Really liking the look of the Kolossus Walkers. They are looking nice repainted. I've got a trio of them to be used as dreadnaughts -a bit small, but not too bad- along side my Spacelords Sardaykin Legionaires.

Oh the last run of GW before this new stuff came out, it is simply labeled gunmetal and is about all out. I have Mithril silver left and will have to find new metals like this Dave.

I am using them all as souped up sentinels with a higher base cost due to being able to have 2 main weapons, so 60base as the second hardpoint, then the costs of the weapons as in the codex. Of course if used in other games, they will also be usable as generic walkers/legged tanks.

I like how the walkers turned out. And something just hit me... I go for a similar camo-pattern like yours on my vehicles. But I use Codex grey and Bestial brown with a thorne-like Black stripe to separate the colors. Very much like your pattern acctually... :/
Anyway, great job with them and the greatcoats!

Thanks DiDDe. Yeah a basic three tone camo I could have gone for a 4th color, but it would have been a bit over much.
Now to piant one more coat of red, do the attachments to their belts, and give ranks to the sgt's

Well, taking a break from the Dakka-MiG, I worked on the 'Great White Big Bomma"
The spare bitz off the Bomma kit have helped me do some unique ideas
Main Bomm bay

Triple engined bomma(glue caps from old glues)

From the Stompa, a spare damaged plate, the meks have not deemed it a problem .......yet. And i will be using the turret from the bomma kit for this big beast!

Gun turret pit, co-pilot to cockpit area, off centered as you can see, and cut down air intake

Skull plate from the stompa and Bomma bits too boot.

Well, the longer parts are thinner than the straights, but it may be odd enough as a "Y" tail as opposed to an odd "H" tail shape patter.

Well, been doing some more work once the weather calmed down,. Due to his strategic location and vulnerability, the tail-gunner grot got this kind of enclosure to make him feel better(Honestly he was jealous of the belly/chin turret gunner)
[/img]
The business end of the tail gun and gunner's station, he stays plenty warm due to be close to the engines
[/img]
Fuselage needed some support, so it got it!
[/img]
[/img]
Pilot, I will make a flat dial station for his instrument panel. and Gray stuff around the cockpit area
[/img]
Supa-shootas needed some extra support too.
[/img]
[/img]
Also as can be noted, wings are getting work done at last, and I gave thrusters as well, so it will appear as the Big Bomma, Da Great White, has basically five engines!I am also considering that the ripped plate along the sides of the Bomma, I might find guns and give it waist gun positions.

Like i said! flying fortress . also your rear guns look a little mis matched, although i've never made anything ork-ified so maybe its part of the scheme. Lookin great so far!

Man! That is looking great Shas! Did you base the fuselage design on the FW Fighta-Bommer? The toofy intake is my favorite part! And yes, the more oddly-placed turrets and bubbles the better IMHO! (shame to waste an armored sentinel top though)

This pic makes it look ALOT like a great white With it's downswept wings and mouth-looking air intakes. And my instant thought after that was that it would look great if you made some sort of a fin on the back of it. To really make it look like a shark. Just a small one so that it doesn't take up to much of the gunners view.
And the rear turret looks great! really cleaver use of a sentinel cockpit there my friend

@ WH40KPicasso: Yep, orks will scavenge and slap anything together, just so long as they can think it to work it will!
@Dave: Well, I was using the FW Orky FB as a basis, but they rounded it up a bit, I did wind up with something bigger than I anticipated. This will indeed be like a flying fortress, and that sentinel lid was combat salvaged! Me Meks nicked it fair an' skwair!
@DiDDe; Okay, maybe a small fin, propped up with more of the plates I will be adding rivets to all of those!
I thought it was a good way for the meks and oil grotz to go with it.
@Vik: Oh yes, and they are plates that will have rivets of course! Night work is cooler than day work.
@Bigfish: LOL! My Orks are very irreverent if anything else.

Well, more work will b pictured soon as it is now cooler out and I am more comfortable. For now, here is a "Baby Pic" of the Big Bomma. In the beginning....
[/img] Automatically Appended Next Post: Okay, so instead of making the likely vulnerable tail with just sheets of plastic glued haphazardly, I did the same thing I did with the fuselage and wing roots, rods!
[/img]
Now of course, we could not leave the rods naked as it were, so I fashioned 4 same shape panels.
[/img]
Here they are with the rudder+Rod assemblies
[/img]
Had to close off the wings and get them up to snuff for their second section!
[/img]
I had to work some sort fo control surface like appendage to the main wings! Especially with the left overs from the Dakka-MiG.
[/img]
Tail section looking coherent, and done so fast too!
[/img]
Both sections about ready for attaching to the fuselage!(Well, still in assembly process to be honest!)
[/img]
Both wings looking orky yet almost ready!,,,what is that odd shadow behind the ripped armour plate?
[/img]
Since some asked nicely, yes, I did add a central fins so that WAAAGH!!! Magnotz can Pishle at the Tau a wee bit! I even gave a nicki out of it off the trailing edge for effect.
[/img]
Oh yeah, got the tail sections done, "smoothed down some edges, and gave them pins for the holes I will drill for their support!

I'm pretty sure the only random Orky "damage myself" rule is for the Dive Bommer, you have to roll to see whether you hit the deck in a fireball, drop the bomb and pull up, or drop, pull up, AND the grot gets a shot. I don't believe there is an accidental shoot myself rule, I think it's just for fun

Well, I will likely have big deflector patches on the leading edges of the tail, I patched the fin after it got bent in an accident.

Now for the gray stuff work to begin! I also have to make a frame for the forwards windshield,,,likey use plastic baggy material stretched and glued in place and then 'ard coat painted on to harden it up a bit. I don't have clear plastic.

Well, if I were to doa looted T-hawk, I would have needed a bit more plasticard, but I used that on superheavy tanks T-400 and T-300!

Not all Chapters remove the gibblies, but some do a chem treatment that avoids such "distractions" in the head as the brain is the most powerful organ for that. Well, the Space Vikings tend to leave that alone altogether. After all, when you slay aliens and monsters all day, you have to have something besides drink and stories afterwards.

Haha nice! that's only 0.5 cm shorter than the marauder
now that i saw the skyshark in profile i got an idea.. I love the fin it currently has and all. But what if you could squeeze in another fin? A little bigger one right ontop of the turret?
And I took the liberty of stealing your pic, get some training in paint and made a fast sketch of what I was thinking about.

I thought about it, but honestly the layout of the seats is not that clear cut, very assymetrical and a fin there would not truly work as well as you'd think.

Even the Orks ned practical for getting into the cocpits as they do climb up and down into them. It was quite the bit to settle those stations where they were, so the only practical place for a fin was where it is.
Then again, if I ever do another Big Bomma, no two are ever the same....

Now That is what I'd call "skinning"- Great job!- your camera is focusing on the background stuff, that's why it's blurry. If your camera doesn't have the little targeting focus feature, then I'd shoot with a piece of paper or something behind it. It'll force the auto focus to work on the foreground image.

So, look at the plates and you will see how rivets will be applied some will be the straight lines from the looted Imperial materials, and then the plates will have their own.

I told you, it is the black, it does so much more for the looks than that bare naked white plastic, and the PVA glue goes on white, and goes clear like. Now for the next part to come. I must scrape down areas for the cockpits and add clear material sections to the windscreen. Not happy blue stripes Vik, they are "Lucky" blue stripes, in Ork minds, the color blue(which Lootas paint on themselves) are the derivation of luck, or favor of Mork, or possibly Gork, to favor their endeavors in the case of my vehicles, to not get exploded too easily.

will you kind of weather the bombs too? that thought just crossed my mind...
as for the general weathering... i am a bit torn... for one thing i think it is a bit much weathering... giving it a bit too much of a ruined look... but then again on the other hand it is a true beast... figuring that if orks create something like this it would be in use almost as long as a landraider for the marines... thus it has taken so much beating on such a long timescale that it is no wonder it looks as is...
by the way... good of you to actually have a flight stand thingy for the rod to fit in... otherwise i think this built might have been rather complicated...

Vomit brown for most spots, rotting flesh for the copper, for oxidation effects, Thrakka Green on the copper, chestnut for the rest, and it will be awesome, still have to work on the bomms getting weathered.

Looking really great! although i have one thing that i would like to throw out there... I think you should highlight the rivets somehow, a lighter/brighter red? or a copper/boltgun metal to make them pop. Just an opinion but i think it'd tie the bomma together a bit as the red just kinda runs on to me! Automatically Appended Next Post: PS 1st to comment pg #120!! suck on those rivets!

White Weathering powder works REALLY well for highlighting rivets I have found out recently with my Stormlord project.

Best I could do is dry brush the rivets. Got no powders of any color at all.
OK, calm down Picasso.
It should be! Is a massive flyer for something that should have been well, smaller, but took on a life of it's own,,,,Hmmm, Bomm-zilla.

Most of the worst should pass by, but the Thunder-storms will likely be spectacular, I am in the southern most parts of West Virginia, and just a hour or so from Roanoke in Virginia.
Ohio/Pennsylvania/New Jersey/New York/and such are getting the full effect in their faces when it starts.

Thanks Vik! It could, and it has the advantage that the Orkmower and other of the monster tanks cannot shoot much of anything at a flyer

I will have to check that out. As for the antenna, many things may seem out of place on such a construction. Orks add many things that were taken from enemies ontot heir machines, that was once a Landraider antenna, so it shows the Orky contempt for human engineering.

That is from the fact that men can hide under ground when the air power comes, by, but the tanks, they are a whole different manner, As was evidenced by the losses of the Wehrmacht and Waffen SS panzers if caught in daylight by Allied air power. So, the two orgs you speak of already know, safer to hide until the planes are gone from over head.

I was more or less talking about how the antenna was attached to the plane than the actual antenna itself. Maybe put some plasticard around the base of it and some rivets to make it look slapped on there? just was what i was thinking. Oh and you obviously never saw the plans for the "Landkreuzer P. 1000 Ratte " Propulsion: The Ratte was to be propelled by two MAN V12Z32/44 24 cylinder marine diesel engines of 8,500 hp (6.2 MW) each (as used in U-boats) or eight Daimler-Benz MB 501 20 cylinder marine diesel engines of 2,000 hp (1.5 MW) each (as used in E-boats) to achieve the 16,000 hp (11.8 MW) needed to move this tank. The engines were to be provided with snorkels also like those used by German submarines. The snorkels were of course designed to provide a way for oxygen to reach the engine, even during amphibious operations passing through deep water. Armament: The Ratte's primary weapon would have been a dual 280 mm SK C/28 gun turret. The turret was to have been a modified Kriegsmarine triple gun turret, removing one of the guns and loading mechanism. Further armament was to consist of a 128 mm anti-tank gun of the type used in the Jagdtiger or Maus, two 15 mm Mauser MG 151/15 autocannons, and eight 20 mm Flak 38 anti-aircraft guns, probably with at least four of them as a quad mount. The 128 mm anti-tank gun's precise location on the Ratte is a point of contention among historians, most believing that it would have been mounted within the primary turret, with some others thinking a smaller secondary turret at the rear of the Ratte more logical. Some concept drawings exist to suggest a flexible mount on the glacis plate. The tank was to be provided with a vehicle bay sufficient to hold two BMW R12 motorcycles for scouting, as well as several smaller storage rooms, a compact infirmary area, and a self-contained lavatory system.
