The Past
It's been 20 years since NI Day, since the UN was smashed by the alien invaders. The N'ss left after ensuring we would never be able to mount a counterattack. They bombed cities, left entire nations as piles of dust. What followed was worse than what anyone could have ever imagined. The remaining UN outposts were brutally smashed by a faction known as the Conclave, led by a megalomaniac known as the Voice. The Conclave wasted no time in consolidating it's power and bringing the populace under control. The next few years were marked by a violent pogrom against free thinkers and any that refused to bow to the Voice. In the end, the Conclave had killed more than the N'ss and the Terran Civil War combined. It only got worse when they found out about Project Lazarus. The UN had set up a contingency plan in case they lost the war. They intended to find a way to raise the dead, negating the damage the N'ss had wreaked on Earth. 2 years ago, something whent wrong, and flesh eating monsters roamed the Canadian plain. Now the Conclave wants the power to create undying soldiers, so they headed for the Lazarus Facility in Canada. The Lazarus Guard and a group of resistance fighters from the states drove them off, but not after discovering something much, much worse than zombies and ghouls... They found Vault 17, and unleashed the horrors within. The resistance fighters managed to kill the Hive Mind that was controlling the Mycomorphs in the Vault, and the facility was thought secure. Now, both the Conclave and the UN Remnant are seeking it out. The UN to fix their mistakes and create true life, and he Conclave to create a new breed of super-soldier.
The Present
Two years have passed since the Lazarus Affair, a bid by both the UN and the Conclave to secure the Lazarus Facility, a massive science station attempting to reanimate dead tissue to mitigate the losses suffered during the N'ss War. Project Lazarus was a failure, all those within were either killed or became something far more than human, and something far less. During the initial attack, the UN and Conclave forces suffered near total losses, with a single squad of UN soldiers making it out alive. During the evacuation, the UN lifted Herbert West and Strelok Tauben, two Lazarus scientists and components of the Lazarus Guard. Rather than see the Facility fall to the Conclave, the UN called down an orbital strike, blasting it to rubble even as the Conclave arrived. Now, the UN prepares to strike at Conclave held Chicago, to liberate the city from the hands of the Voice, the enigmatic leader of the Conclave. This is where our story begins, with the UN preparing for Operation Anvil...
Factions

Conclave
The Conclave is the current reigning faction in the remains of Earth, crushing any resistance with an iron fist. Their populace is composed of emotionless dull-eyed drones, who trudge about seeking to please the Voice with their labors. Their soldiers are distinctive in their gas masks and black uniforms. Original thought is a crime in the Conclave, and the law is enforced brutally by shotgun toting Enforcers.

Soldier- The basic footman of the Conclave's endless army.
Starting Equipment: Machine Gun, body armor, medikit, pistol, 5 grenades
Enforcer- The de facto gestapo of the Conclave, Enforcers prowl the streets with their shotguns, meeting out punishment on free thinkers and non-conformists alike.
Starting Equipment: Shotgun, medikit, riot armor, 3 nerve gas grenades, riot shield
Thought Policeman- These psychics patrol the streets, hunting down thought criminals and resistance members.
Starting Equipment: Reaper Pistol, flack vest

Ghost- Cloaking snipers that can kill whole squads before they even know he's there.
Starting Equipment: Sniper Rifle, flack vest, cloaking device, combat knife, pistol
Phantom- The utterly lethal Phantoms trail their prey under the cover of a powerful cloaking device, tearing into them with wicked neural-scythes.
Starting Equipment: Reaper Pistol, flack vest, neural-scythe, cloaking device
Engineer- The technicians of the Conclave are unique, as they are allowed to develop personalities to help them come up with creative solutions to problems.
Starting Equipment- Flack vest, pistol, multi-tool, servo-arm, 3 demo charges

UN Remnant
The Remnant has fallen on hard times, the Conclave constantly hammers them in combat, and recruitment has dropped to near nothing in the past months. They fight a desperate war against a seemingly unstoppable foe.

Soldier- The basic footman in the UN army.

Heavy Assault Trooper- The heavy assault trooper is the shock and awe unit of the Remnant, dropping down on enemy positions and dealing incredible damage with their Ripsaw guns.

Sniper- Marksmen renowned for their ability to pick off foes at insane distances with their long rifles.
Starting Equipment: Sniper Rifle, pistol, flack vest, 3 nerve gas grenades
Psych- UN psychics that are trained to root out traitors in their ranks.
Starting Equipment: Reaper pistol, flack vest
Special Rules: Psychic (see below)
Jump Trooper-Using experimental jet-packs, the jump troopers take to the skies, bringing death from above.
Starting Equipment: Assault Rifle, body armor, medikit, pistol, jet-pack
Engineer- When a bridge needs to be built, or a factory bombed, the UN calls in an engineer.
Starting Equipment- Flack vest, pistol, multi-tool, servo-arm, 3 demo charges

RULES
To perform an action, simply state what you want to do. The game is played In Character, and everything you do or say will apply directly to your character. If you are speaking out of character, be sure to write OOC before you post.
WARNING: THIS GAME IS LETHAL!
Chances are, a couple of you are going to die over the course of the RP, whether another player hits you with nerve gas or a Vivisector cuts you into your component pieces. When your character dies, you can make a new one, and I'll fill in how they enter into the current scene.
I must ask that everyone use the format below for their character.
BASE STATS

You have 20 points to divide among your stats, but you must have a minimum of 1 in each stat. The maximum point value for any stat is 6, but can be raised higher by mutagens or other effects.
Strength, The ability to carry heavy objects and inflict more damage with your strikes.
Agility, A person's speed and dexterity. This is how well they can dodge and hit an enemy.
Toughness. How healthy and fit you are. This is for resist damage and decrease.
Will Power. Your ability to reason. This will help with Psychic powers and your ability to find and notice things.
Intelligence. This is knowledge. This is how much you know and how well. This is for doing complex skill tasks like computers, history, math, writing and medical.
Charisma. This how well you can communicate with and lead people. This will help with leading and persuading people. Clearly only works on NPCs.
SCARS OF LAZARUS
If you are playing a character who was involved in the Lazarus Affair (as seen in the Lazarus RP), you may select one advantage and one disadvantage. If you choose an advantage, you MUST choose a disadvantage, and vise versa. Below is a list of some examples of advantages and disadvantages.
ADVANTAGES
Alert Having fought through hordes of the horrible once-men, you have learned to expect the unexpected, and as such are more aware of your surroundings.
Jaded Nothing in your life was as horrific as the Lazarus Affair, and you are immune to the mundane terrors of this world.
Strategic Dismemberment You've killed enough mycomorphs in your time to know that a well timed removal of a limb can mean the difference between life and death.
DISADVANTAGES
Necrophobia In your experience, the dead rarely stay dead, and you have an acute fear of the dead and their sightless, blank eyes.
Flashbacks You suffer horrific flashbacks at the most inopportune times, fighting battles long since past.
Dementia Your mind has snapped since the Lazarus Affair, and you can see the shapes of mycomorphs everywhere, whispering their secrets to you in the dark.

PSYCHIC POWERS
Both the Conclave Thought Police Officer and the UN Psych are psychic, allowing them to use psychic powers. All powers are subject to the standard rules for all tests. As a psychic, you can perform both telepathic and telekinetic feats. Describe in detail what you intend to do before you do it, allowing me to set a difficulty for the test.

Personal History: born and raised to a family of travelling merchants along the northern coast of what used to be Rhode Island, he and his family were swept away by a large flood, dragging them out to sea. Floating on what remained of his caravan and eating the scraps of food stored, his parents passed away shortly before he was rescued by a Conclave freighter. Though they had planned to kill him, he proved to be extremely entertaining, and a more than competent chef when needed. He would work for almost nothing, and when the ship returned, he was hired as a servant boy. A surprise attack by the Remnants led him to be armed with a small pistol, but he hesitated and failed to kill anyone. Sympathy from the Remnants alone saved him, but when he took a sniper rifle from a dead soldier, a friend of his, a burst of adrenaline and hatred drove him to quickly and efficiently decapitate seven Remnant soldiers. Later that night, and for the nights to come, he regretted that day, but earned a place among the Ghost soldiers. Reluctantly, he spends his days at an outpost far from the Lazarus Project, alongside a few books that he salvaged, killing only the direct threats, and letting the others slide.
Worst Fear: The sea. After being stuck there with almost no food and watching his parents die, I'm sure you can understand why.
Hopes For The Future: Rise through the ranks of the Conclave to a commanding position, to avoid any direct conflict and make the most of his speech skills.

I'm working with the traditional system, with a bit of actual rules. I find the PAN system (which I invented) works great if you want rules, but still want a large roleplaying element. I'm planning on having the players write a short description of their actions, and make a test if they're is a chance for failure. I hope that answers your question.

Scott was a medic on Dez's squad, who was killed by Ghosts outside of the Primary Gate as he ran for cover carrying the wounded Dez over his shoulder. Nick was a member of his squad as well, transforming into a howler and biting off James' hand, then was decapitated by Rachel.

Alright, grab a drink, and get into a comfy chair, this could take a while...

Picking up after the intro, the UN and the Conclave fought for control of the Primary Gate, resulting in horrific losses on both sides. After some pretty badass shootouts, Rachel, Dez, and Gaz entered the Lazarus Facility, only to have the Primary Gate close behind them. After encountering the first mycomorphs (horrid Dead Space-esque monsters), the UN Team met up with James, a Conclave Ghost posing as a UN sniper. After meeting a psychic names Frank, who died almost immediatly, the group entered Engineering, and fought a big-ass monster who almost tore Rachel in half. Later on, James confesses to being Ray, a Conclave Ghost, and claims he defected. Rachel and Gaz rough him up a bit, but Dez voices in his favor. Then the cinematic Tram Scene occured, with the players hurtling through the Facility with mycomorphs clinging to the side. After that, and after Dez dies blowing up the tram and saving everyone, they meet Herbert West, who tells them the sad story of why everything now sucks the way it does. Meanwhile, Rachel goes solo and crawls around in the vents, looking for a way to turn the power back on. Ghouls...meat cult...bla bla bla.... dramatic ending. Read the last page of Lazarus for the finale. Note, this is a very brief gist, which can't encaptulate the spirit of Lazarus.

Operation Anvil Day 1-

"Listen up degenerates! As of 0600 today, Operation Anvil is in effect! Group Beta will converge on our position from the West, establishing an HQ from where we can range out and capture the rest of the city." As he talks, he shines a laser pointer at various sections of a map of Chicago. Now he shines it at a cluster of factories in the Industrial Zone. "Our first objective will be to capture this group of factories, they are producing weapons and vehicles for the enemy, so be prepared for a meat grinder, the blanks won't let this go without a fight. Our end goal, of course, is to capture the Big Son of a Bitch himself, the Voice. After the HQ is established, Operation Hammer will commence, and detachments from the Epoch Legion will help pound the blanks into the ground, destroying whatever front-line resistance there is before we move in on the Stronghold. Any questions? No? Good. Report to the your landing craft ASAP. I'll see you on the front lines." Taylor dismisses the assembly, walking off to prepare himself. As the doors slam shut and the craft takes flight, and the g-force of takeoff forces you back into your seat, the Sergeant shouts at you over the howl of the engines, "My name is Sergeant Tibbs! The automated voice of the dispatcher echoes throughout the grey and dreary streets of Chicago, repeating the same phrase over and over again; "Attention: Code Eleven-Twenty-Sixteen-Falcon-Shield-Pacify Repeat. Numbers 15310951, 3961391, 193557, 48628, 1351, 135, 13591351, 061361. You are charged with Thought Crime Grade Alpha, prepare for purging. Resistance is not acceptable." Surveillance cam bots buzz through the cramped streets, lingering on individual residents long enough to run a recognition test on the barcode tattooed on their wrists, then speeding off to find others to monitor. A revolt has broken out in the Industrial Zone, terrorists agitating the blank-minded workers into a frenzy. Your orders are simple: no rebel leaves the Industrial Zone alive. You stand with the rest of your team, consisting of two soldiers, two phantoms, and an engineer, whose constant humming is beginning to grate on your nerves. You stand on a catwalk in the middle levels, surrounded by steel and cables. below you is a massive assembly line, the workers continuing with their daily schedule despite the Thought Criminals on the loose. As you make your way across the catwalk, a worker without his gas mask and holding a wrench shouts a challenge to you before running off into a nearby alleyway.

I cautiously approach the entrance to the alley, a simple worker should be no real threat but the tactics used may indicate a possible ambush. I scan the area through the sights of my weapon to look for any possible signs of ambush.

The worker ducks around the corner as Kremlin gives chase, his jackboots echoing hollowly off the steel catwalk as he runs. Reaching the end of the catwalk, he steps onto the platform, pulling left in pursuit of his prey, the narrow grey corridor limiting his vision. The worker stands at the end of the corridor, his wrench raised in defiance. He shouts a single word before racing around yet another bend. Before Kremlin can react, a burst of rifle fire whizzes past his helmeted face, and three men dressed in non-standard clothing (an infraction that results in the removal of a ration token) open fire on the soldier, taking cover around the bend. A bullet strikes Kremlin in the chest, causing the soldier to stumble back a bit as the lead buries itself in his flesh. Cursing under his breath, DAB746151 runs to support his comrade, having taken time to carefully cross into the alley, and he snaps off a burst at the first rifleman, riddling his lungs with bullets, knocking him to the ground as he slowly begins to drown in his own blood.

Kremlin's shots go wild, and he is forced to take cover against the withering barrage from the rebels. Chimera19 cloaks and hides behind an alcove, his neural scythe glowing dully in the darkness. Sneaking behind a rebel soldier, the phantom uncloaks, driving the glowing blade into the traitor's eye socket, causing blood to gush from the wound onto the black armor of his assailant. He slumps to the floor, his corpse shuddering as synapses misfire as the scythe scrambles his brain. The final trooper flees, firing wildly with his autogun as he does so. However, as he runs through the doorway, a metal portal slams shut with a clang, severing his leg at the knee, dropping him to the ground in a screaming heap. Calmly, DAB746151 walks up to the writhing heap, and puts a bullet through his head. The rebel worker is still unaccounted for.

I look over my comrade, seeing only slight wounds I continues my search of the alleyway. The metal door that slammed shut gets my attention as I begin to examine it. I look over at Kremlin, "We've already been ambushed once. This is another pssible trap. The door may be rigged or more of them may be behind the door, we must continue to pursue them, but tactics suggest the use of fragmentation grenades. Tactics also suggest that you be more cautious when dealing with a distraction.".

I continue to search the door for signs of rigged explosives.

OOC: I'm just going to point out a few things for you host.

1)You only have 20 points to distribute amongst your Strength, agility, toughness, will power, intelligence, and charisma. You used 22.
2) The ghost is a UN class, if you want conclave you got to be a phantom.
3) I don't think that you can just say that you killed a person, even an NPC, in this RP. Mordoskul will have to get to you on that one.

Ghost is a Conclave class. There is a special exception of why my character is a ghost on the UN side, all explained in the first Lazarus. You were right on everything else. If you want to kill someone you declare that your attacking them and how. Then mordo tells you 1-10 if your withine 2 you succeed. All classes are listed on first page. That list was just saying how many players of each we had.

Darksage is correct, as if Host. Ghost IS a Conclave class, but due to special circumstances, James is a member of the UN AND a Ghost.

That is far too slow a system. Unimportant NPCs that exist only to die should be killable by players as they please - the point is to create a long and exciting story. I don't see myself being able to write 5 paragraphs of action-packed awesomeness (as I so frequently do in roleplays) if I have to wait for "permission" to kill anything.

Too much reliance on rules and not enough reliance on creativity and freedom. A compramise would be better.

OOC i do have to agree slightly with Darkvoid, because i was trying to create a point i killed the man with the Wrench who led you into the ambush, but if the GM isnt on we cant do anything? and we have like a 1/2 chance to kill ANYTHING that just isnt like i dont know a basic grunt can survive being shot at by a well trained rifleman?

My plan is to do all the rolling myself, using a Random Integer Generator. I agree with the unimportant NPC sentament, and will work within that. The game is player driven, so feel free to write out your 5 paragraphs of awesome.

OOC I liked the first Lazarus because it had the feel of general terror that our character might die. It had the feel of a real rp you would do outside of Dakka with friends. In this kinda format players just sorta god mode. The whole reason I liked Lazarus was it seemed like the only rp on Dakka that implemented a roping system. You did get creativity of what you got to do with your post you would make decisions. Whenever you would pick to go to the Engineering room or Green House you would consider what would have the best supplies and if you could fight the beast you might face there. All of the rps on Dakka are already like that. Why ruin Lazarus?

I never said ruin it/convert completely. That's what Events are for, and the GM can do it at any time he likes. He can even specify certain situations in which we must wait if he truly wishes. But the roleplay would be very slow otherwise.

Besides, the other system is good if managed properly, so I would hardly call a complete change to that "ruining it". Changing yes, and I'm not saying we should.

Alright, let us discuss. I like the traditional format, but not enough to convert Lazarus over to it completely. What you should do is this; Describe your actions in detail, but don't go crazy. Describe your reactions, your emotions, your actions. I'll have you roll if you have a chance of death (often). I want to mesh these systems, so that both casual and hard core RPers can enjoy it. I'm open to suggestions.

That is why, as I said earlier, roleplaying is all about trust and acceptance that creating a good, enjoyable story is more important than winning/surviving...

I agree with going the Lazarus way. There are a lot of RP's using the 'choose a or b' path and a lot using the 'GM does events but doesn't control much else'. Lazarus seems like a middle ground between those two. The GM gives us events and allows us to create our own options without controllingtoo much of the story. Let's give it a go for awhile, the last Lazarus was a success from what I've read.

OOC: I believe that Dace(wild host) and Chimera19(shroud) are right next to each other in the coolant tower room. Dab746151(myself) has moved deeper into the room by moving around the corner. Hassan and Kremlin are both where they were after the first shootout. Dace and Chimera had a nice little chat about their respective training and time in the conclave.

Dace is reporting rebel fire from somewhere in the coolant tower room.

I'm not sure where the fire is coming from(above, below, all around, or somewhere) so I'll have to assume that around some other corner there were rebels hiding and they ambushed both Dace and Chimera who were standing still.

Dab continued to move further into the room and it appeared to him that he had lost the trail of the rebel worker. The fact that he had lost the trail didn't necessarily annoy Dab, but the fact that he was unable to accomplish his mission did. He returned from around the corner to see the ghost and phantom talking to each other as if it was designated free time. Dab felt annoyed with the fact that these two stealth specialists were not actively assisting him in seeking the rebels, but if he had to do it on his own he would have to attempt to do so. With a loud cough he grabbed their attention, "If you two would please split up and search different areas of this rather large room we could locate the rebels faster. Keep in radio contact however, it would be strategically deteriorating if an asset was lost and the others did not know of it.".

With that Dab looked at the intersection of the pathways between the coolant towers, "I'll continue north, away from the point of entry. East and West are viable options as South will return us to the door.". With that Dab pressed on northward between the rows of towers.

BIC Dace quit using his pistol and began shooting with his rifle. He found it easyer to cloak while the heavy was reloading and peer out as he was firing, But his luck ended when one of the rebel bullets caught him in the stomach.*Over radio* "Man...Hit.. need assitance..... we turned left at...*coughs* the entrance 2 out of the 6 rebels are dead, one of*Coughs louder* which is a heavy. Hurry chimera is killing them in si....*Coughs up blood*lence but the heavy is losing intrest in shooting at my wall" radio goes quiet. Dace Notices a silence. He rubs his eyes wondering if the trropers were coming to finish him off. He prayed Hassen and Kremlin would hurry.

James glanced around not quite comfortable being called out and not trusted. He understood that though, to them, he was just another blank. "If you really want to know what happened then I'll tell you. I was a Captain in the UN. My parents had taught me to stand against the repressive force of the Conclave. I was captured and sent to a reeducation camp. I was inducted into the Ghost once my mind was wiped and taught that the UN were animals and savages standing against the new perfect world order. Back in Lazarus," he paused as the horrific flashbacks flooded through his mind, " I infiltrated a squad of UN to survive. My first intent was to kill them. At a moment were I was able to slit Gaz's throught on an operating table we were attacked by beasts. The squad caught them back and I decided saving Gaz instead of killing him was in my best interest. After some time of observing them I realized they weren't the monsters. The Voice was, the Conclave was, I was. Later I had been told to stand down by a Conclave officer and he shot a man in my squad. I blew his leg off. A squad of Conclave had me communicate with the voice himself. He told me every thing. Bastard made me kill my own parents. For those that still don't trust me. I did everything I could for the UN troops. I don't even care what happens to me anymore. I just want the bastard who ruined my life brought to justice. So yeah, I'm a Ghost."

Operation Anvil Day 1, Hours After Briefing, Above Chicago Industrial Zone

As the dropships begin their descent into the smoggy cloud cover of the Industrial Zone, your stomach drops out as the craft plummets to the ground, traveling at incredible speeds to the clearing below. Gaz cackles like a maniac as the adrenaline flushes through his system, Foaly gives a joyful laugh as well, her voice becoming shrill as she giggles madly. Stopping just short of the grey steel of the ground, the dropship gently lowers to the ground, extending landing limbs as it settles to the ground, lowering the landing ramp to allow you to exit. Tibbs unbuckles himself, stretching in the confines of the room. "Alright men, let's kill some blanks!" Tibbs rushes outside, assault rifle sweeping the empty streets of the Industrial Zone. The rest of you file outside, as well as the passengers of the other vessels, looking warily about as they disembark. "Where the hell are they?" Mutters Tibbs. "Industrial Zone's supposed to be crawling with blanks..." His thought is interrupted by a shrill wailing coming from a distance, an ominous sound no UN soldier soon forgets. "AIMPs!" Thousands of scatter-missiles descend upon the invaders, blasting them apart with high-powered explosives, forming geysers of meat and bone. As you look about, you see the remains of half a sniper attempt to drag himself back inside his transport, his body vaporized as the dropship is struck by a missile. Taking cover behind the wrecked remains of your dropship, you crouch into a defensive posture. After another three minutes, the barrage let's up, leaving you and perhaps another dozen UN troops alive. As the smoke clears, you can see shapes moving off in the distance, and a mechanical burbling reaches your ears as the shapes take on a more definite form. Several Suppressor walkers have arrived to finish the job the AIMPs started, their spider-like legs carrying them forward at alarming speed, their red photoreceptors glowing in the gloom.

As you advance deeper into the cooling complex, you can hear the sound of running feet coming from nearby, ten, maybe twenty meters. Meanwhile, Dace fight a desperate battle against a group of rebel troopers, wounded and alone, he takes cover against a wall, firing with his free hand.

I hurry over to last location I saw fire coming from, the sound of running feet grab my attention and I try to discern if they are approaching us or running away from us. I see that Dace has been hit, but Chimera is busy working on him. I move away from them and towards the sound of running feet just in case the rebels try to come back to finish him off. I take cover behind a cooling tower in front of them.

"Get him out of sight, if they see him they'll attempt to finish what they started." I yell as I begin to fire in the direction of the running noises.

i check to see if dace can be moved then i dragged him off to a shadow and begin operating

*dace trys not to moan as chimera begins to withdraw the bullet, but as the bullet comes out a loud moan is let out ad a rebel fires in the direction it came from.

A surprise attack by the Remnants led him to be armed with a small pistol, but he hesitated and failed to kill anyone. Sympathy from the Remnants alone saved him, but when he took a sniper rifle from a dead soldier, a friend of his, a burst of adrenaline and hatred drove him to quickly and efficiently decapitate seven Remnant soldiers. Later that night, and for the nights to come, he regretted that day, but earned a place among the Ghost soldiers. Reluctantly, he spends his days at an outpost far from the Lazarus Project, alongside a few books that he salvaged, killing only the direct threats, and letting the others slide.

I felt like doing something a little different from what everyone else was doing. Everyone's so combat-oriented and uncharismatic, I think that a good scout/spy might be fun to play as. He looked into his scope and saw a man dragged by what looked like air, moved into the center of the room screaming, almost crying ."Chimera how do you make killing so fun"He said smiling and shaking his head as he took the shot.

Kremlin helps secure the position around Dace and Chimera. He wacthes as Dace and Chimera execute a Rebel and smiled.

I slowly and cautionly look around anything that could be cover.

Dace Screams in pain as he looks down and puts his hand on his thiegh. "Dear god do you really want me dead" he thought looking at the blood on his hand. "The vein in your theigh if shot, cut ,bitten, or begins to bleed will kill you in 120 seconds" he could remember the instructer saying." he removed the small amount of armor on his leg and sighed in releif as he saw the bullet barely scraped him.

Kremlin is surprised by the attack but is quick to react , Kremlin fires concentrated blasts against the Rebels before ducking into cover behind a crate and re-loading, he them jumps up from behind the crate quickly and aims at a Rebel head with his rifle. He clicks the trigger in hope of a kill. The bullet hits into the back of the Rebels spine as they retreat after wounding Dace, he rushes over to Dace to give cover to his fallen comrade. He then scans the surrounding area with his rifle for any remaining Rebels.

Kremlin continued to spray bullets when a rebel sprayed bullets near him casuing him to hit cover. Chimera Used his sythe to drag him in the open, and just before Dace fired he realized this wasn't a normal rebel. This rebel resembled his brother. "There is no way that is my younger brother!" but he looked the boy in the eyes.Dace then started shaking violently , fell on his back , and passed out.

"Derius, Derius wake up!"he heard his mom say.
"Wait what? I thought mom was dead?" he thought to himself. He opened his eyes to his mother and twin sister emily getting ready to go to the conclave provided "School Program" which Derius had always hated. "Wheres Jason?He dosnt have to work today does he?" He asked his mom.
"They offered a ration ticket a day for overtimeif he comes in every tuesday,"his mom explained."We were going to suprise you with cakes tonight, but oh well," She said with a shrug.
"Mom no i dont want cakes tonight we should get something else, my birthday isn't that special"
"Derius! Don't say that it is very special, and anyway get your clothes on school is in 45 minutes and i dont want to have to give up a ration ticket for you to be late," she told him

Dace and Emily watched as four UN Troops walked through the door and one slit his mother's throat. Bullets tore through the kitchen and multiple hit his dad.
The Troopers left with alll of their ration tickets in a bag.

Kremlin jumped up from cover and aimed his rifle at the head of the Rebel. He pulls the trigger and unleashes a stream of bullets towards the Rebel.

James' round slams into the leg of the lead Suppressor, shattering the limb at the joint, causing it to pitch forward with a mechanical howl, it's manstopper shotguns firing in vain. However, Gaz's round fail to hit their mark, and a concussion grenade detonates at his feet, blowing him off his feet, sending him crashing into the wrecked remains of a dropship, the PLEX armor sparing his life.

Shooting through to the rebel, I manage to kill a few of them, before a well-placed explosive device knocks over the sniper outpost that I had called home for so long.

James stays serene firing with each exhale he takes aiming for the approaching walkers. "Ironic, I used to damn the Plex armor. It could stop even some of the best shots. Now I'm happy to see it absorb round after round." he whispered to himself. 5 for James's shots.

Operation Anvil Day 1-

As the Suppressors approach, the UN prepare for the incoming attack, taking cover amid the wreckage. As the Suppressors shrug off sniper shots, they reach your position, opening fire with their Manstoppers, literally blowing lightly armored soldiers in half with the spray of low-velocity rounds. Firing concussion grenades high into the air, they pulp a squad of soldiers to meaty chunks, their screams mingling with the muffled explosion. A Suppressor turns it's massive guns on the downed Gaz, but before it can fire, a shard of broken and twisted machinery hits it in the central eye, causing it to twist about as it falls, the slave-brain destroyed by the attack. Nero helps Gaz to his feet, and moves him behind the wrecked dropship, firing with his reaper pistol. The final two Suppressors advance on Foaly and Jake, priming their Manstoppers for the kill. From behind the Suppressors comes the sound of running feet, and the sound of warped voices. Several dozen men and women wearing grey jumpsuits charge forward, equipped with broken pipes and other improvised weapons. Strange, globe-like devices are clamped to the back of their heads, egging them forward.

"Damn! We can't have a seconds rest." James shoots at the suppressors approaching Jake and Foley. "I've never been so happy to be cloaked." 9

OOC well, I haven't been getting any response on anything I've been doing, so I'll just keep on going...

Coughing from the dust and with what feels like a broken wrist, the Remnants disappear from my field of view, and I find myself temporarily unable to fire a rifle correctly.
Out of the corner of my eye, I spot a dead Remnant soldier not too far away from my position, and begin crawling toward it. I flip the switch on the cloaking device and, fairly well-hidden, change into a Remnant suit of armor. Still cloaked, I run toward the mob, explosives in hand, covering my definitive Conclave mask with a hood on the Remnant armor.
"Guys," I say over the radio, "do NOT shoot the guy in the grey hood!"

OOC: Bah.. my creative juices are all used up at the minute. Recharge time estimate: 2 Terran Cycles (two days ).

mack rethinks his retreat and charges back to the dropship to have take out the suppressing force heading
towards them , he fires half a clip into a stalker just a few metres away hoping to hit it 7 and dives back behind
the cover he was not long behind a few minutes ago . mack tries to analyse his situation what his has just got himself
into again and decided he will wait for the action to calm down before he tries something like that again .

Eagle, Rose, Pacify Day 1-

Firing a burst of shots at the nearest rebel, DAB746151 blows his chest open, showering the cooling tower with gore. Kremlin fails to hit anything, his shots spraying sparks off the metal siding of the maze-like structure. Chimera19 slashes open the throat of a rebel officer, causing the man to collapse to the ground, his neck spurting blood in a crimson arc. 425093DCB however, takes a round to the head, the bullet exiting through the back of his skull, spreading his brains over the wall behind him, jerking his body like a puppet as he crumples to the ground, the gaping wound leaking blood and other vital fluids. The remaining rebel retreat, tossing a grenade as they do so, which lands at the feet of Kremlin, who gives a cry of surprise as the explosion removes his legs with terrifying force, leaving the soldier to flop on the ground, screaming as his heart pumps streams of gore onto the steel plating. Silence descends, and an automated voice echos through your coms, giving you new orders. "Attention: Code Thirteen-Sixteen-Eight-Eleven-Eagle-Rose-Pacify Repeat. Conclave personal within Industrial Zone are to terminate non-standards located in Sector 11-B. Failure to acknowledge these orders will result in immediate termination. Repeat."

Operation Anvil Day 1-

Mac raises his ripsaw, tearing one of the pitiful pale men in half, the two halves showering blood over the ground as the gobbets fly into the air. Sergeant Tibbs fires a burst at the Suppressor menacing the two soldiers, attracting it's attention long enough for the walker to kick him away with a steel-tipped leg, knocking him against a dropship with a horrid snapping noise. Second-Lieutenant Taylor's voice calls out over your com, his voice full of urgency. "We're pulling out! If we stay in the open any longer we'll be torn apart! We need to meet up with Beta ASAP!"

mack acknowledges the order over the com and bunkers down and starts to pick off the remaining suppressors as one breaks cover
he fires at him with frustration as the bullets just miss and scatter everywhere . " its your call when we fall back sergeant " mack screams
over the loud noises of the incoming fire and holds tight as he hears a bullet ping of the rubble just a few centimetres from his head.
mack suddenly remembers he hates being is situations of pure terror it reminds of the horrible day his parents got murdered in front of him.
remembering what had happened to his parents he looks over the cover and fires a full clip at the group of suppressors charging at him 4 while
screaming at the top of his voice....

Operation Anvil Day 1-

After firing off parting shots, the UN forces of Group Kappa retreat, using the wrecks of their transports as cover. Taylor drags the prone form of Sergeant Tibbs out of the line of fire, tossing a frag grenade into the charging mob of drones, their mewling screams cut off by the sound of the Suppressors firing their Manstoppers, tearing a soldier in half as he struggles to get away. The two Suppressors close in on Taylor, their mechanical howls sounding more like beasts than machines. Shoving Tibbs out of the way, Taylor rolls under one of the walkers, firing a burst into it's midsection, driving a hail of bullets into the slave-brain, killing the walker. The other tracks the officer as he runs at it, it's Manstoppers unable to get a bead on him. Stabbing his combat knife into it's photoreceptor, he sprints away, flipping Tibbs over his back as he runs to join you. "Let's move it people!"

I glance at the two dead Conclave troops.

"Hopefully they managed to kill some of the rebels before expiring." I think to myself as I continued to remain in cover. Shots smack bits of concrete off of the tower and begin to blur my view. Rebel troops continue to fire towards my position and I realize that I may have to relocate myself. I decide to move forwards to the next cooling tower, but not before I give myself some breathing room.

I pull the pin of a grenade and prepare to throw it towards the UN positions...

OOC: Not sure if these needs a test or not.

After Tibbs returns, i use my powers to send another volley of metal shards at the suppressors

Out of the Skys 2 Jump Troopers hover about 90 feet above the ground spraying the suppressors with Bullets (5 and 7) and as one goes lower he is hit by one of the manstoppers blowing him out of the sky like a fly swater, chunking him into hundreds of pieces

I've had a good idea for a roleplay.. and provided I'm still awake, I should post it up later.

Interlude: Kicking the Hornet's Nest

As the Conclave Execution Team finished off their current targets and rushed to Sector 11-B, a great wailing could be heard amidst the sounds of machinery and toil. The Alarm, a great klaxon located within the Fortress blared, it's sound rousing the Conclave to the defense of their city. Thousands of workers armed themselves with carbines given to them by the Enforcers, who in turn activated the Suppressor Kill-Drones, which hummed to eerie life as the slave-brains directed the spider-like machines into combat. Massive Reaper Siege-Walkers stalked out of their holding pods, energy cannons charging to full power as they sought out prey. In the center of Chicago, the Fortress was alive with gunships and the hammering of thousands of polished jackboots striking the steel floors. At the highest turret stood the Voice, the most powerful man on Earth. Peering out from the holes in his gas mask, he felt a surge of pride as thousands of black-clad soldiers marched in lockstep from the great fortification, each glad to give their lives for him. He had brought order to a world in chaos, crushing his enemies in great Purges that left cities empty and devoid of life. He had dealt away with the foolishness of 'free-will' and the sin of identity. His people were filled with purpose and loyalty, understanding that their service was a reward unto itself. He had toppled the UN from power, scattering them to the winds, executing their leaders as part of a public spectacle. In short, he was a god. Was the Conclave not his mailed fist? A great hammer used to crush any who opposed him? Were his people not utterly bound to him, their very thoughts under his control? Now the worms strived to become serpents, daring to attack what he had sacrificed millions of lives to build. He would show them the error of their ill-concieved attack. Not a single non-standard would leave Chicago, he would make sure of that. Life and death were in his hands, to his people, he gave life. To the UN, death.

The UN pulls back, exchanging parting shots with the advancing wave of drones before running into an abandoned apartment building, kicking open the door and taking refuge inside an empty home. Taylor barricades the door with a dresser before securing the rest of the house. He motions for the rest of you to gather around, and you are shocked to realize that you are the only remaining members of Group Kappa. "The blanks hit us hard, they smashed our transports and killed most of us. Obviously, we can't continue our mission with so few of us. Group Beta is the closest group of UN friendlies, so I suggest we move there." He pulls out a holographic chart, which shows a symetrical range of factories and apartments. "We are here. Group Beta is here. Our coms are down, so we'll have to either A, meet face to face, or B, send out a message via a Conclave radio. It's up to you."

IC mac takes the opportunity to check and service his rifle on a little table near the centre of the house
and take a little bit of time looking around the house and in his explorations he comes across a small piece
of plaster board on a wall which is peeling off he tears it off and he reveals a small room laid with weapons
and with conclave posters and mac suddenly gets the feeling that he shouldn't be here so he yells
" I've found something guys!" before leaving the room

Fly runs into the room and is paralyzed with fear,he looks at the weapons before grabing a couple of grenades,lots of ammo, and a backup rifle and cleaning kits. Fly pulls up a chair and begins to speak(he is standing on it) "Ok people listen take whatever allistics you need and everybody take some food because we are dead if we stay here. We should move out to regroup with the other team" he exlaims.

He decided to check the window in time to see an approaching Conclave patrol scanning the area for them. "We need to get out fast. If we pick off this patrol the Conclave will zero in on us. The conclave force is like a hydra, kill one and two more mindless drones come to replace them."

Eagle, Rose, Pacify Night 1-

As DAB746151 finishes off his target, the Conclave soldiers move to Sector 11B of the Industrial Zone, reports of a UN attack force landing there have been confirmed. Furthermore, AIMP batteries opened up on them as soon as they landed, resulting in 93% casualties. Suppressors and drones tool care of the rest. However, several nonstandards were seen leaving the scene, and have holed up inside a residential building. A nearby Spook squad has been notified, and are in bound to deal with the foe. As you reach Sector 11B, the burnt out shells of numerous UN craft greet you, along with a variety of corpses that seem to have exploded mid-air, coating the ground and sides of buildings with viscera and arterial fluid. As the sun slips behind the grey horizon, and the lumes spring to light the darkened corridors of the Industrial Zone, you can't shake the feeling of being watched. As Sindri steps forwards, a yellow-clad hand grips his leg. A UN engineer, torn in half at the waist clutches at him, rasping. "They...came out of the dark! Oh god, they'll be back! Oh please god, kill me before they come back!"

Operation Anvil Night 1-

As Mac steps outside into the rapidly descending gloom of the night, and sweeps his gaze back and forth across the darkened streets, something flashes out of the corner of his eye. When he turns to look, he sees nothing but the entrance to an ally. Shrugging, he turns back around, shouldering his ripsaw, just in case. Like a whisper of a whisper, Mac can hear a very faint 'vip' just around the corner. Peering around the side of the house, Mac is bowled over by a man dressed in a black bodyglove, implanted blades springing from his palms as he closes for the kill, the grill around his mouth issuing a horrid keening. The 'vip' issues again as he vanishes in a cloud of static, reappearing several feet away in a burst of energy, turning on his heels as he swings his mono blades at the heavy assault trooper, severing his right arm at the elbow in a spray of crimson mist. Mac screams as the stump pumps blood out onto the street, and he forces the door back open, climbing inside. As the door slams behind him, he yells; "Mother f*cking spooks!"

"Enjoy hell scum , give the devil my regards"
Sindri slowly walks away but does not stop to see shadowy shapes moving towards the enginer. , he chuckles as he walks past more torn apart bodies and bones.

i walk over to the engineer. I begin to pick through his things to see if he was holding any information.
"ill put you out of your misery if you tell me whats are your objectives?"

Interlude: Night Terrors-

The buddy system had failed him yet again, and Corporal Clegg found himself alone in the bowels of the Industrial Zone, having been cut off from his squad during a firefight on one of the sub-factories. Clegg stumbled about, unsure of where he was or where he was supposed to be. The red lights of the cramped corridor shone aggressively in his eyes, coloring the scene a bloody crimson as the automatic door ahead of him whooshed open. Clegg stepped through, sweeping his assault rifle back and forth across the room. It was an unremarkable room, perhaps a scanning room, where the value of metals were determined. He gave cry of alarm when he saw the hunched creature at the end of the room, it's gangly limbs dragging on the floor as it ran with a parody of movement towards him. Ropes of black bile leaked from it's ravaged maw, it's broken teeth rotted from the corruption within. It's eyes were pure white, and wept the same fluid as it's mouth. Clegg screamed as it wrapped it's rotted hands around his helmet, and tore it free, the creature's stink filling his nostrils as it bore down on him. The thing reared back as vomited a stream of thick black sputum over the Corporal's face, the acid eating into his flesh. Clegg dropped to his knees, attempting to wipe the foul stuff from his eyes, but to his horror, he wasn't able to clear in out of his eyes. Then with a start, Clegg realized his eyes were gone, melted into jelly by the awful spew. Still he clawed at his face, trying to wipe it clean to no avail. His hands tore chunks of meat and rivers of melted fat from his visage as he screamed. He continued screaming until his lips fused together, as did his nostrils, and Corporal Clegg slowly suffocated, jerking in wild convulsions as he died, moaning for lack of a mouth to scream with.

The engineer gurgles, before saying: "We were supposed to disable the four primary factories to cripple you industry, then move in with Operation Hammer... that's all I know! Please kill me! You promised!"
