I've seen a lot of project blogs on Dakka that have been a huge inspiration for me with all my armies. I've got alot of respect for the quality of hobbyist on here and look forward to getting some C&C from all of you. That said, i just got a camera and posting pics is going to be a bit of a trial and error, sorry in advance. Im mostly working on my traitor's and Chaos recently but ill probally be posting whatever im working on at the time, which may come from any number of my many WIP armies .. you know the story. So anyways im gonna jump right in it some WIP's from second platoon

and some boys from first platoon alongside a renegade psyker

Mate, that army is looking awesome. I have always been interested in the FW renegades, and I think i might have to get some! I know how hard it is to get a model looking that good that close up. Love your conversions. You seem to be a very experianced hobbyist, keep it up!

Awesome. I've always wanted a chaos renegades army, but FW has been too pricey. Great to see those kits on a proper gamers table

Thanks guys! I just finished running an escalation league at my FLGS, my personal intent was to motivate me to finish this army. Well the league went well but the army is far from finished so im cleaning up my work area and getting ready to get down to business. First thing is finishing up conversions on second platoon and the mutie rough riders. Then finishing painting on the rest of the 3,000 points worth of the worst kind of scum in the galaxy. Progress shots later today.

Hey guys, i got some WIP shots from the last few days.

Blood Pact Airborne Kill Teams (Count as Stormtroopers)

Ash Waste Riders (GorkaMorka Muties!! i love these models, they'll look alot better with paint. Ah Gorkanostalgia.)

The last squad from second platoon. These guys still need shoulder pads and hoses, maybe tonight.

C & C definitely welcomed.

Post Halloween update. I'm extremely happy to say that the build/conversion work on the infantry is almost done, just one mortar squad left to go! So, this blog will be moving more towards painting as i forge ahead. Speaking of which, I've got my grubby little hands on the Daddy of Great Unclean Ones from Forgeworld! I'm very excited about him.

painting WIP from first platoon

painting WIP on the veterans.

im still considering colors for the veterans, so if you have any ideas i'd love to hear them. thanks for checking me out

Thanks for the encouragement y'all! I've hit a minor set-back, in my excitement i forgot to clean Fat Boy before undercoating him! I know, total newb maneuver! lol So anyway, he's sitting in a tub of simple green for tonight, taking his first and only bath! I've got a 10,000 point apoc game this sunday that he needs to take part in (all 3 of my chaos armies: Traitors, Nurgle Daemons, and Death Guard vs BA and SW) so there will be work this week.

lol, Samus_aran115 was talking about the post on 11/1 and yep that is the 3rd edition codex, good catch

Thanks argoszkiewicz! I like to exaggerated the gore a bit for my nurgle daemons army, the heavy metal guys do it a little too clean for me. Still got some finishing details and wet effects to do on the big guy but he nears completion.

Gloss varnish is a good idea tortured robot, ill have to try that. I have gone back over the bloody areas with some good old chestnut ink( my favorite and I'm bummed they discontinued it, the new washes just don't do the trick) so those parts do have a darker glossy look now.

Rather than starting a new thread, I thought it would be fitting (considering my army) to commit some serious Threadomancy and resurrect my long lost Dakka Dakka WIP thread!!! Hopefully you all can keep me plodding along as i undertake the momentous task ahead. Over the course of the year I been collecting, converting and practicing the dark art to turn my existing death guard army and traitor guard into the two lesser known Nurgle aligned Chaos warbands from the Siege of Vraks: Daemon Prince Mamon's "The Tainted" and Necrosius's Apostles of Contagion. Though i still mostly use the CSM and IG codex's for pick-up games I love the fluffiness of the Servants of Decay army list. As far as this plog is concerned I'll work on taking pics of a back log of stuff and whatever im working on, so there is much more to come, all in varying stages of completion. Over the next few days I'll be uploading a bunch of stuff to the Dakka gallery and this thread. I have one request, help me finish my undertaking by leaving me C&C! This community is amazing and I highly value the opinions of the artists here. I'm going for a gritty style with an emphasis on gore for all my Nurgle armies. So, after that massive verbal evacuation on to some pics... I'll start with a few of the Infantry Officers, other psykers and some Zombies of the Servants of Decay.

Exalted Champion "Hrakinn":

Command Hq with the Hq Vox and Chaos Relic bearer:

Platoon 1 Champion:

Converted this guy awhile back before i got the FW model, while i love the FW champion i just had to make this guy an officer in army.

Rogue Psyker:

Rogue Psyker/Psyker Battle Squad Overseer:

Plague Zombies/Psyker Battle Squad:

All these guys are still very WIP as far as painting is concerned. Again any questions, comments, suggestions or whatever is more than welcome

What next? Infantry Platoons or Necrosius and the Apostles of Contagion? hmmm

Traitor's, Daemons and Renegades, Oh my! @ 2011/11/05 06:57:51

Post by: genom.cor

Tonight the Infantry Platoons... sorry about the pics, too many models to get really good shots (i figure the paintjobs dont warrant good pictures yet anyway).
This is the concept model for the army and a blurb from the book about the Apostles. As of yet this is the only model painted to Tabletop Standard

Enforcers/Commissars

love these models

Hq Squad Veterans

The Champions/Officers of 1st and 2nd Platoon

Platoon Icon Bearers

Platoon Sergeants

Platoon Special Weapons

1st Platoon Infantry

2nd Platoon Infantry

I haven't gotten around to the gun's yet and the mold lines i can see in these pics are killing me. So much more work to be done! Still to come are the Priests, Heavy Weapons, Disciples(Veterans), Squadron Ferruginous and Necrosius and his Apostles of Contagion (of course!).
Thanks for looking! May Papa Nurgle Bless You!!

Traitor's, Daemons and Renegades, Oh my! @ 2011/11/11 06:23:56

Tonight I submit Necrosius and his Apostles of Contagion. It's a little lonely here in my WIP blog but Dakka is a big place and I know blogs can be swept on to back pages pretty quickly. However all the lurkers and gallery views and votes were encouraging so im trying to stick with it. C & C would be appreciated as i continue to piece my way through the details of this force. So much more to do, ! Without further ado, the Apostles of Cantagion:

Necrosius, The self proclaimed "Hand of Nurgle", leader of the Apostles of Contagion. Responsible for the spreading of the "Zombie" virus in the Vraks System. I keep having to straighten out his force weapon, bit of a pain.

The Champion

Havoks

Plague Marines

As always, may Papa Nurgle bless you with his gifts.

Hi!
I must say this is JUST what i needed to see! Se really do keep up the good work!
Your models look really good and characterfull. Great dirty & realistic nurgle-renegade look to them.
I am working on my own vraks renegades, also with strong zombie plague theme (am only finishing up the frst 10 man squad). So yoor minis are very inspirational.
I will come back very soon when i have more time, as i have some questions to you...

The other teams are still under construction, they are the last things the army that need primer. I'm moving at a decent clip considering my work and college load and i do expect to get this entire army painted to tabletop standard by the end of the month. Pictures of the fighter squadron and tanks still to come.

Thanks Robot! Here's my recipe for the fatigues: Black undercoat, liberal vermin brown base coat, followed by a snakebite leather/vomit brown 50:50 and a wash of your favorite dark wash. Vary the wash depending on how dark you want your shadows, more sephia for lighter, add badab black for darker. Then a final light drybrush of pure vomit brown.

Ah, Sorry Killy lol! This weekend was really busy and I haven't gotten time to take good pictures however i have gotten a bunch of work done on the infantry and the vehicles, i'll post pics of the armor and the infantry that are going to hit the field at the tourney. I did snap some shots of a game I got in tonight though and the boys are feeling good. Seized the initiative, laid on a horrific first turns shooting and to make a really long story short, in turn 7 I tabled my opponent, when the Exalted Champion (counts as Col.Straken) took the head off the last Necron Lord who decided to stay down. SO Nuff talking, heres some pics!

so not really a proper update but you can see a whats going on in the big pic. As always C&C is most welcome

@Captainsolstice: Yup yup, actually the book in the back ground of a lot of the shots is my scratch built (ie. Cannon printed) Codex:Servants of Decay lol. I built this army based off of that list from Vraks 3 to be Necrosius's Apostles of Contagion, thus the fighter heavy support and the plague marines, i've still got to finish converting up the zombie horde though for Necrosius's special furious charge zombies . Im using the IG list for the upcoming tourney, which im assuming won't allow IA rules but it motivates me to get paint on both the infantry for this army and the armor for the Blood Pact. I keep trying to show and tell people that the IG codex is actually scarier but some people still wont play IA lists even in pickup games, even if i don't field the flyers, go figure. I dont mind running them counts as: IG though, i get to make up amusing chaos variations on "Col. 'Iron Codpiece' Straken" lol
@AirborneAnto: Awesome! Good to hear that the Garden of Great Grandfather grows. Ah the loving embrace of decay
@Cuddlysquig: Thanks!
@Killy: Yeah i do, not lizardmen however, Daemons and Warriors of Chaos. I havn't got many games in this new edition though, both my armies got kind of boned, I play Nurgle Daemons and Knights of Chaos with all mounted units. I need to get some foot warriors now or my knights get eaten by rat slaves and other little things that should go smush...grumble grumble.

I'm planning on getting some painting in tomorrow, so i'll update with shots of the Armor. Come to think of it, i might as well post shots of the Blood Pact too while i'm at it. Thanks for stopping by!

@killy: no, i didn't get to play more for the whole league but i know at least 1 lizardmens player. Speaking of local leagues, did you know i run the annual 40k escalation league? I'd love to have you join the next one!

Okay, this update we have something a little different. Since i had so many parts left over from the Apostles i put this Blood Pact Death Brigade together with the idea of them being an elite armor company. I'll post more shots as i finish up the Muties and armor but that will prolly have to wait until after i get the Apostles painted up for the tournament. I'll be reinforcing these guys with valkries at some point down the line as well. These guys are super WIP, i only just finished getting them put together, so there is lots of work to be done on them. Im also looking for suggestions on pain schemes, i want some of the vehicles will look old and worn while others should like they were more recently stolen. Im not set on the paint scheme for the infantry yet either, though i do want a somewhat cohesive look. Since these guys are independent operators i want to try something different than the usual red fatigues and black armor, i was thinking black or grey fatigues with weathered/bloody bone armor, since i do want them to be recognized as Blood Pact, if the grotesques and masks dont give it away. C&C is more than appreciated on these, what do you lot think?
Command Hq (the bolters with scopes count as sniper rifles)

Chaos Ogryn (ca Nork)

Dermin Snekgaur (ca Sgt.Harker)

This project is very well done and shows a great deal of thought and effort has gone into it. I really enjoy the wide variety / diversity that you have accomplished but still maintain a connective thread throughout the different characters / units to keep them cohesive.

There's a lot of inspiration for me here so I am subbed and will be back for sure. I'll be linking this thread from my Cult as well, hopefully you'll get a few more readers.

And a complete off-topic question- Do you game / hang out at Other Realms? I used to go there all the time. I was in HI until 1996 and used to game there as much as possible. Ran a Genestealer Cult and played Necromunda when I could. Played Orcs in WFB once right before I left. Talked to the guys there a few times after I left but it's been years now. Also used to go to Just For Fun a lot. Jelly's was cool for clearance stuff but I never felt like they were part of the game community, they just had gaming stuff. Same with Gecko's. There's a few other places I remember going to but can't remember the names of. Ahhh... memories.

Back on topic... absolutely amazing work. Can't express how much I am liking this, and I'm really looking forward to seeing more from you.

Geckos closed almost a decade ago. Now, its just Jellys and OR. OR is the only one that still has a gaming community. The hobby's dying out here, man.

That's really too bad. I played my first games of 40K and WFB in HI and I really enjoyed the camaraderie in that community. The whole spirit of what I had there is what made me want to find it again when I moved.

Sorry to hear things are dying off there. At least OR is still going. I left a few of my miniatures in their display case when I moved. I wonder if they still have them? Ha.

@deathshed4twen: Thanks bro! Stay up !
@stalk bloodaxe: Thanks alot man, thats some high praise. Its cool to know so many people who pass through our community. Actually there are a few stores still around and kicking but Other Realms is by far the most active. Actually the community has grown since i was a squirt in 96. And yeah which mini's would they be?
@Killy: I would kind of have to disagree about the scene dying, while there are slow days, for the most part the community is actually growing. For the past few years we have had annual 40k and fantasy leagues (i run the 40k league), annual Fantasy and 40k tournaments and OR's has a full gaming room every monday for pickup games with warmahordes/40k/Fantasy/Malifaux/FOW and all kinds of RPG's ect and they do their quarterly Games Day event. Jellys has great terrain, you just got to organize a game with someone. We dont have a huge scene, but we get good quality regulars and like bloodaxe here a lot of people passing through for awhile. You really should find time to come down Killy! Its actually pretty happening. Check out Hawaiigamers.net for more local current events.

Those aren't the actual miniatures, just examples of the ones I had in the display. I'm not looking for them back (they were my "going away" present to OR for permanent display). It would be neat to know if they were still there or not. The Ettin and Shokk Attak Gun won 1st Place Fantasy and Honorable Mention Sci-Fi at one of the OR Games Day painting contests. And I still have my award plaques to prove it.

I linked your blog from mine, I hope people check your work out, it deserves the attention.

i used" alchemy" to produce them myself. so yeah it looks weird but its Nurgle so i just roll with it, they look like shrapnel wounds. Plus the flaws get exaggerated in the pictures, IRL they are barely noticeable.

Ok i was worried about this. From what i know, the legality of it depends on your country/territory. In the USA its fine to "alchemy" something that you own for personal use. I bought the original models from forgeworld (paid out the butt for them) and do not intend to resell them. As far as im concerned i'm all good on the ethical and legal fronts. I will edit my post above so as to not let this classic debate about "alchemy" derail my WIP thread... So anyway, what you guys think about the models?

@skalk bloodaxe: your right, i need both a plague reaper and plague tower. I owe it to Nurgle.

@sluggaslugga: That would be fantastic! I've always wanted to tackle a scratch Warhound build, just dont want it to look like garbage, especially when i've seen so many awesome ones. I 'd be really interested to get my hands on the templates, prolly go for 2 at once to save time.

As I head into painting the huge backlog of stuff waiting to get painted i wont have alot of time for modeling but after all the painting im going to be itching to get some serious modeling in. A Chaos Super-Heavy Super-Build sounds like just the thing. Warhounds, Plague Reaper, Tower and a swarm of Drones. If my timing is good i'll be able to get started right around summer when ill have the free time i need. I'm going to make this the plan.

@TTG Bunker: Mahalo and yeah you should go for it! Also, your Shrine of the Aquilla is fantastic!
@Captainsolstice: Ah! yeah sorry buddy. It is pretty detailed but a bunch of it isn't going to be seen, such as the cockpit details above the pilots shoulders and his legs but hopefully this update is what you were looking for.

I wanted to get a little bit more work done on the fighters this weekend but there was too much going on. Ill post more shots of squadron when i get a bit more work done on them and i have better light for pics. Until then, here are a few shots for captsolstice , the bases for the hell blades and the objective markers i was working on this weekend. I've only got the basecoat down on the squadron and objectives and i just found out the tournament is about 2 weeks earlier than expected ... this Saturday! So im probally not going to be taking best painted or anything but at this point i'd be happy if i just got the army to tabletop level. Might not sleep Friday night... anyways... pics:

Post by: Tortured-Robot

I think its the overall effect to be honest rather than just one thing, in your painting you seem committed to making a model looks mudy/sweaty etc. I think I'm a bit over protective of the model I'm painting, by not wanting to ruin something and over do it, I end up with a model thats not quite muddy, and not quite clean. The drawing board and a test model await!

Any help would be good however!

Well last night was absolutely epic and I'm happy to say it paid off, I won best Painted! What?! Without a doubt, the encouragement from all of you here helped me stay on it. I got to sleep at about 4 am, the tournament started at 9. I had two strong wins and one brutal loss in the 2nd round to the second place winner overall. With only three rounds that put me out of the running to win but it was a lot of fun and to be honest beside 1st place I covet best painted most and it was a total surprise. As promised, i got some pics but my camera was dying so i didn't get more shots of the games.

The second games, first turn. These wolfies got schooled but this was the only game i lost.

A Great COBRA themed IG army. The pic is bad but this army has all the Cobra characters converted so awsome.

You could actually even make a Chaos Shrine... Not just make it defiled.

How fast do you actually paint your miniatures?
Infantry?
Tanks?

I usually tend to paint in 2-4 hour sittings with occasional all night marathons. Most of the time it can take a long time for a model to get completely painted, sometimes it all happens in one sitting. I usually try to paint armies in batches, first base colors. Second is to paint up to tabletop: layers, dry brushing and washes and the third detail and highlights. All three at one time on a single mini, might take 2-4 hours depending on the size or detail. the renegade psyker on page one and the GUO for example.

I use the same "mass production" tactic as you actually...
I usually paint a DKOK infantry squad in 15-25 mins depending on the small details. I use about 14 colours on them.

Go check them out, they aren't actually that bad.

Okay I'm back with a big update. Tonight I've got shots of some of Papa Ga'aps kiddies and a few of The Tainted Warband's more completed fellows. These armies will be seeing work soon so I'll post more shots of the rest as I get stuff finished for them and hit a table or two. Ideally all three Nurgle armies will finish up at around the same time for approximately 14,000 points worth of Nurgle's blessed children. I find taking pictures helps a lot with figuring out what needs to be done but i still need practice with that (its a whole other art form!). So without further gabling, here's some evil...
Papa Ga'ap and a few of the denizens of the BLighted Pit

I use the Plague Ogryns as Daemon Princes, in case anyone was wondering

Mamons' "The Tainted" warband

Imma take better pictures of Mamon when I finish him up, too much going on in the background

While Mamon is the Armies patron, Lord Bulogos (here with the LC's) is in tactical command when the warband is not led by their former lord Dyptheron, a Daemon Prince in ascendance.

Pics of Dyptheron and more from both these armies to come soon. As always C&C is most appreciated. Thanks for stopping by!

Hay Dakka Dakka folks! Okay, so, i got good news and bad news. Bad news first, i just got laid off. after two years of working, they told me litterally minutes before i clocked out (having just done a bunch of chores that they saved just for me ), they very unceremoniously told me to piss off. I guess they're broke or something, but feth, a little heads up would have been nice Bleh bassterds, oh well, the Good News, Finals are done! and (esp. now that i don't have a job) that means more HOBBY TIME! lol (though I probaly wont be buying anything for a while, I got enough stuff to finish up). So, I expect to post some updates soon... I think the Blood Pact will be up next along with finishing up Plague Marines for both the Apostles of Decay and The Tainted. But first... I NEED A BEER AND A BOWL! STAT!

Also, i just wanted to say, Thanks to all the Dakkites who regularly post up and even you lurkers for checking my plog out! You all keep me up! It may not be much, but sometimes i feel like the hobby, the girlie and the homie's is all I got. Peace to all of you, during these Holidays and stay up! Aloha mai kakou! E hauoli Makahiki ho! Well... Where to start? I wanted to post on your log as you posted on my mine but now my noble sons of the Emperor are offended that I decided to look at the loathsome corruption that is Nurgle.

That GUO is awesome and I love the totally screwed up Guardsman at his feet. It's a really nice piece (good move using some gloss varnish). Your painting style in general is very complimentary to Chaotic corruption and I love the use of Necromunda pieces! The latest demon pieces are also very cool, though I urge you to get the basing completed on those infantry

And... You use a squadron of Basilisks... A SQUADRON. Nice. Get painting, Chaos filth, you may aswell exploit being unemployed while you can!! PAINT, SCUM!

Heh heh, thanks for the comments Jihad-Ragsta.

I've gotten some work done on the Death Brigade, bases done and started painting. I also took the day to sculpt up two potential masks for the Gaur which I'd really like some opinions on. So, which one you guys like for him? I got a few mask less heads so i'll be making use of both of them but I'm kind of leaning toward the one with bigger teeth, the lighter green. What you all think?

Yup I thought so too Capt.Solstice. I think its fitting that the leader have the biggest grotesque. Here's a quick update of whats been going down the last couple nights.
This may not be the final mask, i'm actually still letting the gs dry before detailing up the sides a bit more but here's some progress shots of the sculpting i've been working on last night and today...

where the other mask went

And here's progress shots of the rest of the Death Brigade broken down by squad. The painting scheme so far is Codex Grey fatigues with Deneb Stone armor. I'll be building up the colors to a dark grey and bone with markings in blood. Im not sure about the face masks yet, thinking burnished bronze to tie it in with the rest of the army. Im not so sure about the color of the weapons yet either.. suggestions are more than welcome.
Command Hq

Sniper vets

Melta vets

Flamer vets

And the ride for the Melta Vets a converted Vendetta Gunship. Im planning on an Imperial Navy grey color scheme with yellow and black hazards. The idea here is that the ornaments are not too overt, though obviously dedicated to Khorne, at first glance it should look like it could be Imperial. These guys are elite killers, they dont care much about ornaments, only that the blood flows. As this bird sees combat I'll add battle damage and kill markings.

I'll only add damage and trophy's to commemorate truly memorable battles and kills. But yeah, I sort of like the idea of keeping track of events for the Blood Pact this way, including bloodying blades for exceptional hth kills, surviving against the odds, etc. Keeps things fresh.

I think it is great that you do that. I've converted models to show trophies from spectacularly epic battles, like for my WoC I created a BSB that has the head of a Doombull after all but tabling (had 3 character models left that I couldn't catch up with) my friend's Beastmen. I've also added Space Marine and Eldar helms to my Ork Warboss banner pole back in the day.

Loving this project, looking forward to more!

Quick pic-update today of some legionaries I bashed together last night from my csm bitzbox.

Spoiler:
I'm realizing how ADD my blog must seem at the moment with my little decent into madness with the Black Legion here but I assure you kind reader its all part of Tzeench's grand scheme. This plog is essentially an attempt at keeping track of with whats on my bench, to get feedback and to plan the Chaos army builds. Builds you may ask? Yes. By the time sixth edition and the chaos legions codex rolls around I aim to have my massive carnival of chaos completed, 15,000+ points in Chaos. I'll be updating this blog as I make headway. This is whats to come for the The Carnival of Chaos in order by the least amount of work needed until completion and points size. I realize that without pics this nightmare isn't real, i assure you, it is and there will be proof. I plan to take good pictures of the armies as i finish them. I am a patient man, and have been working for a long time on this, as of yet this plog is a smattering of what im working on but i do hobby more than I blog. so much to do, so little time... the dark gods come!
"The Apostles of Contagion": This warband uses the character "Nercrosius" and the Servants of Decay List from IA 7 Seige of Vraks: ~3,000pts
"The Tainted": Represented with Codex: Chaos Space Marines (for now) and the character "Daemon Prince Mamon" from IA 7: ~3,000pts
"Papa Ga'ap's Children of the Blighted Pit": Codex: Chaos Daemons and the "Greater Daemon Papa Ga'ap" from the recently updated IA: Apocaplypse 2nd Edition ~3,000pts
"Daemon Primarch Magnus and the Thousand Sons": Codex: Chaos Space Marines. This army is modeled and painted to represent the Thousand Sons just prior to Ahriman's betrayal and the casting of the rubric. ~3,000pts
"Traitor Guard Armor Company of Unknown Designation": Codex: Imperial Guard. These guys fill out the traitor guard armies as they go to war. ~2,000pts
"The Black Brotherhood of Dagonet": Codex:Chaos Space Marines. This army makes extensive use of daemon summoning and will allow me to work on Slanesh and Khorne champions and daemons. ~1,500 pts.
"Blood Pact Death Brigade":Codex Imperial Guard. ~1,500 pts.
The Nurgle armies are all mostly finished, the traitor armor company too. The Thousand Sons and Black Legion along with the Blood Pact is where the majority of the work still lays ahead. So, now that i have shared my madness with you to such an extent.... DO YOU HEAR THE VOICES TOOO?!?!!!!

Warning! This is a mental evacuation here! Read it only if your curious about why my projects seem so scatterbrained and what can be expected in the future for this blog.

Yes, I hear the voices too. So many projects, so paths leading to the same place- Chaos. I haven't shared my other works on Dakka yet but I have an extensive World Eaters army and a sizable "Black Crusade" force comprising of elements from many different Legions. In total I likely have over 15K worth of Chaos. But why? I do not know. I just know it needs to be done. Once I have my Death Guard "finished" I'm planning on moving back to my World Eaters and doing to them what I have done to my Death Guard, which is to change it from a Black Crusade contingent and make them a complete force to be reckoned with. The current rules have made them very specific "one trick ponies" and I am hoping 6th Ed recognizes that if ALL World Eaters were nothing more than frothing berserk bloodthirsty maniacs that charge headlong into any enemy with nothing more than chainaxes and bolt pistols the many warbands would have been stomped into little tiny bits of red armor long, long ago.

I digress. Great work you are doing here. And again... yes, I hear the voices.

Excellent brothers! I'm sure the next incarnation of our fell legions must be better than what we have now, since while they could have been worse they certainly can't streamline the codex anymore than have already... only place to go is up for the chaos cults. No update pics but Abaddon has been disassembled for the final paint work, hopefully i get a couple of hours to work on him this week, i'd really like to get him finished and a few more legionaries put together. Oh, some revamped old school terminators coming up as well as a squad of raptors. Must keep slaving ... for the dark gods!

Hello Dakka folks! I have a bit more Black Legion done last night. So, the First squad is almost finished. My first couple of gs attempts at the shoulder-pads were sort of meh.. but after a bunch more trys I got better and faster. I'll strip these guys prior to painting I'm decently pleased with them at this point, though some gs insignia are a little skewed, maybe after they dry completely i can try to break them off and adjust, might not be worth the effort though.

As always, any are appreciated! Mahalo.

Post by: genom.cor

Yeah i'm looking forward to getting to do some damage but i dont know if it'll get close enough for a heavy flamer. So far its served in two games and hasn't gotten taken out. Took an Imobilized from another Vendetta but then returned fire and killed it. The squad got out and hoofed it while it continued to explode a leman demolisher and disable the rest of the squadron closing in on the lines. Later the tech-priest got it moving again though and it even went back in to pick up the surviving members of the team. It was a pretty major armor engagement 2k of guard on guard armor. Against nids it got several MC kills and just kind of hung back unloading. To be honest if it continues to do so well I think I'll wait till 10 or more high priority kills to add another trophy though I do want to add one for the air to air kill against the Imperial Vendetta... those skum! In any case both games were wins for the Blood Pact! Nids dont like sniper rifles... or Hellhounds. Guard on Guard games are always interesting it was a big slug-fest.

Oh, i also undercoated the squad and the raptors, so more to come...

Traitor's, Daemons and Renegades, Oh my! @ 2012/01/28 04:17:37

The squad is progressing. For their gold; I do a layer of snakebite brown, then vermin, then shining gold. Im not sure about what color to highlight the black with, I kind of want to avoid the usual grey highlight, i'm thinking dark angels green actually, if anyone has any comments on this by all means chuck it at me.

Also, here is a teaser of the raptors,

That is great.

It really gets me thinking about what I'm doing w/ my modeling and other projects right now. I think I need to shift gears and work on something simply to just work on it. I'm getting a bit burnt on the Death Guard.

Traitor's, Daemons and Renegades, Oh my! @ 2012/01/31 04:22:54

Post by: genom.cor

Exactly! I don't want to settle for just tabletop for my models but taking the time to take each trooper up to high level of detail means that all my armies are in it for the long term, due to fatigue. All my table-top level stuff is simple waiting to get more work done on it, and hitting the battlefield. I know some people have a very different approach but my hobby philosophy is very long term, my orks, death guard and traitor guard have been works in progress for years and in planning for even longer. These Black Legion, while getting kicked off by a gift over Christmas has been sitting in the bits box waiting. When i get tired of Chaos i jump over the my Orks, which i actually fatigue from pretty fast. Painting 100+ of Orks is the most brutal thing...ever. But i love the hobby, i dont know what i'd do if i didn't have 8 projects on the back burners and a desk filled with paint pots! lol I also love to play the bad guys and i have a nemisis army for every "good" race. Orks (Speed Freaks and Blood Axe Air Cav.), Necrons and the Carnival of Chaos [Traitor Guard, Death Guard, Thousand Sons, Black Legion]. I should get around to taking a couple of big pics of the armies. It'll give me an idea of what i've got to finish and what its worth if i need to sell an army or two.

I do have a small army of "good", a 1750 point Steel Legion/Catachan force. If your interested, this is the the fluff behind every game i play with them: An armored infantry platoon of 1177th battalion 276th Armageddon Steel Legion were charged with defending a Deathstrike missle and an crotchety old Commissar Lord in transit to a classified launch point for a pivotal strike against the {Insert Xeno's/Traitor's} scum. A classified operation, disguised to look like the usual convoy, but just operating way way out in the DMZ. They started off with 9 Chimera, a squadrons all of Sentinels and Hellhounds and Leman Russ Battletanks, and the DSM (covered in a tarp), so much for disguise. Days crossing the {ash wastes/ jungles/ no-man's land/ hive city}, then the {Insert Xeno's/Traitor's} scum attacked, almost within striking distance to the objective. The attack was swift and brutal. The column got pinned from the flanks. Caught in a crossfire they fell back towards the DSM and attempted to consolodate. After tremendous losses at the commissars command of-course, what was left of the column fell back. Being out in the middle of now-where the option was to fall back. The {Insert Xeno's/Traitor's} scum pursued. For days they fell back, damaged vehicles were abandoned as they went, the crew hoofing it from there on. All the officers, including the fething Commissar got smoked, the only officers left were 4 Sgt., the most senior (smartest) of which was field-promoted by the others to Lt. Not a single soldier left in the platoon who isn't in their 1st tour of duty. For many this was the first time they had seen any small arms action since the hives back home. Now, finally in long-vox range of the nearest out-post (still a night away) there are less than 60 of them left. All the Chimera's, Leman's, Hound's all got feth-ed. Only one sentinel, 2 lascannons, 4 missle launchers, and 3 heavy bolter's. Good thing someone called in literally less than 30 Catachans (who showed up in their entirety with just a Stormlord (mostly filled with gear and ammo) and one Leman Russ Demolisher). Three of these guys can carry lascannons over their shoulders like it was just an awkward rukk-pack, apparently they have solo heavy weapon teams. Their iho-smoking colonel and his retinue look like they came straight out of a xeno-action film (they have, pretty much by vid-feed accounts). The Col. steps out the Stormlord, stretches, spits and grins. Then he starts barking out orders in a thick Catachan accent, where the words string together seemingly without punctuation. And whatever you do, do not act him to repeat himself by saying, "what"? A backhand slap from the colonel on Cpl.Jetken sent him and his Flak sprawling.
"I dont know whats scarier sarge, the fact that were going to get hit by the {Insert Xeno's/Traitor's} again. Who want to take our DSM and shove it up our feth-hole. Or the 20 guys command sends to help us, who seem.. As far as i can tell.. to be intent on letting the {Insert Xeno's/Traitor's} try it. Again."

Here's an update shot of another one of the legionaries. Still WIP, not done with the eyes and other details, or the base, but i wanted to be steadier with the updates.

I hope fluff posts aren't going to be a problem. It actually helps a lot with my enjoyment of the hobby and all the stories behind the armies are inspired from actual tabletop battles. I write it anyway and since it cant hurt (you guys can just opt not to read it) I'll probably be posting more. This week-end ill take the time to flick one of the other WIP armies, since I just posted their fluff, I think it's going to be the "good guys". In the actual battles they were up against the Dark Eldar. In case anyone was wondering what happened, the Dark Eldar attacked at dawn but our hero's took out Duke Sliscus and his Incubi and Warriors as well as his Ravagers getting taken out by a surprise intervention from a lone squad of 5 stormtroopers grav chuting in. I've only played the one game with them so far.

Thanks Skalk, I'm always happy to see you have stopped by! I look forward to you getting back to your stuff too.

Today i've got some shots of Legionnaire Trecius. A former Ultramarine neophyte. He along with several others in the unit were among those that defected after the massacre of the rest of their 10th co. detachment on Elnour Delta during the Gothic War (aka the 12th Black Crusade). Drackkiz and the others in the unit at that time, fought a proxy war with the Ultramarines via several lesser cults and defeated the Ultramarines by opening a warp portal and summoning a cohort of Slaaneshi daemons, Drackkiz's favored method of attack. Upon their surrender, the neophytes had to commit a further 13 atrocities before being given the honor of taking the power armor from a loyalist marine that they killed. It is unknown when he and his fellow surviving neophytes succeeded in joining Drackkiz., however, it is known that at least 25 neophytes went missing that day. Since then, he and the 2 others of his cohort strive to prove themselves to their ancient and terrible brothers by any means necessary.

I'm pretty happy with the lighting around the eyes, i didn't want to do too much but now that i look at it i think ill hit it with a finial hint of red. I'm hoping the rest of the model pop's when contrasted with a light base. Thanks for the look

Thanks Skalk. One of the chains is going to be attached to the other side of the shoulder pad so it will look more like a trophy chain and less like 2 chains hanging side by side. I've gotten more work done on the Raptors, ill post pics when i get the chance.

Hi DakkaDakka! More Black Legion... Raptors!

I anticipate these guys falling over alot, so its a good thing they are metal. Every bit is going to have to be pinned for sure. I've weighted the bases with nickels and carefully positioned them to balance. I think they look good enough to be worth the constant falling.

And here's some progress shots of the squad.

At this point everyone has had the gold treatment. Still got weapons, clean-up, highlighting and damage to do on most of them. Also got to finish the faces. There are a bunch of old metal terminators I plan to re-new and a Slaneesh sorcerer/lord and a Daemon Prince waiting in the wings too. So, you know... more to come.

Or the many many scratch builds you have? ... Or the new stuff you've no doubt been working on? lol I look forward to whatever it is you post! Knowing that I got you around is going to motivate me to stay consistent with the updates and start posting my non-chaos stuff too. So stoked to see you on here and totally looking forward to the coming madness!

Hey Dakka Folks. I thought that i'd post something a bit different tonight. I happened to have the Raptors at the various stages of my gold recipe at the time so I took pictures.
I start with bubonic brown, then sunburst yellow, then dwarf bronze, I follow this up with a 50/50 dawrf bronze/shining gold. I think one of the harder aspects of painting is coming to grips with the fact that almost every color needs to be brought out through layers. These shots are a bit washed out, but in real light, I think it makes for an eye catching gold.

Im not convinced that they will fall over any less as finecast, i can guarantee that they will not survive all the falling if they are resin though. As metal, they may fall, but its not an issue. At least that was logic behind the scenic raptor bases. In either case there is a boatload of pinning to be done though. lol

My dark and twisted brothers of Dakka... during the lack of posting, I tell you the madness has truly begun. I got a great deal in a trade and over the last week i've been disassembling and planning the Black Legion army further, much much further. The modelling concept for the army is to combine the huge array of old and new chaos bits (i've accumulated through this trade, several chaos army builds and a collection that goes back to 2nd ed) to build the army of Ygethmor, Sorceror Lord of the Black Legion, circa the 13th Black Crusade(m41.8-9 era).

This army will include Ygethmor the Deciever and his personal bodyguard (30 terminators), Warmaster Abaddon himself, and several attendant Black Legion lieutenants and their retinues or warbands. I'm pretty happy with the test models (the legionaries done so far) and i'm fairly sure I got the paint scheme down to the point where I could finish this army in its entirety within 6 month (we'll see if i can stick to the schedule). I'm about to head full swing into the modelling phase for the over 6,000 pt army now. Its more like 3 armies since the Slaanesh and Khorne cohorts top 2k. I plan to build the cohorts and retinues together to help maintain coherency in the themes. I plan to include any new releases that tickle me when they come out but ideally this army will be well on the way to finished by then. I'm really excited about this army because the Slaaneshi and Khorneate theme combined with my existing Death Guard and Thousand Sons will round out the Carnival of Chaos nicely.

So, for this project update I thought I would post the full army build list, including character names and wargear as well as some shots of the bits box for this project for fun and a few shots of some recent noise marines. Again, this is not a wish-list, this is the master build list. I do have all of this...this madness... I will post updates of wip's as usual but without much in the way of commentary, I must toil.. for the Dark Gods...

Hey all, im back to work again. Pulled out the Apostles of Contagion and looking to finish up a squad of 10, a Champion and Necrosius. So, here's the first almost finished plague marine. More shots in the gallery, i realized there was no reason to let this thread die (that and I lost some of the pictures that are in here) but i will also have seperate threads for the armies. Okay, this multiple plog thing is not going to work. I've got a bunch of different projects barreling down so i'm just going to revive this trusty old plog, post the recent stuff i've been working on and try to do as much picture taking as possible on whatever I'm working on from here on out. For now finishing the work to bring the Apostles of Contagion into C:CSM 6th really has my attention.

Heres the 2k list along with the most recent wip pics:
Necrosius, the Hand of Nurgle
Counts as Typhus when not using his actual rules.

Champion of the Apostles
Sorcerer:Mark of Nurgle, +1 Level, Plasma Pistol, Lightning Claw, Sigil of Corruption

The Apostles of Contagion
Plague Marines: x10, x2 plasma, aspiring champion with power sword/master-crafted bolter(combi-bolter)

The Cult (1 squad of 10 zombies & 6 squads of 10 cultists: mark of nurgle, flamer/stubber & shotgun for the aspiring champion)
The aspiring champions

A shot of some of the horde.

The Mutants (2 units of 5 chaos spawn)
the Muties from gorkamorka posted earlier in this thread. i'll get some paint on them and put new pics up soon.

Chaos Air Support (2 Helldrakes)

So far i've played 3 games with the list and won 2 drew 1. That is with autocannons on the hellblades not flamers, as they are not fluffy for this army. I find that toughness 4 cultists are well worth the points, especially with the nurgle sorcerers backing them up with gift of contagion. When i go up against a death stary unit i carefully feed them cultists and bog them down with spawn, finally sending in Necrosius, the champion and the apostles to finish the job. So far, the 10 man unit of PM's has not been completely destroyed. I'd have a hard time dealing with mass armor and flyer spam, the air support can only do so much. I think its a fluffy army, definitely fun to play if not actually competitive.

I've got more pics in the gallery if your interested. Plog planning wise, after the apostles of contagion it's on to finish up both The Tainted and The Blood Pact (IG allies detatchment), which are both rather close to done actually, then back to the Black Legion. This is why I've resurected this plog and ditched the idea of doing multiples, one plog is hard enough to maintain and i've got a bunch of different things finishing up at the same time. I'd really appreciate any feed back, either on modeling, painting or the list and tactics for horde cultists. Thanks for stopping by.

Hey Skalk, good to see you too buddy! Happy holidays and all that jazz, for chaos. Thanks. Yeah at 2k i have to take two force orgs to essentially bring 1 extra squad of spawn. Kinda silly but i'm stickler. The Tainted are the more legion like warband, I like the idea of Necrosius just doing his own thing with cultists and zombies.

Thanks squigsquasher. I'll do my best to keep it coming.

Here's some more of the Apostles, the second Plasma gunner and the Icon bearer. Still working on lighting for plasma gunners eyes and gun. Also, not super happy with the tarnish on the icon bearer so i'm going to have to do another layer, plasma too. So close to finishing this army ...

Thanks Skalk!

I'll update soon with some progress pics of the Muties when I get a chance, i've gotten some paint down on them. Still need to finish the bases on the Apostles and snap pics up of those too.
I'm not sure what project to pick up after the Apostles, so I thought i'd take suggestions on which one to do next, either of these two. I'll include links to the galleries of these projects so far.

The Tainted: A large Death Guard warband that seems to be heavily associated with Daemon Prince Mamon and his plague host. Lots of Infantry and Heavy Armor. Pretty close to done actually, not alot of pictures in the gallery yet. The army is eseentially Death Guard except they have chaos runes all over their armor. Inquisitorial investigation suggests this is to enhance daemon summoning or warp travel, possibly both. http://www.dakkadakka.com/gallery/images-35246-11541_The%20Tainted%20WIP.html

The Blood Pact Death Brigade:An elite group of killers that seems to be operating in support of various CSM warband throughout the Eye of Terror region. An allies-sized contingent, this army can be re-inforced by the sizeable traitor guard armory for escalated engagements.

I'll go through and fix the dead links etc to clean this place up a bit. I've also been working on my own Imperial Industrial Sector from Forgeworld and going for a really weathered city that has been abandoned ... or is it? This is my personal gaming table as well a backdrop for my Chaos armies and while i've gotten a lot done, it is still WIP so any and all C&C is more than welcome. The morning light in these shots is a little weird but I kind of like the effect lol, better pics to come. Thanks for stopping by!

I've also got a downed aquila lander and a bunch of craters coming soon, as well as three oop FW turrets i'm looking forward to getting some paint on. I'll put some pictures of that stuff later today. I also want to get some more work on the traitor veterans.

Stumbled upon this thread a few months ago whilst looking for inspiration for the traitor guard army I'm currently (slowly) building. Your renegades and Nurgle marines are great.

It's great to see the thread back up and running again, and with some truly fantastic looking scenery. If you have time when you do your next piece, I'd love a quick step by step on how you paint those buildings/boards. It'd really help my basing (I like little mini dioramas for my heavy weapons teams) and my super long term board project.
Spoiler:

But yeah, great work. Can't wait to see the group shot on that terrain.

Thanks FeindusMaximus! Here are a few more shots of the Landing Pad area with the defensive turrets in place. The turrets need the old two hatch portals and since I don't have any way of getting that, i'll need to do a quick green stuff mold for the top of two of them before slapping some paint down. I'll do a tutorial as I paint the skysheild and turrets to illustrate how I do my buildings and streets for alan and anyone else who may be interested.

For most games this entire area will most likely count as ruins with the crashed aquilla lander on top of the landing pad. The lander still needs some dirt and weathering love too.

Here is the most recently rusted building along a before shot. Still need to rust the floor and add a few other details. Going to make some 40k scale propaganda posters tonight, I seemed to have lost the first batch I made up.

And the finished building featuring Commissar Sterin.

Got my grubby hands on these hard to find and oop beauties. Can't wait to get some work on them. I think they are big enough to use as Kharybdis and regular dreadclaws and in anycase rare enough that they could easily count as either. Can't wait to get them painted up and use them in games...now to figure out how to mount them to a flying base...and come up with some dreadclaw strategies. If there are any suggestions for either I'm all ears!

Aloha Dakka! Been a while! I'm firing up the old WIP plog again and would love to hear any and all C&C as always! Without further blathering here is the newest project I'm working on, 2k full army of nothing but Assassins. This project has some minor conversions but mostly I was just trying to rebase and repose these awesome classic models. Thanks for looking!
Ladies first

Vindicares

Culexus's

Everasors

This last everasor was shot at night which exagerates the color profile a bit (irl he matches the others) and the last Culexus can be seen in the front row of the first group shot, I forgot to take a pic

Black Legion lol! When the Genestealer cult gets a release I'll definitely get back to that army but with the release of Traitors Hate my blog is going back to its namesake and the Black Legion is back. On the modeling bench now is the Raptor Talon and I'm going to be going full speed ahead on the Dreadclaws, Fist of the Gods, Abbaddon and the Bringers and oh so much more... just as soon as I get these assassins finished up. The madness! THE WARP! It grips my soul!! RRAAAGGGHHH! DO YOU HEAR THE VOICES TOO?!

2 more warp talons assembled with some minor kit bashing. I'm having the talons other than the champion wield dual chainblades because, firstly ... it's badass.. but also keeps with the Long War veterans theme, that these guys are as lethal with their blades as others are with claws. I also want to keep them from looking too ornamented or much different from the rest of the old raptor models in the Talon, the jump pack will be only real difference besides weapon load out. Anyways, thanks for looking as always C&C or just chatting is most welcome!

Double chainsword is definitely badass, it's such a shame that the considering how iconic a chainsword is it doesn't have some kind of rules bonus.

Shred would be pretty neat.

@EDC: Totally agree with you! I guess we should be thankful they have an Ap value now at least lol.

Talon squad finished and a raptor assembled last night. The champion from earlier pics is going to be this Talons Lord, he deserves the promotion ... and the free jump pack. Also got a start on a Claw, not much to see yet but at least I have an idea of what I want to do with them. Also I'd love some help to figure out what color to use for glowing and osl! I'm leaning towards a red-orange for contrast but blue could be good too ... maybe even green? In anycase it would be the osl for the entire army, so I'm agonizing over it a bit lol. I'm thinking red for the fires of hell/the warp but I'm open to all thoughts on this. As always, thanks for looking and especially for commenting!

Update time! Switched gears a little and made a Justarin squad with lightning claws. Turned out to be a little more effort than I originally planned since the Betrayal at Calth arms are missing the internal shoulder pad but the Justarin arms come with them molded. So, after alot of cutting and a whole extra step more than expected I finished assembly on these guys last night. Still... they are somehow too plain. I think spikes and skulls impaled on spikes are in order. Don't you?

I also made some gs molds to make up Black Legion pads for a few more terminators coming up

On the painting side I made some progress on the Lord of my warband. I give you Ayreas! Chosen of Abbaddon and leader of the Black Brethren!

Speaking of Abbaddon, working on him a bit too

@kernelTerror: Thanks brother! The body of the prince is actually a hordes model, everblight warcaster of somekind I got at some point on the cheap and sat broken in the bits box. I count the skull on his shoulder pad is the Skull of Ker'ngar. Having EW and AW on a prince is worth the points. He is a daemon summoner

Cheers for the kind words everyone!
@hamilkah: Thanks very much!
@turaxa & EDC: The sword is a conversion of the regular csm power sword with the tip taken from a beastmen sword blade and then cut down with a knife. It was actually a 'uge pain to pin sturdy lol. Thanks for noticing! Makes it feel a bit more worthwhile!
@kernelTerror: I imagine a bolter round to the hip is eminent, to stop this lowly worm from squirming, followed up with swift decapitation. It is not worthy of Papa's gift if everlasting life. It's head however shall rot and will become a Blight Grenade to be sure!

If you're interested, this next paragraph is some fluff for my Apostles of Contagion
The war on Vraks saw such heavy loses inflicted on the Traitor Death Guard warband known as the Apostles of Contagion that it had been listed as "destroyed" to the last man by the Ordo Malleus upon the conclusion of that protracted war. Even their leader, Necrosius had been reported to have been KIA by heavy weapons fire in the killing fields of Vraks. How then does one explain these Chosen of the Plague God appearing time and time again since the war? Always found surrounded by the most devoted mortal Renegades of Nurgle wherever the Plague of Unbelief [see also: Zombie Plague Inq.ref.666.699"] rears it ugly head. They seem more spectral than corporeal, appearing suddenly as if from nowhere and enshrouded in a dense toxic fog, Necrosius The Undying and his bodyguard of Apostles of Contagion can bee seen seemingly raising the dead back to unholy life and sending them howling at Imperial forces. Despite them and their rabid cultists reportedly suffering many casualties during intense firefights, no corpse has been recovered from any encounter with the warband since Vraks. When the fog lisfts all that remains in their wake is rust, decay and groaning hordes of the undead.
.
Thanks for reading! I'm looking to finish rebasing and finalize this army by Halloween so stay tuned if you like them for lots more. I sometimes add additional photos in my gallery to the ones posted here as well. As always I'd love to hear what anyone thinks about the models or just anything 40k really lol.

And to keep it going, how about more Apostles!
Here's the warband Icon bearer

The banner is in focus in this shot. Pretty happy with how the freehand came out, irl it's a bit darker.

And another of the cursed son's of Mortarion!

I've been watching this thread for a while and I have to say, you just don't fail to impress. If I weren't already set on a traitor legion, this would have easily swayed me towards Death Guard... but Alpha Legion and Iron Warriors especially have caught my fancy so I probably won't be joining you in praising grandpa Nurgle.

@King Pariah: Thanks brother! That's high praise! And don't worry, grandfather too watches over both of your legions. Perhaps even several among your warbands are touched by grandfather and you don't even know it yet!

Pretty much finished with these guys, except a couple Frag grenades and rust/glow for the plasma gunners. Then it's on the 32mm base switchover and finishing up the Renegades, which is the majority of this army. Anyways, here's more Apostles of Contagion. @lindsay 40k: Good eye! Yeah that table is basically my first born child lol.
@bignob: Thanks very much! Here you go!

I hope it's okay to go on a bit about the armies I'm working on, to say it out loud, so to speak as I plod along with this polg. Obviously FW's the Seige of Vraks both the books and the models, specifically the Nurgle armies, were absolutely the inspiration for my warbands. Their themes being, The Apostles of Contagion and the Tainted warbands, last encountered on Vraks, now circa the 13th Black Crusade era. The Tainted are a large Death Guard infantry force alligned with a favored Daemon Prince of Nurgle, Mamon, and are thought to operate from a plague fleet. The Apostles of Contagion are akin to daemons summoned from Grandfather's most faithful. They appear as ghosts in warzones where death and decay are rife and orchestrate Grandfather's horrible Plague of Unbelief. The Tainted are 7,777 points of Death Guard and Nurgle Daemons, while the Apostles, 3,333 points, are primarily a Chaos Renegade army with Necrosius and his boys CADed in depending on which of 7 books im using: Codex:Astra Militarum, Renegades and Heretics Servants of Decay list from the original 3Rd Vraks book [the way the army was intended to play], The new Vraks book, IA13 or Codex: Chaos Space Marines and supplements. Other chaos players know the pain of having so many rules source books I'm sure. Anyway, now that the Astartes of the Apostles are being finished, I feel compelled to get to their brothers as well

ENOUGH BLITHERING WORM!! POST PICTURES OR DIE UNDER MY BOOT!!

*Wimpers* Right away master! *Wheezes*... as promised... group shots of the Apostles of Contagion... *nervous chuckle*

Master! You've returned... forgive us for our surprise. We have made much headway indeed on your Tainted.

Most bolter marines are in final details/weathering though some still need thei heads finished. Champions all need alot of work still, I've been saving them while droning over the bulk of the squads. As with all my armies the Tainted is built with Apoc and 30k in mind too if anyone is wondering why so many plague marines but also trolling folks with 20 man plague marine squads is fun too! I'm nearing the finish line on the 5 squads that are the bulk of the infantry. Rather than stopping for pictures all the time, I just kept on painting but you get the idea of the process above. Anyway, here the goods.

Squad 1

Squad 2

Squad 3

Squad 4

Squad 5

Thanks for your patronage master.. I hope all was pleasing? *nervous chuckle* More pics in the gallery. Thanks for looking and as always C&C is most welcome!

Looking good! The dried caked blood especially. How did you paint it?
