Warhammer 40,000 RPG “The Black Library”
It is the 13th Black Crusade and the Cabal of Ahrihman have entered the Webway seeking the Ancient Black Library. Which holds every tome, book and scroll containing the arcane secrets of Chaos, and it is not only Ahriham who seeks the Black Library. Inquisitor Czevak and his Elite Storm troopers have been searching for the Black Library will do anything to stop him. But the Harlequins will defend the Black Library at all costs.
Gameplay

You must choose one of the following races, you start of at level and continue to level up through backstory posts about your characters life and decide what you do by typing your reaction. Important situations involve you making decisions that will affect your quest for glory such as leaving the planet. Some tactical desions may involve picking a number between 1-10 called the Pan system used by Mordoskul. There are many diffrent types of Wargear and enemies.

(Hey blood reaper, I may join this one, but I'll do my char sheet tomorrow if that is alright )

I shall be playing Kayln, a Death Jester hopeful.

Name: Zade
Story: No memory of his past life, as in a battle with the Chaos a few years ago, he lost in his memory due to severe brain damage. Now he tries to make a new life in guarding the Black Library. He is recognised by all who are his allies.
Personality: Kind-hearted, but serious and tactical.
Plans: Good, to defend the Library with his Harlequin brethren

Character creation:
Name: Doyl Harker
Story: Ever since doyl was a child he was raised in the schola. Soon after he was inducted, he was fastracked into the stormtrooper class and excelled in all aspects of his training. he went on to come to prominenece fighting all manner of the Imperium's enemies but showed great prowess and resistance against the powers of Chaos. As such he was recruited into the Inquisitorial Stormtrooper legions and come upon by Inquisitor Czevak just a few years ago. He's been a part of the Inquisitor's retinue ever since.
Personality: hard stare, stallwart and devout, used to command, quick decision maker, thinks on his feet and gets the job done.
Wargear: hellgun, hellpistol, krak and frag grenades, carapace armor.
Good or Evil plans: to protect and serve Inquisitor Czevak and his retinue in their quest for the Black Library.

Name: Vizmar
Story: A CSM very interested in the black library. Came from the black dragons chapter. Was captured by dark eldar and had his bone blades removed. Joined Ahrihman when he was rescued by him.
Personality: Volitale, untrusting, backstabber, and a outcast
Wargear: Bolter, Chainsword, Grenades, and Power armor
Evil plan: Has a secret plan to steal a certain book from the BL and regrow his bone blades and also exact revenge on the imperium.

Character Creation:

Name: Tarwin Grimmok

Story: Tarwin was born on an Ecclesiarch planet to wealthy parents. Rebellious from a young age he joined the guard to escape the well-structured life of his home world. He saw a couple years of action in various sectors and campaigns until, when acting under Inquisitorial direction to cleanse a planet infested with Chaos insurrection, Tarwin's unit was utterly destroyed. He was the only one to live, and was saved by the Inquisitor himself and his retinue, but not before showing considerable combat prowess in the presence of the Inquisitor. As such he was immediately assigned to Czevak's personal Stormtrooper accompaniment.

Personality: Brash, easy-going, and a jokester. He tries to keep it light and seems to see the best in things. Sometimes this shows ignorance, but in Tarwin's case that's the only thing that keeps him sane: Faith in the inherent good of Humanity, and ignorance of the strength Humanity's enemies really possess.

Name: Kayhl
Backstory: Raised in the tangled strands of the Webway like all Harlequins, Kayhl has dedicated his life to the destruction of She Who Thirsts, like the rest of his kind. For an Eldar, Kayhl is a fledgling, yet to select a Path to dedicate his life to, and is still learning the way of war.
Personality: Kayhl tends to laugh at the most inappropriate times, often chortling like a loon during combat, a habit that tends to unnerve his foes.
Wargear: Flip belt, holo field, chain sword, shuriken pistol
Good Plans: Send the Chaos foe back to the Warp in body bags.

Kayln and Zade wait patiently at the Web way gate for their Solitaire leader to arrive, reports of Chaos Servants finding a way into the Web Way had shaken the Harlequins. If they could find a way into the Black Library could be Chaotic for the entire Galaxy. They had to stop him.

Doyl Harker and the Storm Trooper regiment assigned to Inquisitor Czevak for a while and were preparing for their attack against the forces of Chaos. Czevak had informed them well of the tactics and weaponry of the enemy before any battle as a percussion. The regiment was originally going to assist the defence of Cadia and the other worlds threatened by the forces of Chaos but were pulled back by Imperial Command.

Vizmar and his Sorcerer masters had been preparing the attack on a Web Way gate. They had searched for years to find it , a possibel entrance into the Web Way and the Black Libary.

"He should be here. Time is running out. Could something have already happened?"

"It is possible, but unlikely. Until then, we must make ready the weapons of war."

"I agree, but first we shall wait for him."

One of the 3 Webway Gates flikers to the life as a small group of Eldar emerge , they are injured and tierd. Even the Solitare is missing his Power Sword and bleeding Badly , while the other Harlequins rush towards them.
"They Have found it , we must stop them."
The other Harlequins rush towards their Grav-Vehicles and transports while others ready their weapons.
"Prepare for war"

Kayln gives a madcap giggle, drawing his chainsword and shuriken pistol. "Even the Great Enemy could not stop us, what hope do these mon'keigh have?"

Kayln jumps onto a Venom along with Zade and several other Harlequins all eager to end these vermin and scum. The Venom soon takes flight into the Portal as the Eldar prepare to battle the servents of the Chaos God Tzeentch.

Doyl and his team of stormtroopers are sitting in the back of an Inquisition valkyrie, it is travelling through a dark storm toward their destination. Doyl thinks of the mission and its parameters, it was very likely they would see things that normal men would be driven insane just to attempt to comprehend.

Doyl offered a prayer to the empror for protection and strength, he looked around, they would all need it. He knew very well that all of them would probably perish in this attempt. He looked at the sombere faces of the men around him. Suddenly, a voice chimed in his ear bead.

"Five minutes to target, get ready." Doyl acknowledged and looked around at his men, all in their armor and jump gear. Doyl put on his helmet and his voice travelled out of it, distorted by the built in vox amp.

"Get ready to go, load up and run final weapon checks, we have five minutes."

the valkyrie was filled with activity as the men began to get ready to drop.

"This is unusual. Nobody has ever entered the Library. They must be stopped. Kayln, do not get too ahead of yourself. We must play this wisely, and not use brute force."

The Harlequins blast out of a Web way portal, their brightly coloured ships and craft stand out on the dull grey world, long dead since the destruction of their Empire. The enemy soon comes into view as bolts of unholy energy fly through the air as Rubric Marines are guided by their Sorcerers into battle. The Bolts of energy unleashed by their weapons destroy few Eldar Craft as they quickly descend upon the Chaotic Warriors. Kayln and Zade engage the Thousand Sons in close ranged combat along with their brethren, their blades rip through the armour of the Chaos Marines. The Sorcerers of Tzeentch unleash terrible Sorceries and horrors against the Eldar crushing them in a fury of Psychic Blasts and Warp lightning that destroys anything in their path. Jet Bikes fly through the sky in a fierce battle against the foul Daemons.
The Storm Troopers Valkyrie is hit by a blast of Daemonic Warp fire, causing it spin out of and crashing. Doyle awakes trapped under a small metal bar. He pushes it away and looks around seeing only dead Storm Troopers except for four.
“Doyle you survived! We fought we were the last alive we have to find a way out of here.”
The Storm Troopers break open one of the Valkyries hatches’ and watch Eldar Harlequins battle Thousand Son Chaos Marines.

"Come brother! Let us repel these foul invaders!"

I unleash fury upon the unholy attackers.

Kayln giggles as he plunges his chainsword deep into the innards of an Aspiring Sorcerer, showering his motley with red gore, before withdrawing the roaring weapon and whipping it across the sorcerer's neck, decapitating him. "You will not get far...."

Kayln quickly doges the Bolt shots from a Rubric Marine how appers behind the fallen Sorcerer , his shots just missing him by inches. The Rubric Marine turns and continues to fire until Vade imapales him from behind. Rubric Marine Havocs soon apper on the edge of a clif and begin fiering on the Eldar forces with their heavy weapons.

"Distract them, while I bring swift death from the shadows."

Kayln laughs "Oh course, only the best entertainment for our honored guests!" The Harlequin leaps off to engage the Havocs.

Vizmar ran up too a Harquin and inpaled it through the head with his chainsword. He kicked the dead corpse of his sword. He ran over to assist some Thousand sons in close combat with a troupe of Harquins. He swiped and severed a harquin`s arm. The thing reeled in agony. Vizmar then shot the wretch through its beautiful mask. The troupe noticed him and he roared a challenge. The first harquin rushed him but got met by a hail of bolt rounds. The rest side stepped the hail and all attacked from different angles. Vizmar swung a huge arc and gutted two of the troupe. The other three all attacked as one. The attacks did little to Vizmar`s armor. He shot one through the head when they backed off. He then saw the other two get torn apart from daemon bullets. He nodded a thanks but then realized that it was stupid. These things only were dust nothing else. He moved on and noticed a group of havoc`s engaged by two harquins. The aspiring champion was swiping left and right trying to land a hit on the nible eldar but was slain after a half minute of fighting. The havocs were dying slowly. Vizmar charged over there and swiped at one of the harquin`s. It backflipped over the blade and it stuck its own blade out. It narrowly missed but Vizmar felt pain. He looked down and saw that a shuriken round had gone through his thigh. He howled and grabbed the harquin by the wrist. He crushed its hand and threw it. It landed and ran off. The other had dissapeared. The havocs picked their weapons back up and resumed firing. Vizmar snorted and walked off to find more prey.

Vizmar watchs as Eldar Venoms speed pass him laying waist to several Rubric Marines and Sorcerers as Harelquins decend apon their anceint foes. Zade and Kayln run past the confused Chaos Chaos Marine towords the Havocs. Zade jumps and just misses a the wave of boltshots and Plasmagun blasts unealsehd by the Chaos Havoc. He then jumps towords the first Havoc ready for the kill while Kayln battles Chaos Rubric marines.

Doyl gets his wits about him, and looks around at his fellows, taking stock of their postion and situation. He goes to each dead stormtrooper and takes their tags, putting them in his webbing with a prayer to the Emperor for their souls.

"Dig em some holes and bury em, if anyone comes by, they'll take care of the rest."

Soon, the stormtroopers had lined up their dead comrades in a few unmarked graves and had fullly stocked up on ammo and equipment from the dead's supplies. Finally, Doyl moves out in the direction of a ridge he can see in the distance, motioning for the others to follow.

"Come on, we need to get our bearings, we need to stay out of sight too, we can't afford to draw attention to our small numbers."

In a somber mood and with the rain still pouring, the stormtrooper fireteam marches away from the crash site.

Doyl looks up to see a group of Valkyries land only a half a mile away, but something flies over head and drops something. The group of Valkyries is attacked by strange creatures, carrying unknown weaponry.
“Sir life forms detected! We need to move!”

Doyl takes in the situation around him and quickly thinks of a course of action.

"Lets head for the valkyrie's, if we can clear the area we can get support. I don't think they've seen us so don't jump until the last second."

The stormtroopers head down the hill, hugging cover until they get in range.

Somthing charges one of the Stormtroopers and impales them befoe slashing the Strom Troopers cheast several times. It disspers in a flash as Doyle watch two others apper out of no were ready to charge and fight.

• Name: Ivan Riker
• Story: He was born on a small solar system Aten III. The planets government was ruling with an iron fist. Corruption was engulfing the entire system, the inquisition became alert of what was going on. They sent in a few recon teams to investigate the planet. The realized the government would have to be over thrown, even some people realized this and made an underground rebellion. Ivan was one of the officers in the Battles of Aten III. Noticing the problem the inquisition outsourced some help to the rebellion force. To be short, they finally destroyed the corruption within the system of Aten III. The inquisition started hiring veterans from the rebellion to work under them. So Ivan Riker took that job
• Personality: Ivan puts you in mind of a lone wolf, his instincts are what mostly powers him, Ivan has the mind set of full self-preservation. His moods will vary from being cheerful to becoming quite serious. He has round blue eyes that are like two sapphires. His luxurious, straight, yellow hair is worn in a style that reminds you of a waterfall. He is very average height for a human; Ivan also has an elegant build. His skin is tanned. He has small feet. His wardrobe is tight; it is also highly organized through color and cloth type. (Also added looks)

Doyl grabs a grenade and tosses it at one of the apparitions. He pulls out his hellgun and begins to fire on full auto at them as well.

"Blast em! Turn em to ashes!" He yells, the men behind him also throw grenades and blast away with their weapons.

Ivan and Doyle fire furiously at the attacking Harlequins , Doyle is able to kill most of them but Ivan is assaulted and resorts to slashing the Eldar through its visor with his Combat knife. He pushes the Harlequins body off him in disgust. The other Storm Troopers give prasie to the skills of Doyle and Ivan as they reach the Valkaryies.
"It seems you survived the Crash , unlike the others. Its good to know we have strong troops at our disposel."
The Storm Trooper Sergant seems very pleasesd with the efforts of Doyle and Ivan.

Doyl smiled and chuckled a bit at the praise but his countenance quickly went dark again, he reached into his webbing and took out the dogtags of the lost stormtroopers, giving them to the sergeant and turning to find a place to sit for a moment.

Doyl sat near a valkyrie and took off his helmet, wiping the sweat from his brow.

"So now that we're all here, which way is the objective?"

“We have discovered an Eldar Webway gate that is searched for by the Thousand Sons legion of Chaos Space Marines. If they are to gain entrance to the Eldar’s Black Library untold Havoc will be unleashed on the Galaxy. We the Holy Inquisition are ordered to purge these heretics and Xenos. We will be leaving shortly to attack a Chaos camp. I’ll have you two placed in a new Squadron until we can find new arrangements. ”

I slice and dice the havocs, bringing pain to all who face me.

*Vizmar shot a harquin and it dropped dead. He howled. He had been hunting that one for a few hours. Vizmar had wondered away to find this one spying on their camp. Vizmar then recieved a transmission from Arhiman. "Vizmar i need you return to camp. I have a mission for you that you`ll love." Vizmar howled again and ran back towards the camp.*

The First Havoc falls as he stab in the gut and then decapitated , the others soon follow as they are cut down by the Harlequins fast attacks and blows.

Vizmar wacthes a group of Chaos Havocs being cut down by a Harlequin and Eldar vehicles. He rasies his Bolter and begins fiering shots of unholy fire at the Harlequin.

"Kayln, they have all fallen over here, how is it with you?"

I look out for any more hostiles to dispose of.

*Vizmar`s bolter clicks dry. He clips it to his bolter to his belt and pulls out his chainsword. He also picks up a shuriken pistol. He charges the lone harquin. The eldar accepts the challenge. Vizmar shoots the shuriken pistol as he approachs the harquin. It dances around the shots. It then launched a volley of it own. Vizmar takes a the hits without flinching. By then Vizmar had closed the space. Vizmar swings his chainsword two handed having discarded the pistol. The eldar dodges and attacks with his own chain sword. The chainsword was deflected off Vizmar`s chainswords return swipe.*

Doyl, along with the rest of the stormtroopers move out for their mission. Soon, the entire group was standing on a ridge overlooking the chaos camp. The plan was simple, Doyl would take a contingent into the right flank, Ivan would take the left. the two groups split up and moved towards the camp.

Doyl crouched low and walked slowly forward, motioning for the stormtroopers to follow.

"Hold fire until I say, we'll take those heretics by surprise and kill em before they knew what hit em."

Staying in cover, Doyl crept ever closer to the camp.

Shas and Yeroc
Zizmar and Zade battle in close combat , Zades quick attacks are able to bring Zizmar to his knees but is knocked back and injured by a swipe from Zizmars chainsword.

Doyl and his Storm Trooper group come to an Archway entrance into the camp , it is guarded by several Sentry Guns and Rubric Marines.

"I will also take the rear you can never be too careful, keep your heads down men."

I flip backwards, before bringing my pistol up and firing two charged shots at Vizmar, before leaping over to him gracefully and slashing with my chainsword

Cackling madly, Kayln flips towards Vizmar, slashing at him like a dervish of ancient Terra, gouging deep scars in his armor.

The Chaos Marine begins his retret , taking time to fire vollays of Bolter shots narrowly missed by the Harlequins how turn their attentions to their main objective.

The Chaos Marines miss the Storm Troopers easily.

"Now, let us kill all that remain."

Eldar Venoms and Warwalkers speed past Vade as he observes a large ship comming into view.

"That ship, it looks hostile. More enemies."

The Ship begins to disgorge Valkyrie Gunships marked in Inquisitional symbols and markings; they begin to head towards the Chaos Camp while others toward the Webway Gate. Eldar Jetbikes and other ships fly towards the approaching Imperials.

"They're heading towards the webway gate! We must protect it!"

As the Chaos troops pass, Doyl makes a hand signal to the stormtroopers around him and they quickly and quietly disperse inside the wall.

Doyl grabs a chaos trooper from behind and dispatches him slently with his bayonet and the rest of the stormtroopers behind him finish off the sentries.

Still maintaining stealth, Doyl motions the others to advance quietly. the stormtrooper's had entered the camp.

The Chaos Camp is full of strange artefacts and weaponry, Predator tanks and Rhino tanks dot the encampment tended to by Techmarines and Sorcerers. Dreadnoughts chained to the ground and being repaired by Chaos Marines that have not fully succumbed to the foul fate of the Thousand Sons while Chaos Cultists carry tank ammunition and heavy weaponry. Doyle and his Storm Troopers hide behind a small armoury were too Cultists are having a conversation.
“Heard something about the Webway gate earlier, Sorcerer says Imperials have entered the area.”
“Crap but I still don’t think they’re going to get any were near hear.”
A: Assasinate the Cultists (Test 1-10)
B: Don't let them pass

The Harlequin jumps into a small fighter craft and activates it , the Vehicle begins to fly towards the Imperial fleet with deadly speed.

"Kayln, as soon as you are ready, take a vehicle and join me. We must drive them back!"

(Speaking of that I don't think Mordo has really posted much the last few days )

Kaylen mounts the Vehicles turret and begins fiering on the Imperial Valkyries and Thunder Bolts.

"Perfect. They are not getting even close to the Gate. This should be easier than I thought it would be."

The Eldar fighter is hit by an Anti Artillary round and begins to crash.

OOC: I'm back! Sorry for the long wait!

Kayln giggles, and leaps onto a jetbike, zipping ahead to engage the mon'keigh.

Kayln and Zade fly next to a Human Valkyrie as it prepares to land.

*Vizmar stumbles back into the camp. The back of his left knee has been torn up. He has a new scar on his face from a glancing blow of a chainsword. Vizmar walks into the main entrance and walks to a armoury reserved for him. A couple cultists are lazing around. Vizmar doesnt pay them any attention. He also doesnt notice the group of humans behind the structure. He walks in the building and puts down his chain sword and grabs a new one. He starts taking his damaged breast plate off. He takes 10 minutes to replace his armor.*

"Keep it steady. I'm going to try to hijack it."

I get up, and wait a few moments before leaping onto the Valkyrie with all my strength, and begin to hijack it.

Kayl giggles as the mon'keigh crew give a cry of alarm as Zade crashes through the cockpit, bashing the pilot's head against the controls before hurling out into the air. Swooping past, Kayln sinks his purring chainsword deep into the glass of the copilot's cockpit, ending his life in a cloud of gore.

The Valkyrie at first is strange to control but soon is easy , the Two soon land the Vehicle near the conceled Eldar Camp.

Doyle and his troops and his troops sneak past a small bunker and a Dreadnought that is chained down while its sarcophagus lies only a few feet away. Doyle and his men quickly duck as two Chaos Cultists pass both drunk and confused.

The Harlequin seems shocked but quickly rallies a squad of Harlequins

In reality it is Tzeentch that whispers to Atlas, sending him on his journey to the gates of the black library to aid his new campion, Ahriman in his search for the tomes of knowlege.
• Personality: A decieved marine who still believes in loyalty and honour, he keeps his armour meticulously clean and free of taint, however he has painted it Black and gold, to symbolise his disdain for the servants of the Imperium and the gold his faith in his Emperor
• Wargear: Power Armour, Chainsword, Bolt Pistol, Bolter, Frag n Krak.
• Good or Evil plans: Only the eradication of all who stand in his way and to see Srhiman claim his prize. HE could however be swayed back to the side of good if the persuasion could cut through the woven spells of Tzeentch. It would however need a Chaplain of considerable zeal to return him to his chapter....
