whats "very little comp"?
im just getting back into tournament playing.
missed all the main ones which you have attended. Hoping to go to the "no Holes Bared" tournament in mansfield later this year.
Which tournaments do you find best?
I usually play in Doncaster.

Ahh I can't make No Holes, also 2000 doesn't really appeal to me.
Little comp was basically no double rare aaaaaaaand... that was pretty much it lol.
I like the really tough events, like the Tempest events in Stockport. I'm also planning on going to Tribute and Downfall, both in Wales, and maybe Warlords GT (Warrington) depending on how many painting commissions I can get in the meantime :/

Post by: Jubear
Magic strats ie how to work out how many dice to throw at something with a good chance of it working etc as well as spell drawing techniques and maybe an overview of the bacis lores?
And please got into the maths behind it so many folk struggle with the idea that a power level 11 spell of a level 1 should go off on average from just 3 dice (average of 3 dice bering 10 plus 1 for mage level) also explaining to folk not to cast for the sake of casting if tis not going to acomplish much.
Oh jeez so much to cover good luck with that =)

On the Battle Reports:
Enjoyable to watch, nice models and ofcourse lovely voice and cat.
Quite alot of failures in using the right name for the right unit, I got slightly confused in one of the reports against bretonnia, those knights were everywhere.
Not a huge problem though, its just me who enjoys nitpicking.

Great videos! Only thing is that maybe you should add some markers on the pictures just so the viewer can get an idea of movement for those annoying times when our (my) frontal lobes fail (or an oddly angleled picture appears) and we (I) can't seem to remember who is who and what is what...
But other than that, it just doesn't get any better when it comes to battlereports!
Kudos to you.

Basically, they're ablative wounds for the Sorceress-they give her somewhere where she can hide out of combat and cast her spells, and still be safe from shooting and magic. They also carry the Standard of Discipline when the level 4 is the general, so that I can get my ld10 general. I also use the Sacrificial Dagger on the level 4 to turn them into 6pt power dice

The level of comp in the UK is pretty astounding. While a lot of it makes sense and there's things I know my local gaming group does (caps on unit sizes, caps on the # of power dice you can throw at a spell, caps on the amount of points unit can be, etc)
It seems like the comp bludgeoning the Lizardmen take is pretty unfair though, you do realize you NEVER play Lizardmen? I've watched all of your battle reports since Call to War and you've literally never played a single Lizardmen army.
42821
Post by: tmarichards
I'm not usually doing well enough to get up high enough to play Lizardmen, I usually get smashed back down the tables by Ogres or Skaven. I hate Skaven :(
Also, the top ranked player in the UK uses Lizards, they do get hit by comp but they still do fairly well. Very tempted to do them as my 2013 army... Automatically Appended Next Post: Updated with all 5 games from Lightning Strike 2012, summary to follow shortly

I've been looking for Tomb Kings batreps myself. About the only ones I've found are either Miniwargaming (Matt uses TK), Bunkertube (though there hasn't been much new stuff) FAT guys and vidbatreps (I think that's what they're called?) who do tournament stuff.
Or check out the Khemri forums- there's a whole batrep section, and the forum is dedicated to Tomb Kings.

The Miniwargaming ones are fun and very well done, but as Matt himself proclaims, he doesn't play much fantasy and doesn't even really know the rules THAT well. I'm looking for next level tournament like reports that I can use as a learning tool.
I'll check out the Khemri forums, thank you.

If you're looking for Tourney stuff, (and vid stuff) check out Vidhammer Fantasy on YouTube. As far as I can tell, they cover tourneys and pretty much give a blow-by-blow of everything while showing (most of) it in video format.

Glad you enjoyed them
My local TK practice partner was talking about starting up some battle reports but he's not really gone anywhere with them, main reason is that he is a really bad loser.. I mean, I hate losing, but compared to him I'm fine...
I'll give him a nudge to see if he's still planning on doing them, but I've sort of alienated that gaming group a bit, turns out calling out one of them on cheating in both tournaments and practice games wasn't considered good form...

Ok so, my first UB tournament game is arranged for around 1630 GMT today although my opponent may be running a little bit late.
I'll be getting my stream up and running at 1530 so sort out audio levels and so on, it'll be at justin.tv/tmarichards. Then I'll do a list preview as I've not done one yet, and then hopefully the game will start around 1630.
I've never run a stream before (I spent a fair bit of time yesterday making sure it's all running smoothly, but this will be my first proper run), so it could be a bit rough around the edges but please bear with me. Also, follow me on Twitter @tmarichards for more updates.
