
Another option would be grey with different colour washes, but I don't think I'd be able to keep the washes in place. Maybe I could do washes over metal for an oily effect like on this guy: http://www.dakkadakka.com/gallery/129948-.html?m=2
I quite like Twitchydroid's dark black colour scheme, though it would be hard to tell the factions apart, I think they would work better with bases painted grey/ other urban colour.
One thing we are testing in the studio at the moment is painting base rims in bright faction specific colours, this means you can use realistic urban camo schemes and still easily see the figure on the tabletop.
@Dwartist - finished instigator is looking stunning! very impressive work!
@Fifty - I considered painting my spectre hexagons with an iridecent look - starting with black and highlighting different areas of each hexagon with subtly different colours, but it would be a ridiculous amount of work to get it to look right!
Metallics could work, though Im trying to avoid them having seen Dwartists stuff, which uses no metallics at all.
An exciting announcement if you've not been following Facebook recently!
The first miniatures from our KS are available at retail!
So far most of the basic infantry kits are available, and some characters.
Tomorrow we are releasing all the Pulse Mech Units and the Republic Instigator, with further releases the following two Fridays!
We are staggering releases to give us a chance to make new moulds and keep good stock levels up, but everything from the KS will be available by the end of this month.
I am also hoping to have the all important RULES available before the end of the month, with a narrative mission pack to follow on.
We wanted to try something different with our studio colour scheme for the new Republic commandos, check out this time lapse video - 2.5 hours of painting compressed into less than two minutes.
Awesome news, I'll definitely be grabbing a few of these once I'm off Batman minis for a bit!
While I'm probably more in it for painting than playing, what kind of size would you be looking at for a simple starter game. Would a basic troops unit, a mech or two and a special unit like the assault team or Spectre operatives per side be decent, or would you want more (or less)?
Damn fine job Joel these are truly stunning miniatures, I could not believe how nice these turned out and full of conversion potential.
I also really loved the sprue diorama sections brilliant idea and I hope it is something you continue to do, it makes basing so much more fun and easier to detail.
I will be investing in more soon as I have the funds as these are going to be some great additions to my collection, great job all round on the KS.
@Paradigm - The game is designed to work ok at various game sizes, what you describe would be fine for a smallish normal game - in writing and testing the rules I have geared the mechanics toward battles with between 4 and 10 units a side, with 25-50 individual Figures.
I will also be releasing a "skirmish" version of the rules set where each "Unit" is a single figure rather than a group. That version will use 5-10 individual figures, and some slightly different rules.
I'm hoping to get the rules out in the next couple of weeks, so you can have a read and try out the starter mission with some existing miniatures you have.
@LDD - Thanks very much! I'm certainly pleased with the new figures and I'm glad you are also!
More new Retail releases coming up later today! Stay tuned.
Sounds like a nice size of game, and the news of a skirmish mode is exciting as well. If you can write rules like you sculpt minis, we're in for a treat!
@Joel - regarding the metallics thing - I had decided something very similar. Then I had the washed metals for spectre ops idea and ruined it...
I still can't decide for certain on paint schemes. I reckon light and dark grey with blue details and either green or yellow as a spot colour for Republic. For unity, I was thinking black with yellow details, but I am not sure I can make that work. Maybe Unity in black and Crane in yellow...
I might get in on the actual game but even if I don't, there is a lot of quality here that's useful in a lot of other applications.
Quick question, if a person is to get the pulse mechs and say..they want 2x autocannon pulse mechs.. is it possible to get the body shown on the missile launcher pulsemech for one of them? The pose for the autocannon pulse is really rigid and having two of them in that same pose would be...uh.. bad..
@Paradigm - I certainly hope so! The Rules are coming together nicely from my point of view but the test will be in the first full public release!
@Fifty - I guess just try a tester model and post them up here?
@MLaw - Do you mean Vargo Federici? He will be back soon dont worry.
The support Pulses are deliberatly in "braced for shooting" poses.. the missile launchers and Autocannons are swappable so Yes, if requested, we can supply 2x autocannons with one of each body (or vice versa) In fact Ill discuss with the others the possibility of packing them up like that.
So I went to Anvil HQ last night to playtest the rules with Joel and some other guys. We asked way too many questions, so we didn't get very far in the scenario, but I am confident Jacob and I would have trounced Joel and James. Rumours suggest Joel isn't very good at his own game anyway. :p
The rules have been streamlined since the beta version that are available online. I'm pretty sure the turns will fly by. As I believe might be the vogue these days, it is unit activation based rather than each player taking turns one at a time. It works though, so no complaints about that. There is a reaction/overwatch mechanism which requires a reaction check, so if you get shot at, you might get to act, or you might be dead beforehand. The mechanics are simple, but there is a lot of thought needed over what to target when you activate your unit. Should you shoot the unit that already fired at someone else (so can't be in overwatch) so they definitely have no chance to react and shoot back, or shoot the unactivated unit and hope you shoot before them and kill them before they shoot back and prevent them acting at all?
We also saw the really good vehicle movement rules, which I think might be the best out there. The movement from the previous turn affects movement in the next turn, which is pretty important for realism, in my mind.
The game is definitely a game, not a simulation, but it feels a lot more realistic than GW games. I enjoy GW a lot, but I am sure I'll enjoy this too.
Fifty wrote: So I went to Anvil HQ last night to playtest the rules with Joel and some other guys.
In the words of Captain E. Blackadder, lucky lucky lucky...you know the rest!
Thanks for the info and pics, I am increasingly sure Afterlife will be the next game I go all-in on once I'm done with Batman. It sounds promising rules wise, and the minis are just great!
There has been a bit of radio silence recently while we have been working on finishing up the Afterlife rules!
Last week I took a much needed break from the rules, and made up a couple of brand new "bits" products for our Exo Lords range! The first new bits in probably close to two years, exciting!
First up -
The Mechanical Arm Conversion Set - including a Power plant with 4 ball sockets, 4 mechanical limbs with a selection of tools and weaponry, and a separate Power Wrench/Axe held by a bionic hand.
Here the assembled Unit is shown mounted on a tractor Unit with some Exo-Lord Parts to complete the figure.
The arms can also be used individually, so there is a LOT of conversion potential with this kit, and a discount if you purchase 3 or more!
Next up we have Exo- Lord Jetpacks
Available as a set of Five - every Jet Pack is unique, with a variety of angles for the intakes and thrusters, so no two flying Exo-Lords need look the same!
Click the images to go to the product pages on our website, where there are more photos!
We will be shipping these new products from early next week.
I am planning to use the Jet packs to make a Black Ops Assault/Melee unit, which will be available some time next month hopefully. I am also thinking about Exo-Lords with much heavier Exo-Armour suits,
Is there anything else you would like to see added to the Exo-Lord bits range? I cant offer any guarantees but will try to work on options which are popular.
I like the mechanical arm backpack, but could you put up an image of all the tools and weaponry available for it? I'm thinking it could be a handy way to transform a mini into a mad surgeon type, but would be interested in seeing all the possibilities.
Vermonter wrote: I like the mechanical arm backpack, but could you put up an image of all the tools and weaponry available for it? I'm thinking it could be a handy way to transform a mini into a mad surgeon type, but would be interested in seeing all the possibilities.
click through to their site - there's loads more pics there, including sprue shots
Ooh I really like the mechanical harness, that will be a great conversion part! Your Exo Lords parts were already a treasure trove for Iron Hands players with the bionic pieces, this harness is the cherry on the cake!
Awesome mechanical harness - it finally got me to place an order for more Crane drones, too (although I see they are called "C-48 autonomous mechs" now!). Absolutely love the ones I got from the Kickstarter and have been meaning to flesh them out! Was trying to delay till you had more weapon options, but this tipped the scales
We needed to make a new mould for our "leather straps" product, and I decided instead it was time for a total digital resculpt to improve the quality and detail level.
At the same time, I couldn't resist making a matching set of Shoulder Pads with the same strapping!
Henshini wrote: Are the shoulder pads supposed to be pitted like that?
Everything looks stumpy because it's heroic scale. If that had a smaller head on it, it would look more like what you're expecting I think.
EDIT: I took the liberty of Photoshopping a smaller head to show what I mean. If you like the look, then look for companies with closer to truescale helmets and add them to the Anvil armor.
Yeah, it is battle damage - from the email they sent out promoting the pads:
"We've digitally re-sculpted our leather straps to create this new higher quality and more finely detailed version, also at the same time created some matching Centurion Pauldrons, with subtle battle damage."
One of the best KS experiences so far. The minis are simply GREAT! I wish that the minis of Imperial Assault, Zombicide etc. would be of that quality.
Show here are my 1st Afterlife minis, the Republic Commando Assault Specialists. I will use them as near future SWAT men.
I wholeheartedly agree with the comments on Anvil's production quality. The almost non-existent levels of mould release agent used on the models is also a great boon as I really hate cleaning resin. Not having to do that to the Shard Strike + add-ons is a massive time saver!
I like that Mechanical Arms Conversion Set. With a little alteration, it would make a fantastic set for converting a Space Marine into a Techmarine. Definitely considering a purchase or two here. Between the cloaks and Centurion Straps I want for my Honour Guard, and this set, I will probably have a big purchase coming up.
Re: the Shoulder pads - yep there is a small amount of moulded in damage/dents. I tried to keep it subtle enough that people can ignore it if they want too.
Physical paint chips like that are easy to add digitally, but a pain to create with modelling tools
@AAN - they look great! thanks for posting the photo, we look forward to seeing more
Thanks all for the positive comments about our manufacturing quality, we certainly do our best!
Thanks, more Afterlife is definately on the queue, right now I have to paint more SW (with Anvil heads and parts)...
My take on the elite red Storm Trooper. Again a simple but IMO very effective head swap.
The heads are from Anvil Industries Black Ops Exo Lords Helmets/Heads Set. After that a darker grey paint.
Beneath the suit they are all blue Chiss!
@ Mr Anvil: will you be doing 32mm round bases (specifically 'Forge Ruins') in the future? I bought a whole bunch of 25mm ones before someone decided that they were too small & upped the size.
Cheers!
Launching this Friday! Brand new Black Ops Strike Team. plus all the separate bits components.
@Bubber - No I'm afraid we've got no plans to release 32mm bases at the moment. We will be selling 30mm black plastic bases (close enough, for some people) and our 30mm Hyper-City base toppers which also work ok on 32mm.
I'm afraid our current base range is a huge headache to manufacture and keep in stock, and for the price people are willing to pay for bases, its just not worth our time, when we could be developing awesome new miniatures instead.
Very cool. I see you've redesigned the Black-Ops arms a bit. I don't recall them having the undersuit visible like that. I think I actually like it more than the usual visible cables.
Any new Afterlife figures or bits on the horizon? We never di get torsos or arms to go with the heads, legs, and shoulder armor.

MLaw wrote: Anvil is that a new torso with pouches and stuff like we were discussing in PM a while back? If so, I am piqued in the area of interest.
Yep it is! Sorry it took so long, you were not the only one to ask for them!
Digitally designed, so higher quality than the existing minis, but will still match the older figures.
A set of 6 torsos with assorted pouches moulded in, plus extra pouches, will be available to purchase on Friday along with the other new parts.
I've also done a set of 6 new black ops heads to match.
@Barzam - Yeah a slight redesign - the armour is almost identical, on the old parts the gaps underneath are just smooth surfaces - not very realistic, It made sense to me that they would have a flexible undersuit of some kind.
Automatically Appended Next Post: Have the discounts been just taken off the prices or does it happen at checkout? I can't tell, prices don't look any different.
Automatically Appended Next Post: Soooo its 4am UK time and the prices aren't any different? Are they supposed to discount at checkout or what? I have to work all day tomorrow so sorry if I am being kind of pushy, I just want to get my stuff.
I'm sorry - about half the prices changed at midnight, but some didn't change till 5.30am due to a human error, specifically, I forgot to change some. Oops.
The good news is that ALL discounts are now live, and also,
@Ultimentra : The sale doesn't end until midnight on Sunday UK time, so there is no huge rush to make purchases today, you'll get your stuff no problem

:( Placed my order shortly after midnight...only the normal prices were up and I thought I would get the Black Friday sales reduction at the end of the process...nope got none.
Now I know why. T'was late in the UK too.
The new models and accessories look awesome. You force me to order more in the future! And hope for more of these too... maybe some Black Ops riot shields...

Don't worry, we will refund the discount ammount you should have got next week when we get back to the office, no one will lose out because of my error.
if you want to add or amend anything, send us an email over the weekend
Thanks indeed for your kind offer Joel, but everything is fine , otherwise I wouldn't have made the joke! I wouldn't have wanted to miss out on the new Black Ops, no matter what!
And I wouldn't have written that I'm going to buy more, which I will do today. Still debating with my crying wallet.
Kira was a bodyguard miniature released as a stretch goal during the original KScampaign, and LOTS of people requested a twin miniature in a different pose, so finally available for retail release -
Kira and Dakota, lethal warriors with four swords and two shotguns between them!
These two are very colourful characters in Afterlife, but are also ideal as unique looking character figures in a range of other games.
A quick announcement for any posters from LONDON - this Saturday 5th we will be at the "Dragonmeet" game convention, in Earls Court, South London, so would be great to see you if you can make it!
Erm... is there any way to just get Dakota for those of us that already have Kira from the Kickstarter to avoid duplicates? I can see it being a pain to offer the model alone though.
Thanks in advance
Haighus wrote: Erm... is there any way to just get Dakota for those of us that already have Kira from the Kickstarter to avoid duplicates? I can see it being a pain to offer the model alone though.

Haha, I was waiting for a KS backer to ask, perfectly fair request and yes, we can sell the new pose separately for £5, but only to KS backers who received the first one.
Ta I will likely wait until I'm getting a full order of bitz to go with it though, I love the weapon attachments and will be needing a few more now BaC is a thing...
@Haigus - no problem, just email us when you are ready!
@Dwartist - thanks for posting! looking beautiful!
@Zywus - Yes I am planning to release character head packs, male and female, at some point, but its not a priority right now.
@Malika2 - I have so many ideas for terrain projects, and I would love to get to work on some of them, but sadly its unlikely I will be able to any time soon.

Anyone want some RULES? A FREE pdf of the current AFTERLIFE game rules, including almost all available units, can be downloaded here -
This is the first publically available rules set, and its complete enough for a good game, If any of you get a chance to try the game out and have some ideas/feedback, we are very open to suggestions!
Next up - Vehicle rules, and some starter missions from the Shard Initiative campaign.
The "problem" with them is that they're fairly large, and also have the belt sculpted in as part of the legs along with lots of great pouches and stuff. This rules out most GW torsos which usually have the belt as part of the torsos. For instance Cadian torsos give you a weird looking double-belt and also are a bit too small anyway.
Scion torsos look like they'd scale ok but you'd have to file off all the pouches to get them to fit which is a bit self defeating.
Has anyone used these in any conversions or do I need to wait for Anvil torsos to go with them? Are there any other third party torsos that successfully match with them?
Official torsos and arms would be nice to see eventually. For your current "problem" though, you might want to look into Mad Robot Miniatures' torso selection. Their MOLLE and Combat Vest torsos don't have sculpted on belts, so they should look okay.
Yeah, I've had to wear a belt for a shoulder harness and another for drop leg and other stuff. If you're covered in a bunch of the MOLLE platform gear you run out of room pretty fast. I've had to wear shoulder harnesses at the same time as a hydration bladder too.. I think people expect things to look a certain way but reality doesn't always happen like that.
Just a heads up, there's now Starter Sets up on the site, one for each faction. Bunch o' minis, and assorted tokens, dice, and a 'while stocks last' free fluff/art book. I haven't checked the prices, but I'm guessing there's a saving built into the sets too.

SickSix wrote: I know you guys (AI) are concentrating on your new line and all but will there ever be more support for the Exo-Lords?
There has been some new additions recently if you check the site.
Joel I was wondering if there would be any chance of adding the seated legs from the Recon jeep to the conversion section ? I know it's a long shot but I have to ask.
@RiTides - Thanks, glad you like the look of them! Yes a printed version is planned for next year, no exact timeline yet, and there will be at least one more PDF edition first (adding vehicle rules among other things).
@Plessiez - Sorry you are having trouble with the legs. We do actually have some separate torsos we can sell you, but the problem then (and the reason we don't sell them on the store) is that there are no arms which fit perfectly. I originally planned a much wider range of "bits" for making up human scale infantry, but have found the two piece design with legs, and torso/arms/gun, to be much easier to design/manufacture, and also easier for people to build the kits.
Cadian torsos may work ok if you trim the plastic belt off, otherwise other manufactures torsos may fit. They are, ultimately, offered as conversion bits rather than complete kits, so I would expect some modification to be needed, depending on the chosen top half.
@Malika2 - Thanks, they are cool, but sadly no plans to make space ships any time soon! Perhaps when a certain game is re-released Ill look at a small Space ship project, but it would be a sideline hobby project rather than any kind of extensive range.
@Paradigm - Thanks for posting the link, yes indeed there is a built in saving (around £5) on the minaitures, plus the box and all the add ons "free" so really quite a good deal.
@SickSix - There have been a few parts recently, and I will likely release a few new bits here and there next year, but I don't have any plans for major releases or new products. I only have so much time to focus on designing new stuff and the list of possible projects is endless!
@LDD - No, but we could sell you the whole "crew" sprue, email us with exactly what components you need and how many of each and we will see what we can find.
Our last release of 2015 is the return of an old favorite! We sold our Carapace Missile Launcher, one of the first products Anvil ever released, up until earlier this year when the mold wore out and I decided a digital revamp was in order.
I now present the new improved Missile Launcher, suitable for mounting on an armoured carapace/shoulders, or on a wide range of vehicles as an auxiliary launcher. Its approx. 27mm wide, 8mm high and 15mm deep.
The new version is the same basic design as the old one but with a few tweaks and of course, being digital, its a much cleaner sculpt!
I missed the newsletter about this one and it was clearly my loss. Great conversions! Pretty sure I have all the bits I need to build them as well so I may have to give it a shot.
While on the topic I would also like to point out just how cool Conversion Corner is. What a great little idea!
Do you ever plan to sell the plastic bases separately? I have been hunting for a plain base such as the ones that come with the Afterlife models for ages, especially the larger ones but aside from buying the overpriced GW ones there seems to be no one selling that exact kind for a good price.
I also can't seem to find the mold stuff that was really good for making copies of hard to find bits, has it been discontinued or is it just hiding one the site where I can't find it?
A belated Happy New Year to all our customers! We are back in the studio and after a few extremely busy days after the break, we have cleared the backlog of orders and are ready to hit the ground running in 2016!
Here is a WIP render of the Unity Council Taipan, a much larger APC designed to transport Ajax Exo-Mechs into battle.
The Taipan will have a turret with Twin Heavy Autocannons OR a missile system, and as you can see, it features full interior detailing!
As I anticipate lots of people asking - Yes, this vehicle is the perfect size to use as a replacement for That vehicle.
As in, people who don't like the Taurox, get this one instead.
The exhaust coming out of the cab is just as bizarre as the Tauroxes headers leading into the cab and out the troop area. Run a pipe down the side of the hull forward of the cab door and into the engine compartment or get rid of it completly, IMO.

He said on Facebook that he based its design on existing MRAPs, so I would guess that he got that feature from an actual one. I still need to get the other APC, but this one is pretty badass looking too.

On the MRAP the main reason is so the bottom of the vehicle can be the distinct "V" shape that make it mine resistant, mounting brackets and the exhaust pipe itself would tend to create concentration points where explosive pressure could build up and lead to "catastrophic penetration." It's not really a necessity just a way of simplifying the design from if they tried to keep it mounted underneath.
That said, on the above vehicle, running the exhaust pipe through the driver cabin is sure to make it get hot in there... so we should all pretend it has some sort of waste heat capturing system bringing it down to ambient and powering all the electronics.
aka_mythos wrote: That said, on the above vehicle, running the exhaust pipe through the driver cabin is sure to make it get hot in there... so we should all pretend it has some sort of waste heat capturing system bringing it down to ambient and powering all the electronics.
Vehicles in the future don't need an exhaust! ^_^ It is a air filtration, purification system for the people inside the vehicle. Yeah... that's what it is.

That makes just as much sense. Filter out all that radioactive fallout... you know after the "Franchise wars" of the early 2000's... only Taco Bell survived.

Right, existing MRAPs have an exhaust system that avoids the underside of the vehicle. The exhaust pipe typically runs either along a running board below the crew doors or up along the driver's support pillar and terminates on the roof complete with heat shields to protect crew members who might touch an exposed pipe. However, the pipe doesn't just sprout from the roof of the vehicle's crew compartment.
I would suggest making the cab and personal area separate pieces so it can become a multi purpose vehicle, with options like flatbed, AA, missile launcher, railgun?

Cheers for that, I've not seen that before, very interesting
@Dwartist - Those Instigators are looking fantastic, I really must paint one up!
@BrookM : Thanks for posting up the Taipan render! And thanks all for critique and discussion!
@Bubber - Most definitely resin, even if we could afford hard plastic, the detail level just isn't high enough for the kind of miniatures I like to design!
As a few of you have pointed out, the wheels are indeed the flexible airless variety, though they can be painted up as solid spoke style designs if desired.
@theArmyman and others - Points taken, I don't think its all that unrealistic to have the exhaust running through the cabin down to the engine, as it keeps more of the pipe inside the armour plating, which would want to be smooth as much as possible. It is still a WIP however, and I will likely make lots of small changes to the design.
@SlavetoDorkness - Aiming for around £25-30. For a resin kit of this size (and with as many separate components) it will be hard to price it at a point where its cheap enough for use as scenery!
RiTides wrote: Can I just say... you guys are my heroes.
Of course, as often as you wish
I have an endlessly long list of products I want to work on/release, I doubt I will ever reach the end because I dream up new stuff faster than I can complete new bits.
The big project for the next few months is lots of play testing and a digital release of the final, definitive AFTERLIFE rules.
Along side that I'm hoping to work on some new products, including the Taipan, and possibly some brand new Exo-Lord kits - the current ones are a few years old and don't match the quality of the recent Afterlife stuff!
Out of interest, which weapons would you want for the War Drones if you could have any?
Well, really just a few "heavy weapons" - I have the gun tractors and the 3 weapon options were really useful! Ideally, I'd love a gatling weapon, a flame weapon, and a heavier ordnance weapon (such as a laser or missile). I was thinking these could be pulled from your other lines if they're digitally sculpted, and just sized down to work as an underslung forearm weapon for the drones.
Depending on the size perhaps they would need support from the other hand, but that would make the parts needed more complicated, so maybe it could be avoided by just sizing them down enough.
I know the rules need to be your top priority but I think it would be a great addition! Perhaps you could make them so they could be used on many of your kits, since then it would have even broader appeal. It'd be reasonable for folks to clip off any protruding detail on the underside of a forearm to attach them. The obvious kit that comes to mind is Madison Yoshida, who already has underslung weapons!
Hers are more integrated, but for the drones and any other suits you make, they could just be bolted on and the hand could remain free, like they currently are on the C-48 models
I'll add my voice to those saying the exhaust makes no sense.
There are a number of technical reasons and safety reasons for it and the "but technology" argument fails when the exhaust pipe looks like it's from 1940.
@SlavetoDorkness - Aiming for around £25-30. For a resin kit of this size (and with as many separate components) it will be hard to price it at a point where its cheap enough for use as scenery!
How about a single cast scenery version of the vehicle, I think Antenocities were looking at double versions of their kits like this.
On the subject of wardrones, have you considered making the heads available seperately, possibly rescaled to fit on 28mm human models? I think they would work really well for Elysium or Chappe style humanoid robot infantry? Which is something that I feel fits your range really well and (please forgive me if I am wrong in this regard) seems a fairly straightforward conversion from the existing files
Chappie, Elysium, Robocop style slightly taller than an average man robot would be great. I've been playing a lot of Black Ops III and it's pretty close to the setting of the game Anvil has out (in technology).
Thanks for the suggestions, Ill consider the options, but a key factor is how wide the appeal will be, the more specific/niche a bits part is, the harder it is to justify. I agree Wardrones with a minigun would look amazing.. I think that has to go on the "definitely at some point" list!
We can look at making the "command" Wardrone head available as a separate component, I think there are two of that head in the set currently but may be wrong.
@Mlaw - you are right, It looks a bit out of place, Ill rework the vent so it makes more sense and put some actual exhausts for the engine on the side of the engine bay perhaps.
@JoeRugby- Its highly unlikely we would do a single cast, but we will look into it, I want to experiment with roto casting single piece vehicles later in the year.
@Gasmasked Mook - I am planning to release human infantry sized versions of the WarDrones, to add to the CRANE corporation faction. At which point I will make the heads available separately. You are right, its an easy CAD conversion, but printing set up, clean up, mould making etc takes a considerable amount of time more than you might imagine.
ALL -
As I've just announced on Facebook :
What NEW conversion parts/bitz would you like to see??
We've released a few new and updated Conversion components recently and they have been very well received.
So, while we continue development of the Afterlife rules, we are looking to expand and improve our Conversion Bits range.
I've got a few ideas, but this is YOUR CHANCE to suggest (in the comments below) a conversion component/set for us to produce. Additionally, if someone else has suggested something you like the sound off, you can "like" their comment, helping us see which suggestions are most popular.
Note : Please keep suggestions "generic" I.e suitable for a range of different Sci-Fi/fantasy settings. We cant and wont make anything with iconography or very obviously design elements taken from other peoples Games/Figures.
Dakkites can of course make suggestions in this thread!
Already on the list :
Bullet Casings, muzzle blasts, Grenades/charges, Wax Seals/Parchments, Large Bionic Leg Conversion kit. Heavy Ion Rifle, Double handed Melee weapons (with easy pose attached arms), Small scale rifle arms and separate torsos for our regiments range..
How about a recon/ew Wardrone with a radome on its back? Or a jump pack equipped version similar to the ones used by the Republic power armors?
I think you've pretty much already made everything I'd be interested in. I will suggest that if you do make muzzle flashes, try making them in clear resin.
I would love to see some more generic robot heads that were compatible with the Exo Lords. Heck, even if you just sold the Mech heads separately I would be happy as they fit perfectly!
Also I would buy a considerable number of muzzle flashes if you sold them, sculpting each one out of gs is becoming quite a task...
Looks like you've already got my bits suggestions recorded but yeah, robot heads and a minigun / other weapons are what I would love to see!
No rush, of course, and thanks for paying attention to the suggestions definitely prioritize things with the widest appeal! For both heads and weapons, making them usable for other kits I think would be key for that (like Commander Cain is suggesting for the robot heads, and the same for the weaponry).
GW did this with weaponry in the past - if you sell a plasma gun with a handle, any hobbyist can cut off the handle and glue it onto an existing hand!
I would love to see Large robed legs, say for terminator sized models. Regiment sized fusion and heat guns would be nice. Regiment sized beret heads with full masks.
Gothic Sci Fy heavy ray guns, both in the infantry and heavy robot styles.
For instance I have a Imperial Knight who wants a cannon thats shaped like the Ship from Captain Harlock. And Dark Lasers for my Imperial Robots and Enginseers.
Here's some things I've been hoping for from anyone.
1. Extension of existing arms doing non-generic stuff. Any of your arms.. all of them.. just anything. Most armies end up with scores of guys just holding rifles or pointing or some make shift conversion in between.
Examples:
Hands/arms with datapads.
Arms close to the body with the hand facing the body. We can make this look like adjusting straps, removing magazines, pulling a knife, holding a cigar, having a drink..
Arms extended with generic handles coming off of the hands that we can attach stuff to. This could be for toting ammo boxes, weapons, stretchers, barricade material, vehicle parts, or anything else.
Utility or tool holding arms/hands.. useful to turn regular infantry into crew or for dioramas. If the tools are done right it could even be used to represent medical equipment for medics.
Wounded arms.. I don't mean with a bandaid.. One arm is posed to reach across to cover a section of the body or for the hand to cover a wound on the other arm. The wounded arm can be posed to still be firing or just an injured arm.
Basically, I'm looking at things similar to the kits we see for military modeling dioramas.
Another thing that I don't see a lot of is bodies and arms and legs that are meant to be in the prone position. I understand completely why this is tricky from a gaming standpoint. True LOS makes that something many would avoid. I'd love to see models posed that way though and firing from supported positions as well.

I wouldn't make a recon specific wardrone, but a Radome is a cool idea, perhaps on the flying Ajax Mech variant when I get round to that!
Clear Muzzle flashes is a cool idea. The problem with clear stuff is that the resin is really nasty to work with and takes hours to cure up, Ill think about it though.
Thanks for all the suggestions everyone!
@Commander Cain - Muzzle flashes on sale later today!
We will look at making the Wardrone heads available.
@Javin - Suggestions noted - Beret/mask heads would be awesome I agree! Regiment scale Fusion/Ion is something I can look at.
Large robed legs I would only do as part of a full "Large Exo Lord" Kit. Which is a possibility but pretty low down the list.
@Desubot - Round frags will feature on the grenade sprue.
@Durandal - Ill add it to the list, If I'm making a Heavy Ion Rifle it might be reasonably easy to make a Heavy laser at the same time, with a shared power plant.
@Brook M - A small minigun is reasonably easy, probably would need to have an integrated box mag though. a belted version has to be made model specific.
@Mlaw - I like the idea of various different "doing things" arms, but its not something Id be willing to produce unfortunately, probably for the same reason its not already made by anyone else. The kind of things you mention are very specific, and it would be hard to make a "generic" set which has all the options people want and fits with different scales and styles of figure, so I just cant see sales being high enough to justify the sculpting and design time. Sorry!
Sci fi style kite/boarding sheilds would nice. I've searched around alot but have yet to find any that aren't generic sheilds or riot sheilds. My knightworld IG need something to hide behind

This is our existing Riot shield for regular human infantry -
Do you mean something like this but in a different shape? Its unlikely I would be able to justify something only slightly different but happy to consider everything!
@YouKnowslt -
Bullpub rifles arnt really an option as bits products. They are really cool, but due to the design, getting them to fit with any torso/arm combination is a total pain, making them not viable for any but the most die hard converters.
I would also be intrested in a futuristic automatic combat shotgun. Not with a drum-mag but pretty bulky and with more a slug feel it and not pump-action.
Kinda like this
The top one of these:
or the shotguns for the FW recon marines:
How about an Energy Revolver?
Perhaps you could model one as if it was being reloaded? (Like the battery (Where the 6 round chamber would be) has been discarded and a new one would soon replace it)
A gatling laser kind of weapon would be cool or some laser cannons. Maybe some halo style helmets for exo lords or regiments/afterlife? Would love to see an ODST helmet
We will be looking at making some of the Afterlife guns available separately. There is a limit to how many different guns we can feasibly produce, but some new ones are certainly in order in the coming months.
I like the "laser revolver" idea, I would probably do a mixed set, some holstered, and some with/without hand.
@Theophony - Wow that brings me way back! When I was a kid I had a Galaxy rangers annual/book my mum probably picked up at a boot sale. I loved it! Robot horses will definitely be making an appearance in Afterlife at some point.
I would second the call for ODST style helmets, though I would want ones that fit fairly standard human size minis.
I have plans for doing a headswap on my set of Mantic Enforcers when they come in. The only ODST-looking heads I can find are the ones from Pig Iron, and they don't look quite the same.
Power rapiers and a revolver plasma pistol or laser pistol would be really nice. Truthfully I've always wanted revolver shotguns though but, if you sell the former then I could do conversions.
You can never go wrong with EVA or spartan style helmets.
Maybe a wider variety of bare heads and arms which include bionics. So not fully fledged bionic arms, but human limbs and heads with bionic components, thing implants, mouth pieces, noses, eyes (even more subtle 'metal eyes' like in Dune Messiah), etc.
Then there would be small terrain pieces, be it computer consoles, wall/floor panels (or bits for them), etc.
@Theophony - Wow that brings me way back! When I was a kid I had a Galaxy rangers annual/book my mum probably picked up at a boot sale. I loved it! Robot horses will definitely be making an appearance in Afterlife at some point.
I second this robo horses I would buy Aton of them, please tell me that will happen soon pleaseeeeeee.
Maybe some kind of longer recon vehicle would be cool, more bots loads more bots
@Lockark - regiments melee weapons would be a good addition, there isn't currently anything like that in the range. It would probably be a variety pack with scaled down versions of Exo-Lord weapons, for officers and similar.
@Slayer Dragonwing - The basic problem is that I cant (and wouldn't want to) just copy the ODST design without getting in legal trouble. The pig Iron helmet is likely to be your best bet if they already do something nearly right.
@Stormwall and BrookM - Revolving Shotgun is very cool! Ill bear that in mind, though again, I cant just copy the Forgeworld picture..
@Malika2 - Partially bionic arms would be really cool. most likely to see product as part of character models. If I do any updated bionic sprues Ill try to include at least one partly bionic set.
The problem with bionic face implants is that even with very high resolution 3D design and printing, the final component is still only 3-4mm tall, so its virtually impossible to make facial bionics which are visible on the model.
No current plans for terrain components.
@SickSix - Ill add it to the possibles list, although there is the issue of the resulting product being very close to one of the Forgeworld Power Armour Marks (I suspect this it why you want it), which means I cant risk it unless I can come up with a design which is noticeably different/original.
@LDD - Robot horses are coming, but probably not for a LONG time.
@Koreg - thanks for the suggestion, but I wont be doing anything non-human, I just cant get excited about that sort of thing. Also I'm pretty sure GW already produce most of that, and if I tried, they would (quite fairly) deploy power armoured legal teams faster than I can say 'drop pod assault on East London'
oh and one more thing.. some NEW PRODUCTS!
We now have some awesome highly detailed Muzzle Flash components - A sprue of 10 different parts, available in two scales for different types of weapon!
@Theophony - Wow that brings me way back! When I was a kid I had a Galaxy rangers annual/book my mum probably picked up at a boot sale. I loved it! Robot horses will definitely be making an appearance in Afterlife at some point.

3rded. i would kill for a set of galaxy rangers style robo horses
@Lockark - regiments melee weapons would be a good addition, there isn't currently anything like that in the range. It would probably be a variety pack with scaled down versions of Exo-Lord weapons, for officers and similar.
It wasn't really what I was suggesting, and i'm confused how my two suggestions turned into scale downed exo lord cc weapons.
I sujested a new rifle type for regiments and you could expand the current range of cc weapons. I felt the exo lord cc weapons looked fine on regiment scale mini's. I don't think I would ever bother buying slightly small versions of the same cc weapons.
If you don't like the idea it's alright. But I felt I need to try and clarify what I was saying.

I never pulled the trigger on the GW steampowered knight model from way back, as close to a robotic horse as I have found that looked decent. But I could go for mounted galactic police force troops.
I had a few more thoughts. How about doing a close combat unit for Afterlife? Maybe some kind of Metal Gear-esque high tech combat cyborg decked out in tactical gear?
Partially bionic arms would be really cool. most likely to see product as part of character models. If I do any updated bionic sprues Ill try to include at least one partly bionic set.
Or maybe just arms with bionic hands, or have a bionic upper arm, etc.
The problem with bionic face implants is that even with very high resolution 3D design and printing, the final component is still only 3-4mm tall, so its virtually impossible to make facial bionics which are visible on the model.
Good point, so the bionics would have to be more prominent, kinda like what you have in 40k. That would be ok too, but then with a less crude/grimdark aesthetic, something more fitting with what you're already doing with Afterlife.
Would also like to see some cool sci fi basing kits, tools, boxes, pipe connections and fittings, ammo boxs, maybe even objective type things.
For the basing stuff, you are probably already pretty well catered for by companies like Zinge industries, I can't see it being too worth it for Anvil to join in that party too. They have some of their own bases, but they have said they want to cut the base line if possible.
Automatically Appended Next Post: More bionic variants would be awesome though.
Futuristic barbarians for use in post-apocalyptic settings...
Both the trendy bald "witness this!"-kind and heavier ones with facemasks, mohawks, etc.
Made in GW-size (i.e. with heroic heads and feet).
And with suitable weapons (wrenches, bionics, crossbows, boomerangs, etc.).
I understand where you're coming from.. and the need to continue down the more well-trodden path.. just thought it would be nice to throw it out and see if it got any traction
