Actually, I did need them, but still...I miss being a kid at Christmas, the presents only get worse and worse. Like a cash see saw, the older you get, the more you pay and the less you get in return. The payoff is supposed to be the happy looks on faces of the kids in the extended familiy, but what have they done for me lately?!

As Homer once said in the Simpsons, 'Everytime I look into their cute smiling faces I just know that they are about to hit me with something.'

It's sadly still in the mail, striking postal services be damned. I'm settling for being with the family, which is always good.

For my mini Christmas (having proper Christmas when I actually have time to head home to see family, the joys of retail!) I have received a SM Battleforce, Sgt Tellion, a box of DE Hellions and Lelith Hesperax to replace the one that was stolen t'other weekend (thieving gits!). Also as a Christmas treat to myself picked up a copy of Rogue Trader to add to Dark Heresy and Deathwatch, and Horus Rising on cd (mainly so I could listen to it in-store yesterday.

Well, I got a Garmin Sat Nav unit. Now I can get to work via the best route possible..yay!

However, I did buy myself a butt load of Infinity miniatures and some stuff from Reaper.

So, mustn't complain.

Not much hobby stuff this year, the only thing I got was a copy of Strange Aeons, a Lovecraftian miniature game, which I really wanted. Besides that not much interesting besides a WWI style gas mask container with the mask intact made in -38.

Biggest hobby spend I've pulled out for quite a while. My gifts were mostly clothing, chocolates and so on. A wireless modem... that's about it!

I got, pretty much as my only gift, a very nice Testor's AC300 compressor for my airbrush.

Only downside is that it must have been damaged during shipping as the moisture trap/regulator assembly was screwed in to the body. Not the greatest idea ever when shipping, especially if it's something that extends a bit like that piece did.

But hey. I get to see if Testor's customer support is half-decent next week

Nothing wargaming related for me yet, though I did get a little RC copter, some shower stuff that I needed and a couple of nice shirts ^_^ I gt a $40 gift card to the lfgs so there will be some warhammer in it, but I'm considering spending it on my friends growing guard army when I gve him the new years gifts. Still have the extended family gifts to go tho.

40k/hobby wise, i got the Emperor Protects deathwatch adventure and a GW green doublewide case to lug my crap around to the game store!

Now that I think about it, I did buy myself the latest release from Studio McVey the other day, which I guess counts as a present to myself? Either way, it's a girl riding a dinosaur for chrissakes!

So far, a couple of gift cards. My big haul will be at the xmas party tonight. But, I never get game stuff, no one knows what to get or ever asks about it :( so I just buy game presents for myself all year long

Haven't gotten anything tabletop related, but I got $450 dollars in check form that is going towards the PAX: East convention in late March/early April. Hopefully a couple of you guys might be there and maybe I'll meet a couple fellow Dakkites at the warhammer tables! Absolutely nothing gaming related, my family considers 40K to be a kids hobby. Lame, I know. But my grandmother gave me a half gallon of SKYY vodka, and my parents bought me a new TOPS cigarette rolling machine. Seems odd to me that they won't buy me 40K stuff but they'll happily supply me with cigarettes and booze, go figure. LOL

My son got the Battle of Macgrage...how ever its spelled and lotsa support units and vehicles enough for 3,500 pts of Ultra Marines. Sadly I get the job of painting it all :(

I can buy all the stuff I need for scratch builds to last the next 3 or 4 months.

I got 30 pounds in online store vouchers for GW and some monies. It has already been spent ordering a dwarf battalion, some miners, Grudge thrower and some characters to bulk out my Battle for skull pass dwarfs that have been waiting for some company . I also got a lovely hand done oil painting of a dragon a friend did for me, The crazies on DVD, Some zombie based horror books and enough chocolate to make a diabetics foot drop off.

I got very little in terms of "War gaming related" presents this year,basically due to the fact that the Missus couldn't readily pop into the FLGS and find Praetorians...so...in Games related items I got.

I also "got" a HUGE amount of leftovers,despite having a half dozen of My Missus' Family dining with us,and each of them leaving with arm loads of foil wrapped goodies,we still have a refrigerator FULL of various tasty leftovers,including 3 gallons of Gumbo,half a Ham,several batches of Fudge and such and 2 Sweet Potato pies...life is good.

The only hobby-related things I got were from myself:

60 1/4" x 1/8" rare earth magnets, plus some magnetic rubber for basing (with this I can finish magnetising my orc boys' bases and movement trays, thus making all my rank and file models are easy to transport - my night goblin horde and black orcs are already so-arranged).

Army Painter plate mail primer spray, quickshade soft tone and anti-shine spray, for my just-starting Gondorian army. Have just tried dipping my first model, and am not sure what I think of the results just yet; very happy with the sprays, though.

A unit of Warriors of Minas Tirith, and a unit of Gondorian Rangers - the first units of my aforementioned Gondorian army.

£30 of the above was paid for via relatives' Christmas money, and that's it for hobby stuff.

Dreadstone Blight - which is a lot bigger than I thought it was, nice detail (though overflowing with skulls of course) and quite easy to put together
Walls and Fences - sounds boring, but actually quite dynamic terrain pieces and also handy for soaking up the ridiculous amount of scenery (D6 + 4 pieces) you have to put on the table these days

EDIT - Got some Hobbycraft vouchers from the father-in-law so we can add Dwarf Warriors to the list (Hobbycraft doesn't sell Skaven )

My girlfriend surprised me with some much needed paint for my on-going terrain painting project and I also splurged and bought myself a box of Harlequins for my budding Dark Eldar army as well as another commissar for my Guard army (the commissar with the powerfist and inspirational book).

While not a Christmas purchase I also had a box show up from Garden Ninja Studios on the 23rd, so that felt like an early Christmas gift. I love having freshly painted minis grace my doorstep.

Wargaming related: A guard army and a vindicator.

IA 5-7 to get me started on Krieg ....

Now I only have to get back to GW customer support as the were ordered over the GW page and all arrived damaged :-(

I got a laptop…. Actually I got a laptop last Christmas but my wife took it over shortly after because her computer died and I still had a useable tower which is downstairs where I paint.
Now, this year I bought her an all in one touch screen bad boy….. so I finally get my “new” laptop back….
Sucky thing is………. I have a years worth of pictures, bookmarks and software I have to transfer…. I bought a USB data transfer cable but THIS SUCKS !!!!!
Other then that I got the 40K 5th addition hard cover and a bunch of 40K stuff including the Ultra Marine movie…..
I’m going to go paint some Tau to chill out…..
I also have a "secret Santa" through our local gaming club.... but he must of forgoten me.....

Within the next week I hope to add in 2 blisters of plasma and meltagun stormtroopers. Then get it all painted for an apoc game at the FLGS

Lucky bastard you! Gaming wise I got a 100$ gift card to GW, 30 gift card to a local hobby store, and 70 gift card to Gamestop. I tend to ask for giftcards because I dont want people messing up my wish list wants!

I got a plague furnace and some monks to push it. And the fifth wraithguard I needed. When will they get plastics?
Oh, I got Coupling on DVD too.

I got loads of random stuff, but in the way of wargaming, I got a Tau Battleforce, 2 Fire warrior boxes, a Devilfish, a Hammerhead, more paints, glue, and a new set of files. A good contribution to the Third Sphere Expansion!

Gaming related, I got a High Elf Lord on a Dragon and a Battle Mat. Also, bought myself Munchkin with a gift card.

It's about $60 USD for the Infantry Company and $81 USD for the Artillery Group.

Hungarians are a really interesting faction, and they have some cool looking, domestically produced armor.

Dreadstone Blight and a Skyray from the family, as well as a $25 GW certificate, which went to the Battlewagon upgrade kit, and a pot of Desert Yellow. I plan on converting the Skyray into a Battlewagon with Deffrolla, as soon as I can pick up some magnets. I also gave my brother the new Dark Eldar codex, which he is enjoying very much. It replaces the old DE codex I got him last year.

A very good christmas, overall.
